I propose 2 Buckeyes as options- Larry Johnson (OSU DL coach) and Marcus Freeman (Cincy DC). Johnson has developed fantastic DL while at PSU and OSU but he is 67 years old so possibility or negative recruiting. Freeman is 34 years old and an up and comer. Both should be able to recruit the talent needed to compete and both know the inner workings of OSU. They might be able to help build the winning culture and bring some inside knowledge of game prep.
He does a great job of running "manball," but also mixing in read option as well. He has coached the offensive line and has significant NFL experience. He is from FL and knows the south (GA at Alabama).
He's young and could bring some energy and youth to the staff. Also, looking extremely far down the line, he could be a logical heir to the HC job if Hoke were to make it that far.
