It's "bring berk RR and Casteer!"
|9 hours 19 min ago||Exactly. Like Brian said||
Exactly. Like Brian said before, Hoke would have come to Michigan at any point, so there shouldn't have been a rush to get him. Brian did say he was fine with letting RR go, but I'm not sure he said it had to be done, and anyway, he didn't think Brandon was dead set on Hoke like it appears he was.

Also, no one has ever hacked a company. Ever. Think about it. A nerd is in his parents' basement stealing private data and money from a rich corporation? Unthinkable!

Brian didn't talk about Michigan not knowing their best players in regard to Glasgow. All he said was it was super weird. He was talking about Ross, a guy who was barely on the field earlier this year.
|2 weeks 17 hours ago||What would be a reason for||
What would be a reason for the coaches wanting him to attack inside? I don't know X's and O's well but one of the few things I hear all the time is not letting guys get outside, funnel things back to help. It's possible that's what they wanted him to do what he did but you should offer a reason if that's the case.
Maybe the coaches wanted Bolden to get out of his lane and get blown up on blocks. We don't know.

Unfortunately, I don't think that's true. Hoke seems pretty damn incompetent, not just old-fashioned.

I was at the Hail Mary Colorado game and I was surprised Colorado didn't just let the clock run out. They were just giving our DL another chance to make a play. What if we had sacked Kordell? Boy would their faces have been red.

I didn't even notice LordGrantham being gone. There are just too many people here. But now that I think of it, you do post a shit ton just like him, and you at least have some of the same opinions roughly, not that they're unique opinions. Livonia Wolverine doesn't post enough to be LordGrantham.

|2 weeks 4 days ago||Right. What does the media||
Right. What does the media have to do with how a coach is perceived? Calling it relatively minor is ridiculous. It was just as much of a PR storm as the Morris debacle. I'm not at all saying RR doesn't deserve a lot of the blame for screwing up here, even though some here do make it sound like an evil plot by Carr and his former players, and even without Casteel his defenses shouldn't have been as bad as they were (at least not continually), but it's just wrong to say it was all on him. Not saying you disagree with this, but I just wanna say that RR is going to get back to a big program at some point, probably sooner rather than later, and I bet that program is going to be damn good.
Uh, maybe you're just being obtuse, but the point about the former players isn't that the lack of support somehow traveled back in time to harm RR(!?!?), but what they didn't do when RR was here. Maybe that didn't affect the team. Maybe it did. But if you're claiming it didn't have any effect on the morale or performance of the team, then you have to admit the former players showing up to support the team like before the PSU game couldn't have had any effect either.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Well obviously he couldn't||
Well obviously he couldn't for a lot of the PSU game and some others, but I'd think he actually wouldn't get hit as hard running usually compared to just standing in the pocket and having guys launch at him.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||What makes you think that? DC||
What makes you think that? DC at WV or DC at Michigan for more money? But then he joins him at Arizona. So Casteel just hates Michigan? Or he hates raises?
|2 weeks 4 days ago||Right because Braylon killed||
Right because Braylon killed a dude. What's the worst he had done at that point? Complained about a lack of playing time?
I wasn't bashing Gardner. Just that even as someone who wants Hoke and Brandon gone, it's getting tiring hearing personal attacks and hyperbole like the comment I was responding to. As if Hoke would kick Gardner off the team for no reason. Anyway, just because Gardner's a good guy doesn't mean he might not have butted heads with Hoke when he was hired. Maybe Gilmore was wrong, but later in this thread, uncleFred said (no idea what's up with the formatting):
"Gardner has said that he had some attitude issues much earlier. At some point, according to him, as he got to know Hoke better he bought into what the coaches were trying to do. Not surprising that a highly ranked dual threat QB might have some reservations about a coaching change to a coach with a very different philosophy. Equally unsurprising that a guy like Hoke might think it best for a talented player who is resistant to the direction of the program might be better off elsewhere."

Actually, there were a lot of examples. Have you never heard of stretchgate? Did you not hear about when Hoke got hired and a bunch of former players came back, and they asked Van Bergen about how awesome it must be and he basically said, "Yeah, it's great. But then again, where were these guys last year?"

Right. Mullen has just as good a track record as Saban.
|2 weeks 4 days ago||There can be a transition||
There can be a transition period, you know? For all the shit Borges took, usually rightfully so, it's not like he just completely got rid of Denard as a runner, like we've done with Gardner, likely to the demise of Hoke's tenure here.
People keep thinking the offense was bad in 2008 just because it was a spread, as if the lack of talent had nothing to do with it. The defense is still young, the O-line should be awesome next year with good coaching, Morris is way more talented than Sheridan or Threet were, etc.
