my favorite thing about the Movement festival is how well curated it is in terms of showcasing "the next big thing" in dance music. gotta get acquainted so I can make informed stage decisions |

he made me a fan forever from his Hard Knocks appearance |
| 24 weeks 6 days ago | all that handwringing at Broyles |
seems to have died down. people were up in arms about picking a WR and he's been really really good for us. |
| 24 weeks 6 days ago | more recent BCS appearance too |
and a final 4 in the last 10 years. that combination alone is something only OSU can top. |
| 24 weeks 6 days ago | jesus christ lol |
I think your emotions are getting the better of you. |
| 24 weeks 6 days ago | here's a fun fact for you |
our last BCS bowl is more recent than uga and our last final 4 appearance is more recent than UM. just saying. |
| 24 weeks 6 days ago | lol don't exaggerate |
there are always a lot of climpsun fans but it was not half and half. and the area around campus has been hipster-fied. |
| 24 weeks 6 days ago | after MTSU apathy skyrocketed |
the Miami dong punch followed by the MTSU dong drone strike dampened a lot of enthusiasm. I thought the was gonna be PJ's best team and they've disappointed massively. |
| 24 weeks 6 days ago | if he wins a 2nd crown...a while |
if not the seat gets warm. either way he needs a real DC (im hoping randy shannon) or he'll end up swinging from the same branch as RR so to speak. |

| 26 weeks 1 day ago | not how it went down |
Brantley played because that was the best they had. Trey Burton wasn't the guy for them to bet the farm on but they did anyways. I saw Burton's Venice (FL) team play a few times and Dri Archer, now a dynamo at Kent St., opened up a LOT of room for Burton to look like a star. In reality tho, it was Archer's show. |
| 26 weeks 2 days ago | UVA and VT wont be split up |

| 26 weeks 5 days ago | so that means he shouldn't try? |
lazy is bad at any position. he was pretty well regarded as a good OL prospect, so flipping someone like that isn't outrageous after a disappointing start on D. |

current staff inherited a first team all american at qb as well as a backup rated as the #1 dual threat qb in his class with (presumably) 2 years of separation between them. when was the last time a coaching staff at Michigan had something like that to work with? |
| 29 weeks 5 days ago | hey I agree with you |
gardner should have seen the field as soon as they knew denard couldn't go. |
| 29 weeks 5 days ago | uninformed comment |
Steve slaton? darius reynaud? noel devine? if you are going to talk about things, know something about them. |
| 29 weeks 5 days ago | we do. he's our best wideout. |
...allegedly |
| 29 weeks 5 days ago | um yes it does lol |
Bellomy is in his second year. expectation is for the position remember? |
| 29 weeks 5 days ago | no one has mentioned this |
but denard was throwing balls last night that were accurate, risk averse, and well timed. if chad henne had thrown those balls there would be a million posts of WR hand-wringing. roundtree (oh Roy...not good buddy), Hopkins, and the erstwhile backup QB spring to mind immediately. |
| 29 weeks 5 days ago | ok, you're crazy |
when did bellomy throw a good ball. he doesn't have first string arm strength and I somehow think the coaching staff missed that fact until last night. |
| 29 weeks 5 days ago | you lost me at sherithreet |
If Borges is the guy everyone wants him to be (he's not) he has a contingency plan when his bell cow is out (he doesn't). Denard puts Al on his back the same way he does the rest of the offense. His receivers do nothing to help him out, the lead back is WAY inside of his own head, and the right side of the line is totally out of sync. the offense is pigeonholed because no one else is making plays. |
| 31 weeks 2 days ago | his point is making a list of xfers |
if that's not your thing hit the back button and KIM. your reply is not only unnecessary but many times dumber than what you posted to complain about. |
| 31 weeks 6 days ago | it happens a lot |
it isn't quite as easy as you make it sound. coach ken is a Paul Johnson disciple and the run and shoot is built into the offense. eventually the corners get a little too aggressive in trying to hold the line, or someone loses the non-motioning A-back. |
| 32 weeks 2 days ago | Matt Elam is a beast |
the people saying he's dumb or reckless probably got their first exposure to him in this post. |
| 32 weeks 6 days ago | that was ugly to be sure |
but I don't think he is up for review till after next year |

worst loss of anyone all year up to now |
| 34 weeks 4 days ago | no *we* didnt |
the situations are opposite. sherithreet had done nothing in any system. denard was 1st team all american as a sophomore. |
| 34 weeks 4 days ago | I agree 100% |
there is more than one way to skin a cat and calling a guy with 9 of the top 10 total offense games in school history a poor qb is ridiculous. there was whining when an actual guru's offense wasn't suited to Sherithreet, 2 guys who have never done anything. now a guy who built his own rep on the legs of Ronnie brown and Cadillac Williams wont change his to fit a guy with 8000 yards and 60 tds, and people are justifying it. its bizarre. |
| 34 weeks 4 days ago | ironic |
the source of your quote could |
| 34 weeks 4 days ago | dumbest post in a while |
first of all, quincy carter? wtf. those other players you listed are players a whole offense was built around, and their teams thrived. you managed to ramble so long that you came all the way back full circle and invalidated your own argument. second of all, denard didn't ask to be the only transcendent playmaker on this team and doesn't request that the media makes note of it. if the team has hurt feelings about it then it's time to grow up. |

| 36 weeks 3 days ago | the uptempo is the killer |
I wish GT ran it that way, but an A-back runs the play on every time. only very rarely do they signal anything in, and AF had diagrams up as soon as the play was over. |
| 36 weeks 3 days ago | that's arguable |
id say Navy has set the standard for service academies lately; they're just replacing a 4 year qb |
| 36 weeks 3 days ago | when did fcs games get lines? |
in my gambling days I don't ever remember fbs-fcs matchup being handicapped? |
| 36 weeks 4 days ago | so what? |
first of all Stephen hill was a Johnson recruit. second of all what system did they actually play in? who cares who recruited them, its obvious that playing in the flex 3O doesn't keep wr's from making the NFL. |
| 36 weeks 5 days ago | that's a silly thing to say |
we've (GT) had 2 wrs drafted in the first round in the last 3 drafts, and 2 rbs drafted later |
| 37 weeks 1 day ago | i would assume he wont complete the reqs |
at CC the curriculum has no wiggle room. the plan requires all 8 semesters and summer school is not offered to speed things along. |
| 37 weeks 5 days ago | hayes and norfleet? |
rawls has a little bouncebouncebounce in him and smith doesnt have that electrifying ability to seemingly teleport himself 2 feet away. I would have liked to see Hayes or Norfleet with the ball a few times. |

| 37 weeks 5 days ago | there is one huge difference |

| 37 weeks 5 days ago | I don't believe that |
risk his health? if the coaches were scared to run him then they should have taken him out as opposed to trying to make him be something he isn't, because they left a lot of bullets in the proverbial gun by shackling him. |

al borges hasnt done anything anywhere on the level of what RR has in terms of offensive production. people say that about GT all the time. if for some reason the offense has a bad game its "the system is a gimmick system, teams figured it out" funny how people dont say that about more basic systems when they have bad games, just the spread teams who average 400+ yards a game
|
| 39 weeks 19 hours ago | but by all accounts |
Shane morris has performed exceptionally at every camp he goes to. besides that, aren't impressive physical attributes the way to win camps? |

it's been a long time since an olsm player lived up to his recruiting hype. hope that trend stops here. |
| 1 year 1 day ago | wtf are you talking about? |
are you implying he should have coached harder? I personally find the notion of giving different effort to different opponents fairly shameful. you're either saying that he should have given more than the 100% he gave to every other game (which is stupid), or that his 80% effort in the other games needed to be kicked up a notch (which is is insulting). honest to god, every day the perception of the level of discourse on this board gets further and further from reality. |

calvin johnson has been a force of nature since his first game in college when he put Clemson's AA corner over his knee for a fatherly spanking. DB is a tall and athletic unknown commodity who I hope can be half the WR calvin was as a FR. |
| 1 year 8 weeks ago | calvin was the college version of calvin |
best offensive college football player I've ever seen. he made it fun to go to games during the C*** G***** era |
| 1 year 10 weeks ago | definitely not cool, but not newsworthy either |
Im sure DLS's principal had a very unpleasant day planned for those young men. Where was the Detroit News when Livonia Stevenson would chant "C-C-Faggots! *clap clap clapclapclap*? Nowhere, because that wasn't newsworthy either. Incidentally I was at the CC- WL Central game last night and one coordinated "you suck!" was enough to send two teachers into the middle of the student section to lay the law down. |

I can't think of anyone who's thrown for 5 td's against CC before, much less on that stage. matt baker started for a few years at UNC and Im not sure he had 5 td passes against us in his whole career. |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | id take grammar errors all day |
if the content of the posts improved. the amount of posts and replies here that contain totally unfounded statements is rather large. most recent example from someone in Mitch McGary post yesterday: "centers can't handle the ball or shoot beyond 7 feet" |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | lol get a grip |
athletic department goings-on at other B1G schools have been deemed appropriate for the board yes? if the story is that upsetting to you, why are you replying? |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | wtf are you talking about |
what position did Hakeem olajuwon, arvydas sabonis, yao ming, Patrick Ewing, david robinson, etc etc play? |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | lol we didn't pluck anyone |
those kids were the 3rd string qb and 3rd string tb respectively, and the academic benefit is tangible ans obvious in those cases. every starter i can recall from the '96 to '99 teams when went i there and played started CC as a ninth grader, and we certainly didn't have anyone that was all-catholic from another school such as divine child or bishop borgess. almost all of them DID come from local catholic grade schools tho. so I still don't see your point. the big 10 makes it difficult for football players to transfer within the conference, I would like to see the catholic league do the same, unless, for the 3rd or 4th time now, its demonstrated *not* to be about sports, like a WR wanting to play with Shane Morris. obviously, scandals or cutting teams from the school would be special circumstances. |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | lol who's worried? |
I think its pretty lame, but it wont be keeping me up tonight |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | we had two transfer FB players |
while I was there. both came from public schools, Taylor Truman and Detroit Central. so what are you getting at? |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | lol, you can guarantee that? |
i'll tell you why not CC, because he's a WR. and even if he did, I still wouldn't like it. unless something happens with the family I think it's lame to switch schools for sports within the League. |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | I don't like intra-League transfers |
for sports at all. like I said, if they moved from Pleasant Ridge to Roseville, cool. im glad they are sticking with the CHSL. if its about sports I don't like it. *shrug* |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | sorry, but the world we live in |
has me casting side-eye at anything like this. particularly a receiver from slightly above average A-B division Shrine to D1 semifinalist Central Division De La Salle, who happens to be starting a top 3 qb recruit. |
| 1 year 17 weeks ago | honestly, I gotta side with Shrine here |
now if the family moved or something, yeah I get it. but to leave one Catholic League high school for another to play with a big time qb recruit should he discouraged. if the education at DLS is that much better than it is at Shrine then being ineligible for next football season shouldn't be a problem. as a former catholic leaguer I have semi-strong feelings about this type of thing going on in the league, and I'm looking forward to watching my Shamrocks ground the Pilots. |

| 1 year 18 weeks ago | agreed | |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | it doesn't really matter |
I watched a terrible GT team pound UNC by 20 last year. didn't seem to affect them in the long run. |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | lol its just an expression |
if every coach who's ever complained about giving the other team points vanished off the face of the earth, sports would cease to exist. |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | this is not a smart post |
final 4 appearances are a pretty widely accepted measure of a program's success. is every coach who has only ever won one title a fraud too? |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | by comparing him to a raven |
you can see what Mattison will do with him within the last few years |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | prison? lol |
no one goes to prison for a 10 day bid |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | not sure he'd like that |
kind of an awful thing to be reminded of constantly |
| 1 year 18 weeks ago | the catholic league is tough |
DLS played 3 state finalists in CC, OLSM, and BR. all 3 have D1 talent on defense at multiple grade levels |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | agreed on all points |
except that the Lions are good right now |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | right on cue | |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | the spelling thing is another one |
posting for the simple fact of pointing out typos is worthless and there are multiple in every thread. that's not "policing the board", its douchebaggery. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | you missed my point |
have you watched all of this Olsen kid's games? has anyone here? hoping he is (which I do, as a former catholic leaguer) is one thing, but I don't think many here are qualified to make such a statement. that was my point; a lot of uninformed opinions are allowed passes as long as they are pro-M. the fact that you call me a troll is a perfect example, just because I hope for more objectivity. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | lol no there isnt |
there is no higher standard here. people make totally unfounded statements all the time that go unchecked as long as they are pro-Blue. people talking about how Shane morris deserved to be #1 in 247 is a prime example. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | we know because |
strength and speed are totally quantifiable. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | what is that based on? |
how many of Olsen's games have you watched? dls games? |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | just so you all know |
in no way whatsoever is Arkansas state a better school than Auburn. auburn has been a top 50 public for like 20 years in a row and is 82 overall in USNWR. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | thanks for saving me the trouble | |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | you're contradicting yourself |
jordan Jefferson's claim to fame was leading them to a road win at #1 Alabama? and that's not supposed to mean something? |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | you're an idiot |
he isn't 17 years old and in high school. he's a grown man (allegedly) who makes a buttload of money generated from fans. |
| 1 year 19 weeks ago | to my knowledge those teams |
were not voted onto the super bowl. they qualified by an objective measure. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | clemson gonna clemson | |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | you say ACC but you mean |
Clemson, who oscillates wildly between '95 Nebraska and '07 EMU, no matter who is playing or coaching. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | I read that as: |
"my clemson friends have vanished. I win" I already said "yeah you did" out loud before I read what you actually wrote. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | it's going to be quiet |
clemson fans don't have a lot to say after nights like this |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | we (GT) are rarely hyped |
we got some this year because we scored an assload of points in the beginning, but we knew we were flawed. u(sic)ga showed that much. FSU on the other hand... |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | by your logic |
cmu should be expecting their 2010 rose bowl trophy any day now. don't be so obtuse, you know just as well as I do that just because a>b and b>c one saturday doesn't mean a>c always |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | that's kind of a broad generalization |
usc always looked pretty good, boise seems to play well, Utah seems to play well, lsu seems to play well, etc etc. i wish I didn't have to state the obvious next, but absolutely nothing in this comment is relates to M at all. just pointing out that saying "teams play worse in bowl games" is not factually supported. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | let's be honest |
that wasn't necessarily a "defensive game" just because scoring was low. sloppiness and mental errors kept some points off the board. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | great story. rich and compelling. |
if you can't understand why an impartial observer watching last night's game might think M was lucky to even be there...then I dont know what to tell you. your point is irrelevant in regards to the comment you responded to. im sure dudeness knows we won; I don't think he's arguing that point |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | win a conference.... |
...deserve a bid. not that difficult. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | did you purposely ignore that? |
he said staffs with both casteel and Gibson. your point about Gibson for that last four years has absolutely zero to do with what he said. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | true, but not my point |
im fully aware of david molk's accolades, but that's not what I was getting at. there was no reason for VT's ends to be scared of something big up the middle; just about everything wide got strung out save one or two runs |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | on the jet motion |
I have a feeling they were trying to run an analogue to the GT 3-O, using slot motion to mix up the D. but without giving them a reason to fear quick slashes up the middle it didn't really have its intended effect. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | don't be a reactionary doofus |
UGA won 10 straight games this year and took the SEC east. mediocre might be a little strongly worded. |

| 1 year 20 weeks ago | jesus christ...get a grip |
lol |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | VT did a very good job vs Sims |
Sims is essentially a fullback in terms of presnap position, but our B-back is always our most complete runner. however, Washington and the a-backs absolutely shredded them on the outside. 270 rush yards with only 32 yards from the B means real problems on the edge. speed option looks may be there, but VT has started selling out to the middle against our 3-O and may not emphasize that as much against M. also I think you might be underselling Boykin and Coale. that's probably the best *pair* of receivers M will have seen. Bodkin is big and fast and will test Floyd downfield. coalesce makes his living finding the spot opened up by the safety helping deep. the thing that really keeps the VT passing game from clicking imo is not having their usual quality at TE. they'll try to use Wilson to combat that. responsible play by M linebackers will be important. |
| 1 year 20 weeks ago | we're pretty shorthanded |
down 2 o-line men, the b-back (sione houma's position), and a starting corner. that being said PJ really needs to get this bowl streak ended. |
| 1 year 21 weeks ago | do you actually watch? |
or are you just repeating commonly heard refrains? Because the good teams in the league don't fit your description at all. I guess OKC isn't a great defensive team but that's a stylistic thing. |
| 1 year 22 weeks ago | i totally agree |
I had that same thought watching the game last week. their game plan, particularly on offense (and even more particularly with the running game), was outstanding. |
| 1 year 22 weeks ago | lol |
you may be underselling montee's own efforts |
| 1 year 22 weeks ago | he hasn't played a snap |
and you're of the belief he will be better than david baas? (current best guard since Hutch) |
| 1 year 23 weeks ago | Tim Tebow |
ironically the guy who wrangled him away is now on staff |
| 1 year 23 weeks ago | is there a reason for that? |
why couldn't you just say he parted ways with UM a few weeks ago? or if you are incapable of being informative, you could have been funny. either would have worked instead of telling someone to spend more time on the internet. |
| 1 year 23 weeks ago | yeah seriously |
who in their right mind would want to play for a two time national champion?? |
| 1 year 23 weeks ago | oh fuck off | |
| 1 year 24 weeks ago | log off | |
| 1 year 24 weeks ago | I really hope this was a joke, but |
I have a feeling it isn't. show some respect for the game and the athletes. |
| 1 year 25 weeks ago | girls? |
we don't have any of those lol |
| 1 year 25 weeks ago | who hurt you? | |
| 1 year 25 weeks ago | I was at that game too |
I remember joe jonna getting like 4 attempts from deep in the last 10 seconds before he finally buried the tying 3. also, lusky was hacked on the final play. that is all. |
| 1 year 25 weeks ago | also a CC grad. |
i promise this not how we operate. |
| 1 year 25 weeks ago | that's a good sign to me |
only the ones that could be great get called out like that |
| 1 year 26 weeks ago | are you sure? |
id be surprised if the ends are coached to let pullers come across their faces like that. also demens getting caught up in the wash didn't help; it doesn't look like he was even blocked (thanks to will campbell holding up against a dbl), just let himself get sealed off on the wrong side of a scrum |
| 1 year 26 weeks ago | the defense can get themselves off the field |
the defense can get themselves off the field by getting stops. |
| 1 year 27 weeks ago | that's the lamest thing I've ever read |
winning the game is always the beat case scenario |
| 1 year 28 weeks ago | well I should have kept reading |
the "support paterno" stuff is cringe inducing. I retract and apologize. |
| 1 year 28 weeks ago | that's some A+ moralizing |
so these kids are shortsighted and inexperienced for rallying to support their classmates? I love this website but the high horses some of you people ride on are ridiculous. |
| 1 year 28 weeks ago | that's where I am with it |
once they kicked up the tempo, the offense looked fine. id like to see them do that in the first quarter this week. |
| 1 year 30 weeks ago | cc alum? |
im class of 2000 |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | lol wow |
way to take the high ground by wishing an injury on a misguided kid. |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | hey, im keith hernandez | |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | lol jesus christ |
wild speculation much? |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | lol wut? |
Kovacs ripped persa's helmet off with a dangerous tackle attempt. persa never even hit the ground |
| 1 year 31 weeks ago | I think you are right |
the wing T is a 2 TE, 3 RB offense. that was our base offense at Catholic Central in the 90's. |
| 1 year 33 weeks ago | take your common sense and gtfo plz | |
| 1 year 34 weeks ago | "carving"? |
14-26 for 131 and a pick? he may be Blue soon, but hes purple and gold now. glad to see the Shamrocks take care of business. |
| 1 year 34 weeks ago | while he was at Michigan, yes |
but thats not true of his offense as a whole. there is a bunch of stuff in his offense that we never got to see, probably because of qb inexperience. |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | 31% increase in likelihood of losing | |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | every comment is not whining |
the field was in terrible shape |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | YOU WIN TEH INTERWEBZ!! | |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | they are smiling in SF |
didnt candlestick park host a world series the same year the Niners went to the SB? |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | safety issues? |
as in playing on a surface not meant for football? |
| 1 year 35 weeks ago | none of that made any sense |
somehow the tigers can pack the house without anarchy erupting. and that area hosts the electronic music festival and hoedown. a lot of reasons not to do this but that is dumb. |
| 1 year 36 weeks ago | yep | |
| 1 year 36 weeks ago | so what is security like now? |
havent been since the 2007 osu game and im flying in tonight. as an alum of a southern school im used to drinking smuggled alcohol during games. what is the likelihood of successfully bringing in a pint of whiskey? |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | 4 bcs bowls in the 00's |
suggest otherwise |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago |
i disagree with your assessment of Flint Powers. they havent won a conference game since 2007. |
|
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | lol...mick mccabe eviscerated him over that |
mick mccabe's prep reporting is the highlight of the freep sports section |
| 1 year 37 weeks ago | what are you watching? |
aubutn and uf played manball by slamming their 250 lb qb directly into the line. not by running I-form isos. usc's offense is pro style all the way. they are kind of irrelevant in spread and shred discussions. oklahoma throws the ball 50 times a game. and never runs their qb. so....what are you saying? |
