If this team resembles more…

If this team resembles more of the 1997 champ team than the 2023 champ team, I'll take it.

QB (like Griese) who does a good job managing the game.  Excellent run game, and perhaps the best D in the nation.  That's not just a playoff team, that's a deep-run playoff team.

Legally, referred to as an…

Legally, referred to as an OWI (Operating While Impaired) in Michigan.

Since there was another car involved, that means Robinson, no matter how gentle the accident, put another person in danger due to his OWI.  When that happens, the judge throws the book at you.  He's auto-fired, and looking at real jail-time.

Robinson is one of the recent heroes of the state of Michigan athletics.  He has a free-drive anywhere in the state.  Why he would think to drive after having a few is beyond stupid.

Every state in the union has draconian laws in place anytime another person is involved in a accident, even minor, from a drunk driver.

I have at least these 3 things in common with Larkin.  Everything else?  Nah.  Larkin's got me beat by a country mile.

I think we can all easily admit that rooting for someone born in metro Detroit, attended UM, and then plays for the Wings is not only one hell of a coincidence, it's providence.

M-TAC runs events all year long for Michigan fans to meet and have fun...

However, many of these events use the UM alumni events page to register for the event.  The UM Alumni events page requires that you prove you graduated from UM.  So, that brings up the question...

Must you be an actual Michigan Alumni to participate in scheduled M-TAC events?  Is there another way for people like me, who took some classes at UM and is lifelong Michigan fan to register for events without using the UM Alumni event website?

...does he realize UM's bball is a total rebuild?  UM will not make the tourney next year, nor the year after that.  UM in the tourney in 2027 is realistic.  Will UM fans and alumni give Dusty to 2027 to make the Big Dance?  We shall see.

I think he's an excellent hire.  He was at the top of my list.  I just wonder if he knows the giant tire-fire he is about to be responsible for.

This is ridiculous, and pure speculation.  Beilein turns 72 this year. Beilein left college basketball bc he was fed up with the constant, shady tactics of recruiting. Beilein is not coming back.

I think UM will grab a coach certainly better than Howard.  It wont be Beilein though.

Michigan did the right thing…

Michigan did the right thing.  Howard’s most successful season was his first full season, when he inherited John Beilein’s fantastically coached team.  It was all downhill for Howard after that.  The fact that Howard got suspended twice for throwing a punch at either a coach or an employee at Michigan certainly didnt help his cause.

Michigan’s basketball team will never reach the popularity of the football team.  Nevertheless, Michigan fans expect the basketball team to make the Big Dance every year.  Any year UM doesnt make the NCAA tournament is seen as a big failure.

Harbaugh implied Ryan Day was born on third base?  Hate to write it, but Howard also started on third...and got picked off.

So many mgoblog readers,…

So many mgoblog readers, including the owner of this site, have for years wanted college football players to get paid for playing football.  Saban alluded to it above, and he would know better than any of us...

Paying players is ruining the game.  It will only get the worse.  College football is officially on the slippery slope towards self-destruction, and as often is the case, money is the root of the problem.

9-3 or 8-4.  Accept it.  Michigan is about to put 18 players into the NFL draft, which would be a record.  Accept a down year for UM, the 2024 schedule is the toughest in all of CFB.  2025 UM should make some waves.

I've been a fanatical UM fan since 1981.  The 2024 schedule is the toughest schedule Michigan's faced during my fandom.

I hope UM fans keep their expectations low.  UM is putting up to 18 players into the NFL, has a bunch of new coaches, and the toughest schedule in the country.

I am predicting 8-4 next season.  Hope I am wrong.  If UM can somehow finish 9-3, UM will make the 12-team playoff.  UM's mind-bogglingly difficult schedule would make it tough to keep UM out of the 12-team CFP if UM finishes 9-3.

He has no interest in recruiting.  He didnt invent the Ravens D.  Last time he coached in college, most of the people reading this sentence were still in grade school.

Why would he listen to a first-year, 38 year old HC?

It's Don Brown 2.0.   He will run his D.  Moore wont have enough control over Wink to get him to run the Ravens D, and Wink likely cant run the Ravens D anyhow.

A 60 year DC wont relate to HS defensive players on the recruiting trail, if Wink even bothers with the recruiting trail.

Wink is a nightmare hire.  Moore can do better.  UM has the $$$.  Keep looking.

Agreed.  Harbaugh's constant…

Agreed.  Harbaugh's constant dancing with the NFL, especially this off-season is really hurting UM.  No kids from the transfer portal because the kids didnt know who UM's coach would be.

2024 recruiting around #16?  With a coach everyone knew was gonna be around for 2024, UM would have recruited better players.

At the beginning of this…

At the beginning of this season, everyone thought UM's O would be better than UM's D.  The opposite was the case.  Minter is a better coach than Sherrone.

I guarantee part of Harbaugh's deal with the Chargers is to offer Minter so much $$$ he's definitely going to leave with Harbaugh.  Take Minter off the table, as much as that hurts.

Michigan proved it can pay any amount it wants to hire the best possible coach in the country.  Sherrone should not be a coronation.  Sherrone should be at the top or near the top of the list.  However, it's Warde's due diligence to find THE BEST COACH IN THE COUNTRY for UM's HC.

Seth is hard-left…

Seth is hard-left politically.  Seth would have Sherrone as the HC even if Sherrone had lost every game he served as HC this season.  Seth's opinion needs to be taken with a giant grain of salt.

Unfortunately, Warde is also political, although not as political as Seth.

Sherrone should be at the top, or near the top of the HC list.  Sherrone should not be a coronation.

Is Sherrone a good HC?  Likely.   Are there better HC's in this country?  Warde has a responsibility to put 110% into finding out if there are better HC's than Sherrone for Michigan.

Minter is gone.  Guarantee…

Minter is gone.  Guarantee part of Harbaugh's deal with the Chargers is to throw so much cash at Minter, he couldnt possibly say no to the Chargers.

Jay is gone.  Reason?  Read above.

If Sherrone gets the HC job (I'd prefer Warde look for the best coach in the whole country, and not just coronate Sherrone), Sherrone definitely needs an OC.  38 year-old, basically first-year HC at a major college football program should not be HC and OC.  Get Sherrone the best OC who likes to run the ball more than throw the ball.  He'll fit right in.

Since Jim is no longer at UM, John no longer feels an obligation to get his brother a DC from the Raven's staff.  Would we all like another DC from the Raven's staff?  Of course.  This time, it's much less likely.

Warde easily survives this…

Warde easily survives this because Michigan just won the NC.  Why in god's green earth would UM fire Warde?

Michigan offered Harbaugh the largest contract in college football history, and Harbaugh would prefer to try and win a SB.  It's not Warde's fault.  What else could Warde have possibly done?

Now, dont get me wrong...I think Warde is a mediocre AD.  His hiring of Howard was clearly a mistake.  If Warde gives Sherrone the job without looking at Minter or outside the UM organization that would be an incredible mistake.  UM already proved it can afford any coach in the country.  It's Warde's responsibility to look for the absolute best coach in the country for UM football.  That means Sherrone doesnt deserve a coronation.  Sherrone should be at the top, or near the top of the list, but Warde must also look outside UM for the absolute best coach.  UM can afford him.  Go get him.

At the beginning of this season, everyone thought UM's O would be better than UM's D.  The opposite was the case.  Minter is a better coach than Sherrone.

There should be a search.  Considering UM was going to make Harbaugh the highest paid coach in college football, that means UM can afford anyone.

Oh, and comparing Sherrone to Henry V is like THE LAST COMPARISON you want to make, since skin color apparently means something to you.

Sherrone is a good coach because he's a good coach.  He deserves to be head coach because he's a good coach.  Anything about his skin color is reverse-racism, which is in and of itself racism.

At least now we can confirm IT WAS NEVER ABOUT THE MONEY.  Harbaugh's ultimate goal in life is to win a Super Bowl.  Harbaugh is 60 years old.  This is likely his last chance to win a SB.

Tear the band-aid off.  Right now.  You'll thank us later.

Also expect tomorrow afternoon for Warde to name Sherrone the new HC.  I'd prefer Minter, but Harbaugh probably set up a deal with the Chargers to guarantee Minter gets crazy cash if he goes with Harbaugh to the Chargers.

#GoBlue
