As long as they have little to no history of criminal or NCAA violation activity -- I'm fine with it. Could you imagine hiring Dantonio and having him pledge allegence to Michigan...and how much that would piss off MSU fans?

I think everyone is missing the overall point:
Students don't show up until 10 minutes after kickoff anyway.

For your edification, the Athletic budgets for non-revenue generating sports teams were paid for before Brandon got here. He did not fix or create that.

The fact is, he's probably not even playing football at any school without fans who watch it. If he is, it's a club sport that no one watches or cares about. It's not that he expressed his own opinion about the coaching staff (as the fans have done) it's that he personally attacked the fans -- which would be like me saying, "the players and their opinions do not matter".

There's always going to be crazies out there who take it to an extreme. They're the same ones who tweet recruits who choose a rival school. For the most part, the complaints now have been pretty justified and rational.

The choices are:
1. Call for change
2. Ignore there's a problem
3. stop caring
Considering that ignoring there's a problem = paying absurd amounts of money to watch a bad football team play, and sometimes lose, to other bad football teams...this is not a reasonable expectation.
So you're saying we all just stop carying, thus killing Michigan football as we know it?

While I'm glad he actually noticed people were mad at him, it's amazing how blind he is to why those people are mad at him. It's not just students -- did he miss the empty stadium the last 3 games?
If you're competing with television sets, logic would dictate you can't charge people absurd amounts of money for terrible games.

Not totally true. A college can talk with an NFL coach without violating any terms. An NFL team can't poach an NFL coach mid season.

I'm actually kind of glad. I mean, I'm sure it sucks for Isaac but from a team standpoint -- his eligability helps us out more down the line than it does this season.

I don't care who the opponent is at this point. Less than a week from now I will be sitting in Michigan Stadium watching Michigan play. Football, even losses, is better than no football.

I honestly wouldn't mind, and didn't mind during the soccer match. It seemed fine to me. The lines were crazy long, but that was about the only negative thing I could say about it; and based on the statement I posted above...it seems that the stadium authorities thought it was fine as well -- at minimum, no worse than football games.
It seems people are willing to speculate without any real evidence. The evidence (two games that have sold beer at the stadium) suggests that it wouldn't be anywhere near the issue that some are making it out to be.
|8 weeks 4 days ago||I can't imagine there would||
I can't imagine there would be much of a difference with selling it in the stadium. The people who are willing to get that drunk and be drunk ass holes are a limited few in the population of fans. They're probably going to do that either way and adding beer in the stadium isn't going to magically create more drunk ass holes in the population.
