No, it's a stupid debate. People are still impressed with Tony Gibson as WVU's DC. There are too many factors involved in different tenures at different places at different times with different supporting casts to say Arizona gave up a lot of points in 2 games, so let's talk about how that says something undeniable about RR at Michigan sans Casteel.

"Did they expect sober people to want to eat that?"
Really? Have you been to America? Every time I go back I'm just blown away by the waistlines. Also, I used to work at Little Caesar's. The Italian cheese bread, which was a buttered pan with some dough and tons of cheese on top and then butter and parmesan on top after it's finished, often had requests for extra butter and cheese and people would buy a side of ranch or cream cheese to dip it.

Budapest isn't Timbuktu. Besides which, people below have already offered some info.
badjuju81 is a random guy on mgoblog to any of us. Not sure how it makes sense to name drop to impress people on the internet you will never meet or see or actually talk to.

What's wrong with asking? The readership here has gotten pretty large. I might be more surprised if no one who visits this blog knows some Budapest sports bars. All it takes is studying abroad for a semester. Or even having work there for a week or whatever.

Huh? I didn't notice anyone shitting on Budapest...
Anyway, you can use BTN2Go International without a VPN. Not sure if BTN2Go works the same way but for the international package only games aired on BTN are live. If a game is on another network you have to wait til about midnight Saturday night EST.

It was a good job. But Harbaughs staff is doing an even better job. The defense last year was good and this year they're elite. Also, it helps that we barely lost anyone on defense. Even with last year's staff, this D would have improved. Just not this much probably

Well, he did say "much". Vague, but I'd still call that accurate. This blog isn't that old.
|5 days 6 hours ago||Ah you're right. On wikipedia||
Ah you're right. On wikipedia it listed his tenure as starting in 2000, so I assumed that was his first season but he didn't get hired until mid-December of that year.
Another thing I didn't mention though (not as a reply to the above poster), is that it just would look awful to fire a coach less than a year and half into his tenure. You don't need to go to Texas to win big. Who would want a job with a leash that short? They at least have to be perceived as giving Strong a shot, whether they think the writing is on the wall or not
|5 days 6 hours ago||Seriously. No, they didn't||
Seriously. No, they didn't play great, but looking at this and the snowflakes thread, it's amazing how much doom and gloom there is out there for 4-1 season in which our defense is elite and our single loss came on the road to a really good team.
Not to mention how much better off we are compared to the last 9 years.

"The criticism of Pete Carroll became louder when Carroll's first USC team opened the 2001 season going 2–5"
That was Carroll's second season. I don't think you have to give a guy 4 years, but canning Charlie after 2 years would be a mistake. A lot of elite coaches do well quickly, but not all situations are the same. Besides which, I don't know Strong's contract details, but I'm guessing there's still a hefty buyout after year 2.
Also, to the poster above, giving a coach 4 years didn't become a thing. Programs used to have way more patience with coaches than they do nowadays.
On another note, I didn't see the game but saw in that short little clip that another punt sailed over the punter's head. Jesus. Their special teams coach might be worse than Dan Ferrigno.

I believe he meant dropping the rainbow part was homophobic. I assume they dropped the rainbow part because of worries about gay people, but I don't remember any specific statements about that.
EDIT: JamieH explains below.

Um, no they probably don't cover themselves in rainbows, because they're soldiers and not a football team. Are you under the impression that the US Army doesn't have standard uniforms but instead does Oregon-type uniformz for each division?

Seriously, what's going on with this? It just cut out a few times. I haven't seen anything but a second of game time since about 15 minutes ago when the 1st quarter ended. Is it happening on the regular broadcast?

Agreed. Loved to hear about how Beilein feels great about all the possibilities on offense and is going to throw a lot at them and see what they can handle. So excited for this season.
Maybe it was a UMhoops article I read before, but they also mentioned how Michigan could put out a very long lineup at times that could be really tough using the 1-3-1.

Well, they were getting competent in the running game. The passing game...not so much. Not saying Nuss was a huge problem last year. It's impossible to say because obviously the whole thing needed to be scrapped.
Agreed on Harball. Yes, Michigan is a tough team and that helps, but all the pundits I hear just think Michigan is doing well because they're tougher and meaner than the other team, and we're just Michigan, fergodsakes.

Wow, hadn't thought of that but off the top of my head I can't tell who else is up there. Who else would be close?
Closest I could come up with after thinking a minute actually was Wisconsin. Maybe the B1G has the top 4, although Wisconsin is slipping in football and basketball this year.

I think to say no one should see that ever is a little over the top, but I agree it seems pretty gratuitous showing a gif of it so it just replays over and over. That's one of the worst football injuries I've ever seen.

1. Caveats aren't supposed to correct it. They're there so we don't take it as seriously as we'd like. It's not a matter of being usable or not. The question is how usable.
2. Why wouldn't they be so low? They did absolutely nothing offensively against UCLA and Michigan. The stats adjust for opponent strength, so even if FCS teams count, blowing them out doesn't count for a whole lot.

Awesome. Thanks for that. I've been clicking the mgoboard site, which lists a few more topics than what fits on the sidebar of the main page, or clicking recent to see some on the 2nd page that have gotten bumped, or just looking it at on the mgoblog app, where I can see everything.

I'm not interested in watching people bloviate on ESPN, but come on, predicting a college football season is a total crapshoot. Seriously, how many of us expected Michigan to just absolutely annihilate BYU by the end of the first half? I felt pretty optimistic about the game, but no one can even predict what will happen in the next week, let alone over the course of the season.
