we have more or less owned Mexico head to head since '02 with the exception being Azteca and that horrific game in 2011

his long term vision as Technical director and if he wanted to stay on in that role (I know he wouldn't but still) I would be happy to have him.
I have really disliked the product that he puts out on the field (being out shot by teams that are not better over and over agan) as well as many, many maddening line up choices from long before the world cup (the CB choices this summer though take the cake).
I don't have a choice in mind for Sunil Gulati to replace him with, I just don't really thnk you should keep a coach for beyond 1 world cup cycle. Fresh ideas are a good thing.

The only thing that can save Klinsy and the tire fire that my beloved USMNT has been as of late if the fact that this Mexico team isn't any good as well.
I fire him regardless of result, but hey that's just me.
Go Nats. Give Ohio to Mexico. Jozy scores twice. 2-0 USA.

This is my 8th year in the student section. I don't love it but it is just part of the student game experience. It is ingrained in our heads.
Also, it is not that bad. in reality, we are lucky it is not way worse like most schools including that place up 96 .

I guess I should've said for me. On game days I generally have 3-4 groups of people in town I want to see. This makes gamedays fun. It also makes it hard to do it all before noon.

for those of us who actually go to the games. Just not enough time for a decent tailgate even as a grad student

|6 weeks 6 days ago||Massive invasion of privacy||
18 year old kids are allowed to take a bullet for this country abroad. If they can make that choice, they should have the right to privacy from their parents. I told my parents everything, but I had many friends who funded their time at Michigan on their own through loans and jobs. The fact that a public university would release what amounts to a medical issue (alcohol abuse is absolutely a medical issue) is asinine.

I may be a bit biased because I am a huge skier and my parents both did their grad work at the U but SLC (and the surrounding mountains) is one of my very favorite areas to visit.
First, the areas around the ski resorts, downtown, and around the university are far more liberal about many things than the rest of the state. There is actually quite a counter-cultural movement. The drinking laws are still very strict however are a million times better after the Olympics. The only massive difficulty is that you must get your personal liquor at a state liquor store (check hours ahead of time because most aren't open late) and there are a few oddities about how bars can and cannot make certain drinks however it will probably not affect you.
For your day off, I second any suggestion that includes getting out of the city to see the mountains. If you are in the mood for a longer trip, I suggest any of Utah's 5 spectacular national parks (Drive times: zion is far (4 1/2), arches and cayonlands 3 1/2-4, bryce canyon 4, capitol reef 3 1/2). If you want something closer that is a bit more crowded and resorty, do park city. My top suggestion however is to go hiking in the Cottonwood Canyons.
Downtown has a lot of beautiful things like temple square to see that probably can be done on the day of the game. The bar/brewery scene downtown is fairly solid.
I cannot help on tailgating questions because I have only been to basketball games at the U.
Mad jealous of everyone going, enjoy!

He always has been.
However, he has been one of the very best sources for Detroit Sports News since he started doing this crap in 03/04 (I started reading him after he broke the Rick Carlisle firing right before the Larry Brown hire). Yes, he is mean. Yes, he makes a big deal out of things that aren't (this article).
But I read him because he is almost always accurate with the information. He is well connected, it is his analysis that is bad. The fact that he is offensive and rude to everyone does not make his info wrong.

One of the big limitations of the stadium over the bar or home is the ability to have a beer. It would improve the setting drastically

Not super well nor would I say we are friends. However, from my dealings with him, he was a genuine, good dude. Sure, he likes to party. Guess what, many athletes and students do as well. It doesn't make you a bad person who is unable to judge someone's character.
I dislike Brandon as much as the next fan, but of the athletes I knew from the big sports, they all loved him and spoke as highly about him as possible.
