Robinson is so tough, how's come he hurt his shoulder already without really playing a whole lot?

I'm More Amazed

That the guy was able to pin the blame on Lloyd Carr!

I mean, three years in and Rodriguez's special teams suck worse than ever--AND Lloyd is to blame!

Damn you Lloyd Jonathan Carr--DAMN YOU ALL TO HELL!

DucatiDork

Dude, you can avoid "Epic Fail" status by doing one of two simple things:

1) When you make a stupid post, just issue this mea culpa: "Sorry, ol' boys, but I was up writing a 500 page paper because I'm a Michigan student and, well, you know..."

OR

2) "Sorry ol boys, but my iPhone app won;t work from this beach in Singapore, where I'm weekending with a few other Michigan grads like myself who graduated from Michigan and are now rich, mahogany laced businessmen doing business"

Woodson Greer

I don't know anything about him. But since we're always getting this kind of thread now, I'd like to know if anyone's got any info on what Charles Grodin has been doing lately????

Bad Effort

I think you might consider that you are spending too much time, er, "thinking" about Denard Robinson.

Why not just have him sign your forehead. maybe the chicks will think that's really cool.

A Little Known Fact About BGSU Fans

When they get drunk at football games, they sometimes eat children.

Just thought you should know about that.

Recruiting

Their Texas ties will probably be strengthened by playing the likes of OSU, Michigan, Penn State and others. And they'll probably add a Texas team to their non-con schedule on a regular basis.

Right now they do a Texas Two Step by playing UT and A&M two years on, two years off--so that's not much of a recruiting angle. If the Big Ten goes to that 9-game shedule instead of a Big 12 rotation thingy, there will be a regular slate of big games.

WRT recruiting, Nebraska doesn't get the "biggies" out of Texas, anyway. They get a fair share of leftovers after Texas picks who they want and A&M sifts through them also. Then there's Oklahoma, which gets the bulk of their roster from Texas.

But why would a move to the Big Ten affect their ability to take Jucos? That's a school-by-school policy, IIRC. The bIg Ten used to force Jucos to sit out a year after transferring, then they dropped that. If these guys get the grades, they're in. And Nebraska took many more Jucos under Callihan than they do under Pellini--and that will decrease more with successful seasons (that they are now having, ahem).

Nebraska to the Big Ten is a shot in the arm for the conference. It saved the Big Ten from shit like Pitt or Rutgers. There's far more national appeal with a Nebraska than just about anybody who was mentioned except for ND or Texas--and those two ain't coming. Ever.

Good One

This assessment of Ryan is based on nothing more than hope and prayers. MgoBlog has run some reports on Ryan, and they have been decidedly uninspiring.

Oh, of course, it is also based on the new "Stars don't mean diddly" thing, the new mantra of Michigan Fans who are willing to die for Rodriguez.

Yeah, you're right. The evaluation of high school football players is now irrelevant. Expecially because Rodriguez wins with less talent

Um, er, oh wait...

There is

Absolutely NO WAY this is MS Paint. Sorry. It's photoshop and superimposition.

Will

Michigan fans VER stop whining like biotches over officiating?

This is Fucking Stupid

"Never" able to bury inferior teams?

Man, the revisionist bullshit and the excuse making for this sorry ass coaching staff are in full bloom.

You "Appy State ARRRRGGGGH" angry motherfuckers can't have it both ways.

The last two seasons have been the most embarrassing in the history of this program, and the UMass game had better be seen by you Rich Rod apologists as a warning not to get too giddy.

But you'll never learn and you will drum out any shot of realism or anyone who doesn't believe this staff is the greatest thing since the pocket pussy (which most of you probably need).

WTF

Oh yeah, let's see what Florida's defense can do to ALABAMA--as opposed to the Mighty Minutemen of Massachusetts!

Redunkulous to the nth degree.

Michigan fans fall further and further into the toilet of insanity defending Rodriguez.

Now, it's Massachusetts=Alabama.

If Saying Things Doesn't Make Them Ture

Then the Defenders of Rich Rod can quit repeating over and over again, "We'll be fine."

Uh, there is, to this point, about ZERO proof that this team will "be fine" under Rodriguez.

All This Bitching

About the refereeing is really getting old. Please, PLEASE stop whining like bitches about the refereeing, this was fucking MASSACHUSETTS for christ's sake.

What Happened

To trusting the coaches? Do they not know best anymore? Do they not see these players in practice every day?

And whatever happened to Rich Rod being able to "win with less"?

Bad defense, horrid special teams, no running game without Denard Robinson--IN YEAR THREE???

Who we gonna blame this shit on now?

WTF

Why axe a question to start a thread--then answer the question (probably not), then still axe for other opinions? And if you get enough yes answers, will you go to bed tonight all dreamy-eyed about the possibility of Lee Corso putting on a Wolverine head, telling you he thinks Michigan will win?

The only reason to come to the UM-MSU game this year is because the defenses are so horribly shitty, the offenses might set a record for points--even for a basketball game.

Ah Dex

Straight from the "I is so smartzz and if you don't think like me yer dumm dumm" school.

dex, you're pathetic. This was a win--and it is a straight up warning for Rita to start packing her hairspray.

This ride is over.

Check out the Big Brain

"transitive property" indeed.

The thing is, you CAN apply it. This is a warning, like Indiana was a warning last year.

Gonna be a long Big Ten season, and it might start next week.

And don't be surprised when MSU rolls this defense for about 600 yards and 45 points.

This Team

And this staff will stink or swim on thier own merits.

Why people still mention Appy State as a defense of Rodriguez is beyond me, and probably beyond most who think rationally. Appy State is a distant memory to everyone exept those who defend this staff to the death even when they don't prove shit.

This is What Happens

When girls watch football.

WOWZ

Did you hump their legs?

Absolutely

Three Mill per year for this shit? And why guarantee him another five at the same price? Oh, I know, only two or three more years till RichRod gets HIS players for HIS systemzz.

REALLY GOOD POST

Michigan fans justifying this shit under Rodriguez, yet still whining like bitches because Lloyd lost to Appy State.

Michigan should NEVER fucking be afraid of these schools. Saban can play 100 FBS schools and never have the outcome in doubt.

But Michigan, under Rodriguez, has become the whining, excuse-making capital of the world.

As if this fucking team would be better off if Brandon schedules better teams.

4-8. Rodriguez gone after this season. Book it.

Marginalizers gonna Marginalize

Anyone who questions the Mighty Godriguez.

I don't understand this fight, and why this guy gets a free pass like no other coach in history. He is simply not doing what he needs to do RIGHT NOW to make Michigan great. It IS that simple.

There is NO FUCKING WAY this team, on ANY given day, should be anywhere CLOSE to losing to a team from Massachusetts not named Boston College. UMass? REALLY?

If we rationalize this away, then fuck all those who still yap about Lloyd losing to Appy State. You people who defend Rodriguez to the death can't have it both ways. And it started with Toledo.

UM, er, but...WAIT

Not only did Denard run 28 times last week, he passed 40 times and was absoloutely clobbered on some of his dropbacks.

That has to be considered, also. He is doing double duty. And from what I've seen so far this year, I want him in there as much for his passing as his running--he is a true dual threat.

So yeah, getting him some rest in games Michigan should dominate would be a great thing. But him running less? Can't see it. There are NO running backs on the team capable of taking the workload from Denard in a meaningful way.

This has got to be

The most irrelevant post ever.

As Has Been Reported

All over the intranets and blogs, attrition at Michigan is nothin new--to the point of about 45% or so over the last several years of Lloyd Carr's tenure. Probably a pretty consistent figure over the last forty years as well. And if you think about it, how many of a class of 20 (let's say that's typical) actually contribute in a meaningful way on the playing field?

The main problem right now is well, the intranets and the glut of guys giving and seeking information like this. Attrition isn't a new fad, but the reporting of it and then the numerous postings and belly achings over it are. Used to be once a kid was signed, he either played or you never heard from him again.

Think kids didn't leave when you could recruit forty guys a year back in Bo's day?

This is Why

Michigan fans are probably not known for their sharp wit.

Really? Another jail reference?

Psychology?

You must have slept through it. This is a pretty neurotically-charged paranoid defensive rant.

And "haters gonna hate" isn't just old or "unoriginal"--it's ridiculously old and unoriginal and--paranoid, self glorifying, and neurotic.

You and Me Both

And I don't understand why so many posters need the reassurance enough to post these friggin' threads all the time.

Everey fan base of every team is comprised of about 99% who have never set foot on a college campus in their lives, let alone the one they root for. Without 'em, there'd be no fan base for any team.

Wow

Such an MgoGadabout!

I have to say, these are my favorite posts, EVER. They're so full of bullshit, it's almost believable.

Thanks

Their must be a requirement for at least one pedantic rant on this board every day so one jerk off can flex his BIG BRAIN muscle for to impress us all.

The only thing missing is "When I was going to Michigan, studying engineering, I learned a lot about diamonds."

Put that in there with an edit, and your post will be perfect.

Uh...

Apparentl we do, ALOT. Of course, the numerous "what would sparty do" threads that appear all over this and other Michigan boards is nothing more than evidence of TEHIR obsession with US.

WTF

We all make fun of Notre Dame for playing the service academies...now this guy wants them to be in the Big Ten?

/thinking toomuch

Wisconsin

OK, I know UM beat them in 2008, but Wisconsin comes out EVERY freaking year looking like this against the early season crap they play.

They then proceed to go 9-3 and win a bowl game. It might be time to acknowledge Wisconsin as a team that can NOT ever be counted as a WIN until the game is over.

Couple of points: Notre Dame will probably not win more than 5 games this year. Crist looks a bit fragile, and if teams can somehow find a way to cover the lumbering Rudolph and prevent him from being open all day and scoring 95 yard td's, ND is in trouble.

Michigan had a great game and won, but it was tougher than it should have been, and GOURD FORBID UM should ever need a field goal to win a close game this season. We were shut out (for severel reasons, I know, and of course the refs were out to get us) for most of the second half--is that not at least a bit concerning?

Denard: Ok. Heisman awarded. One hundred BILLION yards of total offense. HOWEVA--when we run into a team that stops him--and we will--who will take up the slack? I know we're all "Pat White!" and shit, but Pat White had Steve Slaton.

In light of all the above, I'd have to agree this team should go 8-4 this season. But I think we can see that, as happened on Saturday, the defense WILL have to come up big for sometimes long stretches during games. Let's not forget that.

I Doubt

The Wolf would have survived successfully cleaning up 3 of 9 dead body messes his first year.

This Thread Lacks

Sense.

Are we gonna get threads asking why people are so mean to Michigan all the frigging ti--

oh. Wait. Nevermind.

Nice One OP

You must have heard Tom Beaver and Blue Sam discuss this on the radio this morning to even AXE this question.

And yes, Hayes was impressed--but lemme ask: Does Michigan take him if they get Dee Hart? Maybe Hayes is ND committed for a reason.

For all the blather

About defense, and WE ALL KNEW coming into this season that the defense is gum, duct tape, and prayers--but the OFFENSE was shut out for the entire second half until the last drive.

I know, the refs were out to get us by calling four penatlies in the second half--but still--and YES, I'm wondering why in Year Three Rodriguez doesn't have a kicker who can be reliable--the fact that the offense was largely inneffective for most of the second half is something to consider when Michigan plays better teams, and gets to the Big Ten schedule.

Notre Dame=NOT a very good team. expecially with Crist out.

I WOnder

There are now so many rules about celebrating and extra curricular stuff that as a coach, do you have to spend valuable practice time teaching kids not to go crazy when they make a good play?

All Those Years of Hating Us?

Huh? You mean, like he might have thought Michigan wasn't exactly a freight train of fright under Carr? You mean he might have thought Michigan's last two years were really bad?

You guys and your "Media is out to get us" complex. Geebus, pathetic paranoia in Michigan fans will never die.

I Think

Michigan Fan is finally reaching the point at which a labotomy is within sight.

ZOMG

Word on the street is Michigan will be dropping the trombone from the marching band after this season.

I Can Understand Being Mad For Four Years

It's really a goddamm CRIME for a guy to predict a loss for Michigan! SONOFABITCH! How COULD he?

Sorry

We only talk about guys who are injured for Michigan.

giggity giggity

Trickeration

We've all been waiting for Mad Evil Play Calling Genius Rodriguez to show up, and well, it ain't gonna happen.

He has nothing up his sleeve, no bizarre game plans, no special sauce or tricks. It's just whatever the quarterback can do--either make the right decision with the handoff/keep it and run for life, or the drop back, if no one's open run your ass off, or some sort of quick-hitter pass.

That's it: Three offensive plays. Win or lose with them.

I Love

It's another one of those "He said something BAD about my MEECHIGAn, so he's a dum dum and I are smart cuz I read MgoBlog and Scout" threads!

Bo

Never cried in front of the cameras. Never got the team on probation. Didn't bring a whirlwind of controversial crap that makes a prima dona or an operatic diva look tame.

Bo was angry as hell when he needed to be (or just plain wanted to be), took on all comers--square jaw, daring them to question him and fired back in ways that Rodriguez's disingenuous down homey-ness look even sillier than they are.

Bo was funny, and ORIGINAL. Not full of stale ass jokes like "I was my wife's third choice, too HAR HAR DUH DUH"

Bo was transcendental, above it all, larger than life, bigger than the game, and a one-man FORCE for UM football. Turds like Rosenberg would have been ground to salt under his mighty stomp.

The only time Rodriguez showed balls was when he said "Playing time isn't voluntary either'--showed he was willing to stand out on an island and take some hits. Since then, it's been more shit and more walking around with tail between legs.

Rodriguez isn't like Bo at all. It's shameful, populist, and downright fucking silly to compare the two in any way.

Any future posts or stupid diaries like this that stretch truth beyond any recognizable form just to get Bo Schembechler into them and mention Rodriguez in the same sentence should be wiped off the face of the earth.

I Was Hoping

Stupid, too-much-thinking-put-into-this-stuff threads would end when the season started.

Hot Seat Talk

Was pretty much ended last year at 4-0, wadn't it?
