My first memories of a Michigan game aren't at all sharp, but I vaguely remember beating Maryland by a bunch of points. That '90 game is either my first there, or the first that I have the slightest memories of.

Now that I think of it, I don't know any bars with AFN. In Prague some places could usually get an AFN hook-up. Also, Itaewon is the place where GIs hang out haha. It's basically the area for Westerners.

And if he was visiting and talking to other schools, ya know, instead of worrying about graduation and playing football this semester, do you think Mississippi State would have been okay with that?

Jesus. Glad I watched that video. I didn't know what this speech was supposed to be. At first, I thought this was one of their players making their Tebow speech or whatever. Oftentimes movies are unrealistic in that they show some guy get shot 40 times and he's still going, but comparing what he said with that movie clip, they actually had to tone it down. If they showed Wahlberg taking all that punishment and then also getting his nose smashed into his skull and holding his ripped off tongue between his teeth, everyone would have thought, "Come on! Yeah right. This isn't even possible. That guy would have been dead already."
Also, agreed about the football as war metaphor. I was totally drawn into the video and then it seemed wildly inappropriate to start showing football highlights. I mean, the guy spoke for the team, so I guess he doesn't quite feel that way, but still, it was weird.

But Dawkins isn't a big. I think that's why he's not really getting minutes. He'd be undersized as a 4 and there's no way he could be a 5

I probably won't make an effort to watch this year, sad to say. I'll probably wake up for the 2nd half at home.

Live? I highly doubt it. The Game won't start until 2 a.m. here. You could watch the first half somewhere, but the places that will be open past 5 aren't places that show live college football. At least none that I know of. You could certainly find a place that'd be playing it the next day somewhere if you just want to try avoiding facebook and all that. I did watch all of it live last year at a bar, but that's because my friend knew the owner and 4 of us just hung out watching it after the bar was already closed.
Anyway, if you can find a place, it'd be in the Itaewon/HBC area for sure. Sam Ryan's plays a lot of games, but I'm pretty sure they'll close well before it's over. I watched Hoke's first game against OSU there the day after.
Not sure if you're visiting or just moved here or what, but if you can't watch it online at your home or hotel room, PC Bangs (방 in Korean, bang = room) will be open all night and you can watch online there. Or at least some will be open all night, and they're everywhere. You'll just have to check with one beforehand to make sure they won't be closed.

I think anyone talking about Stoops for any job has no credibility when it comes to their coaching rumor info. At least these writers seem to have given up on Gruden since he hasn't coached in what? A decade?

A good example of why head to head is often overrated, like in the current TCU - Baylor debate. Head to head should be a tiebreaker all other things being mostly equal and that's it. Not to mention Baylor won by the slimmest of margins and it was a home game.

I'm also just as confused about the pronunciation of Donnal. I was annoyed by the announcers saying it that way in the first game and thought they were just screwing it up.

"He did always seem to open up the offense during OSU and bowl games"
Eh, not so sure about that, at least with bowl games. Obviously there's his send-off game where he really did, but I remember 6 running plays right up the gut for 2 and three and outs to start that Citrus Bowl (IIRC) against Tennessee where we got annihilated. Or the one Rose Bowl with USC where we kept it close through halftime until USC decided to air it out and Michigan didn't until it was too late. Carr was 6-7 overall in bowl games. The last half of his career being much worse than the first. Same goes for OSU. I got downvoted quite a bit when someone a while ago said they wished Carr was back and I said I didn't want him back. Obviously he was a great coach at one time and I appreciate all the good memories of Michigan games I have because of him, but it seemed pretty obvious the game had passed him by the last 5 or 6 years. They could still get things done against the weaker teams but his record against Oregon, OSU, and in bowl games those last few years was atrocious. Yes, he was doing well against ND still, but those were some bad ND teams.

"Blame is a term that would indicate that the refs were solely responsible for the Lions losing."
No, it isn't. Blame isn't always (and isn't usually) due to one simple cause. You're putting part of the blame for the loss on the refs. There's nothing wrong with that. Certainly refs do screw up. I'm not sure why you're so against just admitting it though.

Also, it's funny how people turn on a dime on jokes. For a long time, any joke about being fully aware or having a good practice was upvoted like crazy, and then all of a sudden everyone starts downvoting them and talking about how stale and unoriginal they are. Obviously jokes do get old, but it's pretty amazing how it seems that the change is almost instantaneous.
I should try to really experiment with it, but I swear people are more likely to upvote something with upvotes already and likewise for downvoting

If you're disturbed by Pelini swinging his arm, I guess you don't want Harbaugh here. Someone posted 3 gifs of him that were gold. Probably made him look crazier being in slow-motion.

Eh. 8-2 in the lesser division of probably the worst power 5 conference. Stomped by the only 2 good teams they played (yes, I think the comeback against State was a fluky thing with State letting up).

The median of D-1. That puts them at the bottom among power 5 conference teams. If you're at the bottom of a power 5 conference, you're terrible. Compared to D-2 and D-3 teams, Michigan's well above average if you wanna look at it that way.
