You could say that. I mean, you'd be wrong, but you could say that.

Oh, was that Max who transferred? I thought it was McGary.

I agree, but is this still possible? I haven't heard anything for a while about that other transfer Michigan was looking at.

It's not an empty set. There are still 2 elements in it.

Oh yeah. Purdue was good last year because of their top-notch guard play...

The regular season is more representative of how good a team is usually. Postseasons just keep getting bigger and longer because of the money. Although I guess some leagues like the NFL have so much parity that they need a crapshoot playoff to crown a winner.
The Warriors might not repeat as champs despite obviously being the best team this year because of Curry being injured.

I wouldn't say "not much at all". But anyway, even if they're just exaggerating things, the main difference between basketball and soccer is the game doesn't stop for 5 minutes for fake injury treatment in basketball. That's more than just embellishing contact. Also, exaggerating contact in basketball doesn't get you something nearly as rewarding as a penalty kick or a well-placed free kick. I don't watch a lot of soccer but I certainly watch enough to have formed an opinion. I'm not just piggybacking on what other people say.
And I don't really care about comparing it to the NBA because I don't watch the NBA anyway :)

Given European fare, on average I'd bet more Europeans eat steak and drink whole milk than Americans do.
Having said that, all the diving really is my least favorite thing about soccer. You could take out so much of it too if you just handed out a few yellow cards for it. I'm pretty sure you can actually get a yellow card for diving, right? But it seems incredibly rare. And diving gets rewarded way too often.
It's also amazing how much soccer players are allowed to fuck with refs. You'll see them basically chest bump a ref as the ref is backing away. Some of those guys would be suspended for the season if they acted as they do in major American sports.
I was thinking about going to Rio for the Olympics, but flights and tickets to events are a lot more than I thought they'd be.

"Jones isn't a Buckeye anymore. Neither is Cook a Spartan. As far as I'm concerned they're now NFL prospects."
But people here are obviously talking about them because they're former MSU and OSU players...

Do people really have a hard time understanding the e-mail or do they just not care? Or maybe people don't know there were 2 proposals. He said he voted for the one preferable to the Pac-12 given that one of them would pass. Obviously that was bad info, and he seems like a fool for believing it, but that's the rationale.
Having said that, weren't there only a handful of people there? He talks about being on the floor like it's the House with hundreds of people. He seems like an idiot or a liar.

One day I'll read a thread on this board where no one takes irrelevant shots at WD or Magnus. One day...
Anyway, I use an electric razor. I don't have thick facial hair. One thing that helps is while I'm still wet after I turn off the water, I rub some baby oil on my stubble. It only takes 5 seconds.Then dry off like normal. Somehow it doesn't make my towel oily and nasty and it definitely irritates my skin less when I shave.

No way. He's not ready. Hopefully he'll work his way into the rotation next year...

This year the defense should absolutely be one of the best in the country, and there will be a lot of talent next year, but I'd be willing to bet a lot of money that the defense next year will be worse. Not like the bottom is going to fall out, but I can't imagine the defense not taking a step back.

I recall far more of Walton's shots being blocked.

Do people seriously not see Mo Wagner's potential? He's obviously very skilled and improved over the course of the season. Obviously nothing is guaranteed, but it's not hard to see him being a really high-quality player next season.
|4 weeks 11 hours ago||Yes, exactly. Irvin can still||
Yes, exactly. Irvin can still be a really big-time player. Playing against a bunch of 4's after back surgery was probably tough. I'd love to see what he'd do with a full recovery and playing the 3.
|4 weeks 2 days ago||"Harbaugh is the master at||
"Harbaugh is the master at things you can't chart on a graph: a competitive environment, toughness, pride, and sacrifice." I mean, that's exactly what Brian is saying.
I think you have a misunderstanding of "feelingsball". He knows there's more to football than just technique, stats, etc. That's why he had the feelingsball section and talked about how he feels better about this team given that they do work hard, put in long hours, etc. as you say. I'm not sure how his take on that conflicts with his stance against the charade of amateurism.
Having said that, the sometimes sarcastic tone of "feelingsball" comes from the fact that way too often people do attribute things to "grit" or "heart" that they can't reasonably evaluate by watching a football game. And any time you talk about "feelingsball" too much, you're often just seeing what you want to see, when you should instead be pointing out things you can reasonably evaluate, like how good the running game was. Yes, Harbaugh is a master of competition and motivation and all that, but he also has great schemes and is a great QB coach, and that's a huge part of why last year's team was a lot better than if Hoke had coached it.
Devin Gardner didn't lack heart. He lacked competent QB coaching.

It's crucial. Without the Fab 5 banners, how am I supposed to call for Beilein's head? Let's recount the past glory of Michigan basketball once more...

I thought it was pretty obviously about the shoes. Not that the shoes look bad at all. Of course WD gets a million upvotes and downvotes for it though lol. WD can't make a post without half of the comments being about WD himself. Shit's ridiculous here.
|5 weeks 9 hours ago||I do think it's a little||
I do think it's a little shitty, but I really don't think this is a big deal. "These places" only comprises the B1G. Beilein does have a point talking about training Spike. I think players should get paid and all that, but come on, most jobs' working hours aren't composed of 95% practice and training.
I'd be fine with Beilein letting him transfer to a B1G school, and if I had a vote, I would vote in favor of a rule that lets grad transfers go wherever they want (I thought this was already the case), but this just isn't something that really raises the needle with me.
Also, Spike doesn't seem all that broken up about it.

So if a guy has 2 years of eligibility, it's totally cool to restrict him? And if he has 1 year of eligibility, it's wrong? I just don't see how this is a big deal.

Didn't the US already at least waltz through the dregs of CONCACAF? They hadn't lost to Guatemala since the 80's. It doesn't just look like a lack of progression under Klinsmann. It looks like an historic regression.
