I think the senior, and even the Junior, classes are the calateral dammage in all of this. But I think this system is better overall and unfortunately it had to be 1 senior class who got hosed in this deal no matter when they made the switch. I have always liked general seating for students and it works out really well in places like PSU. Somehow it just makes the most sense in a non-uniform seating section like the student section. To some extent, the student section always ends up GA durring the games anyway.

I think the best part abotu GA is that you can get a group of 10 friends together and all sit together in the stadium if you want to. And if you meet someone during the semester that you want to sit with, say even a girlfriend, you can.

Unfortuantely, I think your situation is in the vast minority of students who can't show up early. Most just simply choose not. If every student was like you, then there wouldn't be a problem but that's not the case and now you're being inconvieninced because of the other population of students who hasn't been showing up regularly. The seniors this year are getting particularly screwed because, as you said, you've been waiting your turn to get into the best seats. Ultimately I think this is the best thing for the student section and has been a long time coming.

I think I put my name on the list in 2004 or 2005. It took 3 or 4 years until I even got offered the oppertunity to get tickets and it happened the same year I graduated (I assume because I got priority points from graduation). But as others have said, it's all based on priority points. If you donate $100,000 you'll probably get tickets. If you donate $100, you probably won't get tickets. usually they offer people on the waiting list some sort of seat package (like 3 home games).

Well, don't forget, Michigan isn't obligated to stay in the big ten either. Michigan and OSU have some extreme power to throw around in college athletics. Theoretically all big ten schools could choose to dump Delany as well.

Except when you factor in this video game gets put in hundreds of thousands of kids hands throughout the country. It's free advertising for the University and football program. It's not "just a video game". This really has little to do with the actual video game and everything to do with the winged helmet being on the cover of something that's on store shelves throughout the country.

IMO I'd be fine playing 11 conference games. The OOC games really do nothing.

I think the fact that Shane Morris is still ranked as high as he is, is a testimate to how good he actually is. He had Mono most of his senior season and a pretty poor performance in the under armour game, or whatever it was. I think most knew he was going to drop his fifth start after his lackluster performance in the under armour game game but top 100 players, outside of the top 15 or so, end up all pretty much having the same success rate in college. Not to mention he's still a five star on scout.

Plus, is anyone really dissapointed in this class? I don't see how anyone could possibly be. Especially if we add Green I think this may be our best class ever, and maybe the highest ranked class ever.

But if they don't fill a spot, they just don't have a player. I think having more offensive lineman is better than not having a player at all.

I'm not sure Florida, even with their coach in place, is a better spot right now compared to ND.

I don't know...it seems since the USC thing happened the NCAA has been handing out the bowl-ban hammer with ease. Ask PSU fans if they think the NCAA is a joke. I think the NCAA is out to prove it isn't one and schools like Oregon are going to be in their path.

I actually can give you an official update on them. They are ordered and should probably be in early next week in order to ship out and hopefully be in before Jan 1st. I work with the girl helping Odoms with all of this. She said it took so long because she needed everyone's order in before she could do a bulk order with the company she's using for all the prizes.

I think the common prediction is that he's mostly a FB and not really an every down RB.

Very sad to see him go. As a fan I always want players to stay here and graduate. The bright side of thise is that it opens up another recruiting spot in a class where it seems we have a shot at multiple "big names". But I'd much rather have Hopkins here than have a recruiting spot in this class. When it was first announced Hoke was coming, I thought Hopkins was going to make a great fullback. 

I'm actually happy about this. ESPN does CFB best. Every time a bowl game is on Fox or CBS - the coverage sucks balls.

• To your first point, I agree. I wish they would replay plays once the review of the play was already under question. I understand that you don't want to do it if there hasn't been a challenge or an official review because you don't want to prompt the other coach or officials to do so. But I do with they would show us more replays of important events.
• I haven't noticed a huge problem with the plays they do show. During the game, if I can't see well enough, I find the video screens provide a great alternative.
• I disagree almost 100%. I wish they would make the video larger and the stat column smaller. As it stands, a huge portion of the screen is essentially wasted space. They could take all of the stats and put them in the smaller boards underneath the big boards and have enough space to show what is needed. If they wanted to take up a small bar at the bottom of the screen + the lower one, that would be fine as well. They could even increase the size of the font they use so it's easier to see. There's a ton of space that's just simply wasted in the graphic they currently use. Why have huge HD video boards if you're going to waste them on fairly static graphics? You could do that with a non-digital board for all I care.

He looked great all night, one of the bright spots of that game. I just wish that Alabama didn't need to score in order for us to see him.

Being on the waiting list is different than being a season ticket holder and asking for more seats.....meaning you have 2 season tickets and you want 4. That's what the OP was talking about.

I can't imagine too many students would benefit from going to women's volleyball matches. And heck, if there's some student out there that wants to sit through tons of less-than-exciting sports to build up their Michigan Loyalty points - then I say, all the more power to them. There's probably less than 500 total students who'd really benifit from "other sports" outside of football, hockey and basketball.

You're not, OSU didn't need to win, in fact, by them winning it now gives them a share of the big ten title if they beat MSU. So if Michigan wins out and OSU beats MSU there will be a 3 way tie for the title. I guess you could argue that OSU will be playing for something against MSU now which means they'll have a better chance of winning, but no matter what happened last night we need to win 2 games and they need to beat MSU to get a title.

it is a great show, I'm DVR'ing it right now. Certainly one of the best shows on the basic cable channels (not HBO or Showtime).

I wish the seasons were longer thought. The first season was only like 6 episodes...I don't know if that's because they didn't expect it to last or if that's because that was how long the book series went.

I didn't particularly like the episodes when they were in the bottom of that government building in the first season but I'm loving this season now that they're a smaller group out on their own and this farm group that they're staying with is pretty interesting.

To be fair to Valenti (whome I hate BTW)....I've unfortunately listened, while bored, at work over the past week or so and he's been relitivly fair about it - broken system and Michigan should obviously take advantage of it and enjoy it. Also, it's all about money. I'm not sure I totally dissagree with him on this one. Sparty, in a fair world, should have gone to a better bowl than us - and last year would have simply won the big ten outright and gone to the Rose because of their record. On the flip side though - they had every opertunity to go to the rose bowl and they didn't win the game. So they have no one to blame but themselves for losing that game and can blame the system all day long for Michigan jumping them - but that's the system that is in place and they knew what would happen if they lost well before that game was played.

That's exactly what I'm looking for. So I wonder, still, what happens if Michigan loses this weekend where we end up

I'm just wondering where that leaves us? Is it BCS bowl or Outback for us? Or would we slip into the cap one bowl? This is especially a good question if MSU does actually win and we're up against a Wisconsin or PSU who we have really no obvious tie-breakers with.

Last week I looked at our thermometer right before we left for the game and it was 43....so yes - especially when you factor in the wind and the fact that we're not walking around campus. We're sitting, or standing, in one spot for 3 hours.

Here's my problem with the late-fall maize-outs, and I'm sure I'm not alone, but I don't own a yellow winter jacket. These games are generally pretty cold and even if I owned a yellow Michigan sweatshirt (which I don't, only blue ones) it would still be too cold. I've worn a t-shirt over my winter jacket before, but that essentially ruins the t-shirt you're wearing because it stretches it out too much. It's easy in the early fall when it's 70-80 out to just wear a maize t-shirt but it gets increasingly harder as the temp drops.

Yeah, the problem is the BCS standings don't come out until AFTER we play MSU. So we have a pretty big roadblock in our way to a top ten BCS standing.

I'm not sure that '05 penn state game was that important either. I mean we only got 7 wins that year, it's not like we needed the win to go to the rose bowl or anything. I think the '05 Penn State team, in hindsight, was a MUCH better team than the ND team we beat. Looking back and being the only loss to that PSU team preventing them from a NC was kind of awesome but at the time it wasn't as imporant, I'd say, as getting Hoke off to a good start.
