Looking forward to the game if only because I'd like to see us have a decent game on offense so I can have some more hope going into next year, even if it is only a couple weeks away already. I'm not as down about things as most others are here.
|14 hours 43 min ago||Pretty disgusting?||
That was a dick move and it definitely seemed like a mob mentality, but come on, it was snow. And yes, that "old man" is still old regardless of being a physics professor. What does that matter? If he worked at Wal-Mart then it's OK for him to get pelted with snowballs? It obviously wasn't just football players involved in this anyway. Bottom line is it was a fun idea that went over the top but really isn't that huge a deal.

Ugh. This is as little brother as it gets.

I don't know if you plan on going back to max/min upvoting, but if you go back to how it was just previously, I'd like to at least be able to upvote and downvote a little more. Not for points but because if someone makes a really dumb comment, I'd like that comment to get down to -5 or so, so that it's harder for them to be upvoted and ungrayed.
Warnings about being close to getting banned may be helpful, but I'm also thinking that might just look like some perceived threat from a mod and people might get pissed off about threats like that.
I downvoted BBrown's last post because he had some thing at the end talking about what idiots were going to post in the comments, which really just invites trolls. It's basically like saying "come at me, brah!"

But considering none of the SEC's games are on channels like BTN, and Pac-12 and Longhorn Networks, these seem very much skewed towards favoring the SEC. Of course ESPN games are going to have more viewers than the more regional, less well-known sports networks.

Um, you do realize he was advocating Florida to jump Michigan, right? And that Michigan had lost a game as opposed to being undefeated as Ohio is now?
|5 days 1 hour ago||I really don't see how it||
I really don't see how it matters for us who wins. I look at preventing the situation where the winner gets the most benefit, and that would certainly be Ohio in the NC game.
|5 days 1 hour ago||Yeah I think that's what the||
Yeah I think that's what the bowl predictions are saying. Either way, MSU's almost guaranteed to be in the Rose Bowl. I also would imagine Ohio would be in a BCS game with a loss. I'm pulling for MSU unfortunately because I don't want Ohio to win it all, especially if they get lucky with a Winston-less FSU. Actually, if I had to bet, I'd put money on State. Ohio's passing game really isn't much to brag about, and I think State's too good to be allowed to focus on Ohio's run game, as good as that is.

I'll appreciate him more if he does a UFR for The Game this year...
|1 week 4 days ago||Not sure but it seems more||
Not sure but it seems more often than not most HCs are known for being more involved on the offensive side, so they're probably not as worried about getting a big-name OC.
|1 week 5 days ago||Um no, execution comes down||
Um no, execution comes down to how coaches teach technique. He's taken blame for execution as well. I'm upset with the season as well, but it's so dumb how people are outraged that Hoke and Borges don't commit ritual suicide at a presser to show their contrition.

Either way, he's not coming. I guess most of the posters here weren't around when all that business was getting discussed here.
|1 week 6 days ago||The score may not be a total||
The score may not be a total blowout, but it's likely the O will put up a performance that doesn't allow any faith in them even scoring a TD, let alone making a comeback. So yeah, it will probably seem over.

This is actually an intriguing idea...except that Michigan would be in it this year.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||I was at that game and over||
I was at that game and over the years it became increasingly depressing to think that was the last time we had beaten them. Finally winning again under Hoke was cathartic.

Definitely. And Beilein for lighting up the place, although I haven't been there for a game since he's been coach unfortunately.

Damn you. Now I feel bad. Let's hug it out.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||It's just mindboggling to me||
It's just mindboggling to me that people can't understand cause and effect. As if everything magically resets from time to time, such as when a new head coach is hired. You could downplay it, or claim "Yes, but...", but you can't make a rational argument and simply deny that RR's recruiting has nothing to do with our current problems.

You're right. Thank you for informing me that having highly-ranked recruits is a good thing.

Exactly. Witty comments like the first reply are exactly what made this board entertaining. Erik is just being a sensitive douche. That's all I got. Nothing witty.

Yes, and if a large group of workers failed at a job, surely everyone should be fired instead of finding out whether certain employees are to blame or seeing if there's a problem with the task and resources given to the workers in the first place.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Right. The more likely||
Right. The more likely scenario is that Borges is a complete moron who only got OC jobs because of turning tricks in the locker rooms and has fielded pretty good offenses because there was always a secret OC who actually runs things.
I'm not sure if the OP is completely right, but it certainly sounds plausible. Last season Brian talked a lot about the WRs making reads as well, and I wonder if Borges just doesn't know how to simplify his offense enough, coupled with terrible blocking that should be attributed more to Funk than Borges. People can't think beyond the possibilities that Borges is not a genius or a moron. I'd bet any experienced college OC could run enough complexity for an NFL offense.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||Yes, thank you. I was a||
Yes, thank you. I was a philosophy major but I'm also aware of the fact that "begging the question" is a terrible phrase for what it's supposed to mean. Criticizing someone for saying it in the sense of raising a question is like criticizing people for calling people from the nation of India "Indians", correcting them that it should refer to native populations of the Americas.

Yes. Although I do also have your fear about Hoke's mindset on offense. Obviously it doesn't help to replace Borges with a Borges clone.

Yeah there's not a chance in hell RR would have won 11 games the way his defenses played, and I even wanted RR to get another year.
