At least we'll finally find out soon enough.

"just because Brian says there is no chance that Morris starts (and I agree) doesn't mean there really isn't."
This stuff gets so annoying. People think Gardner is a sure starter because he performed quite well despite an absolutely terrible interior OL and subsequent lack of a running game and will have a lot of experience over Morris, not because Brian said so. Saying "just because Brian says" makes it sound like there aren't actual reasons for believing it. As if Brian just read it in fucking tarot cards and people here blindly follow him.

I don't get this. The guy worked hard here for 4 years, and assuming McGary's back, he's only going to be a backup anyway. As for what he said about Beilein's system, everything I heard was entirely accurate. Wasn't Michigan right around the very bottom of the list for most post touches in college ball this past year? You can love Beilein and Michigan and still admit the obvious fact that it's not an offense predicated on feeding the post and letting a guy go to work down low.

Not sure why this is getting downvoted. I thought the same. It doesn't mean it's not valuable info; it just makes it easier to navigate the front page.

I said it isn't THAT popular anymore. Clearly, there are a number of sports more popular and valuable. The NFL still makes tons of money despite not being on PPV. The point is Mayweather's value outstrips the popularity of his sport considering he's by far the highest-paid athlete even though he's in the...6th(?) most popular sport. So is it just simple division? Seeing as he's not sharing with any teammates.

I haven't played much organized sports, but I don't really buy it. One of the things that's stuck with me the most from psychology has been how much people don't understand their own minds. People make up narratives that clearly aren't true and are convinced of it, everyone thinks they're better than the average person at everything, people ignore facts and reason (e.g., evolution), etc. You feel like you have a hot hand because up until that point...you have.
|1 week 1 day ago||Has there actually been a lot||
Has there actually been a lot of research on that with sports though? I usually heard about it more in terms of something like playing music, which makes more sense because it's just something in which you an let yourself go and play away continuously. It's not like someone's trying to actively stop you, unlike sports where you have more discrete events and you have to be more analytical about the situation.

How is Mayweather so high when boxing isn't that popular anymore? Is it that huge in other countries? I know PacMan is huge in the Philippines, but I doubt Mayweather is so popular. And anyway I don't think a country like that is generating tons of money for boxing. Is it just because it's not a team sport, so only 2 guys need to get paid for one event? Or perhaps because boxing still seems so popular with gamblers?

And all B1G, right? Worst scheduling ever. Oh cool. 4 of the bowl games I'm most interested in, and I can only watch 1 of them.

The problem with them reporting what they "know" is that most of the time they don't actually know it and it turns out to be untrue. Why would GRIII announce first? Wouldn't you want to make your decisions and take care of the business that actually matters before worrying about whether the media is aware of your intentions or not?

Sure, you can have it both ways. Accept it and point it out when it favors you, and ignore it and try to bury it when it doesn't. Easy.

Dude, seriously. It's amusing having a random Batman guy in here posting, but this isn't the first time you've made light of a terrible situation. Not to mention that you're defending the university that's dragged it's feet on rape cases. I know it's a joke, but this isn't the place. There are 10 threads on here a day and almost every other one of them is fine to make some Batman joke.

Yes, surely he must be behind Donnal because Donnal has proved so much on the court. Did you watch the team this season? Are you aware that Horford was basically a co-starter for a good chunk of it?

How much more popular is college baseball compared to the minors? Or is it more popular at all? Do they really make more money than the minors? I'd guess not actually.
|2 weeks 19 hours ago||How are you so sure there's||
How are you so sure there's money to be made? NFL Europe didn't work out. It's not like there's some obvious yearning for football there. Football is much harder to get off the ground and sustain, unlike soccer, basketball, or baseball.

Interesting. If you scroll down it shows the 3 words that were most influential on your cities. Where do you think you might have picked them up? From the movies? That wouldn't be surprising considering how many shows and films are in NY.
|2 weeks 23 hours ago||Same here about Devil's||
Same here about Devil's Night. I hadn't done this quiz before, but I saw the maps of all the different pronunciations and phrases posted, and I was shocked that it was basically only a southeast Michigan thing. I just assumed everyone knew it.
Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Toledo for me.
The interesting thing is looking at who in the country is least similar to me, but that seems flawed. For me, Maine is dark blue. It must be because it's only based on a few peculiar words and phrases instead of overall speech, right? I guess I can't think of anyone I know from Maine, but I couldn't imagine their accent would seem even further from mine than someone in the Deep South. A lot of the words and their choices in the quiz do touch on southern accents, but there are differences besides "crayon" and "lawyer". The East Coast, Appalachia, and the South are all blue for me.

So what happens if Ohio passes this, and other states don't? Ohio would be totally screwed in recruiting if athletes' rights change the way they inevitably seem to be changing.

Exactly. What happened a couple hundred years ago is irrelevant to the present. Just like the founding fathers have nothing to do with our current political system because events in the past don't have any effects on the future.

Actually, I watch Bill Maher and he often makes jokes about Asians driving. Also, a white guy like Louis C.K. can do a whole piece joking about the N-word. Yet, those guys are famous and celebrated and aren't "ripped a new one".
