"He makes it really easy on you as a coach because he has tremendous football instincts," Michigan tight ends coach Jay Harbaugh said. "Things come really naturally to him. He doesn't have to see things too many times. He has a good sense for how things should look and feel, and he's a tough, physical guy."

I believe he meant dropping the rainbow part was homophobic. I assume they dropped the rainbow part because of worries about gay people, but I don't remember any specific statements about that.
EDIT: JamieH explains below.

Um, no they probably don't cover themselves in rainbows, because they're soldiers and not a football team. Are you under the impression that the US Army doesn't have standard uniforms but instead does Oregon-type uniformz for each division?

But you're totally going to. Right, brah?
|16 hours 31 min ago||Seriously, what's going on||
Seriously, what's going on with this? It just cut out a few times. I haven't seen anything but a second of game time since about 15 minutes ago when the 1st quarter ended. Is it happening on the regular broadcast?

Agreed. Loved to hear about how Beilein feels great about all the possibilities on offense and is going to throw a lot at them and see what they can handle. So excited for this season.
Maybe it was a UMhoops article I read before, but they also mentioned how Michigan could put out a very long lineup at times that could be really tough using the 1-3-1.
|2 days 51 min ago||Well, they were getting||
Well, they were getting competent in the running game. The passing game...not so much. Not saying Nuss was a huge problem last year. It's impossible to say because obviously the whole thing needed to be scrapped.
Agreed on Harball. Yes, Michigan is a tough team and that helps, but all the pundits I hear just think Michigan is doing well because they're tougher and meaner than the other team, and we're just Michigan, fergodsakes.

Wow, hadn't thought of that but off the top of my head I can't tell who else is up there. Who else would be close?
Closest I could come up with after thinking a minute actually was Wisconsin. Maybe the B1G has the top 4, although Wisconsin is slipping in football and basketball this year.
|3 days 7 hours ago||I think to say no one should||
I think to say no one should see that ever is a little over the top, but I agree it seems pretty gratuitous showing a gif of it so it just replays over and over. That's one of the worst football injuries I've ever seen.

Certainly fair to be skeptical, but then what would be your theory as to why he took a giant step back in year 2 at Houston?

1. Caveats aren't supposed to correct it. They're there so we don't take it as seriously as we'd like. It's not a matter of being usable or not. The question is how usable.
2. Why wouldn't they be so low? They did absolutely nothing offensively against UCLA and Michigan. The stats adjust for opponent strength, so even if FCS teams count, blowing them out doesn't count for a whole lot.

Awesome. Thanks for that. I've been clicking the mgoboard site, which lists a few more topics than what fits on the sidebar of the main page, or clicking recent to see some on the 2nd page that have gotten bumped, or just looking it at on the mgoblog app, where I can see everything.
|5 days 6 hours ago||I'm not interested in||
I'm not interested in watching people bloviate on ESPN, but come on, predicting a college football season is a total crapshoot. Seriously, how many of us expected Michigan to just absolutely annihilate BYU by the end of the first half? I felt pretty optimistic about the game, but no one can even predict what will happen in the next week, let alone over the course of the season.

He played in games. I'm pretty sure playing makes you a player. I could be wrong though.
Also, I don't know all the celebrities and former players who were down there, but I hope Hackett charged them good money for sideline action. This ain't no charity. #BLL

"Let's see how Rudock would have fared against them at the spring game."
LOL. Yeah, Rudock is only starting because he wasn't in the spring game where he surely would have looked bad. I suppose in fall camp Rudock just played against stationary tackle dummies, right?
|6 days 19 hours ago||Rudock is definitely not||
Rudock is definitely more than mediocre at best. And I'd bet money any of the other QBs would have performed worse than Rudock if they had been in there. I don't even get your point about the defense. How did that help Rudock? BYU punted a lot so that's why Rudock made some good plays scrambling for TDs I guess...

Thanks for the input. Don't be late for your remedial reading class at 2 today.
|6 days 20 hours ago||The craziest thing is||
The craziest thing is Michigan really let off the gas against UNLV and I'd say BYU as well. I'm not saying the spread is overrated or anything, but spread teams do tend to just keep putting up insane numbers well after the game is over because they keep up tempo and are inherently explosive, which tends to really skew things against terrible teams.

Cool, thanks. That's useful.
"The bad news is that the Wildcats got hit with a slew of injuries, with seven different players needing to leave the game. That included safety Godwin Igwebuike, defensive end Ifeadi Odenigbo and left tackle Geoff Mogus. "
That's exactly the kind of info I was hoping to find. I knew it was close and even watched the last half of the 4th quarter, but I didn't know about the injuries and probably wouldn't have unless it got mentioned in the B1G part of the mgoblog podcast.
|1 week 4 hours ago||I'm insanely excited after||
I'm insanely excited after this game, so I'm not trying to temper that, but I don't get why everyone makes the point that he's technically a freshman but 22 years old. The dude wasn't off practicing with NFL squads for a couple years. He was on a Mormon mission. If anything, I'd think the time off left him further behind than he would have been out of college.

Also team purple. I noticed this before BYU. Having said that, I'm usually watching on crappy internet feeds so I didn't think too much of it.

I'm not sure what's interesting about this post either, but it's not even close to being the least thread-worthy post.
