|5 days 7 hours ago||But a lot of those years it was other teams that tripped us up.||
2007 was Wisconsin, 2003 was Iowa, 2000 Purdue and Northwestern.
Penn State was as good this year at 7-4 as some of those teams.
|6 days 16 hours ago||Only against Notre Dame.||
I don't think you ever want a rival to win unless it directly helps Michigan. Better to have Saban win another.
|1 week 11 hours ago||Terrible||
How do we get 13 penalties for 117 yards and they get 3 for 30 yards?
I just hope it is home field advantage and we get the extra 87 yards next week!
|1 week 1 day ago||Wow||
What a collapse. Gave up 3 goals in last 10 minutes.
|1 week 1 day ago||Penalty shots seem pretty low success.||
Almost seems better to have a powerplay.
|1 week 1 day ago||How much time left?||
I don't have access.
|1 week 1 day ago||Ugly is ok||
|5 weeks 2 days ago||I dont think it is an automatic to punt there||
You run a play and get the first down and you win. If not, short of a turnover/runback, MSU has to complete a 50+ yard pass. I have seen coaches go for it in those situations.
Now in our case, O'Neill has been so solid, I think it was the best option. He had punted 45 times previously this year for us and I dont think he ever dropped the ball. Harbaugh probably figured we would struggle to get a 1st down running the ball had more confidence in O'Neill punting than Rudock passing.
Hoke, on the other hand, had some struggles with special teams. He might have had less confidence there.
|5 weeks 4 days ago||Hopefully if works out||
Wasnt this the same model that had us at near 20 point favorites against MSU though?
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Are you sure?||
Definitely not practiced enough
|5 weeks 5 days ago||although.....||
I thought the guy receiving the snap did ok given that he seemed totally surprised the ball was snapped and he was hit immediately. The "center" on the other hand, not only seemed to incorrectly snap the ball but he also declined to bother to block......
|5 weeks 5 days ago||Help me out a bit.||
Northwestern still has the #6 defense in SP after losing 38-0 and 40-10 back to back weeks? I know we scored 14 on defense and special teams against them so maybe that is part of it but sure doesnt seem like a #6 defense. Makes me wonder if the SP ranking is even worth looking at. It has us favored by 17 in a rematch against MSU as well.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||We really need MSU to lose twice but.....||
I guess it would be possible if they got really blown out by OSU and then we came back and really blew out OSU the next week.
I think it is pretty unlikely tht will happen but it is possible.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||I think you need to add in the special teams yardage||
How does it come out then? I think the reason that most times the team with 150 more yards wins is that special teams arent so lobsided.
|5 weeks 5 days ago||I think this matchup was a little unique||
in that the descepancy between the two teams in terms of kicking, punting and returns was so big. Short of the incident at the end, we dominated in special teams.
If MSU had a solid kicker, they probably attempt two FGs instead of going on 4th down. If they werent getting only 25 yards net on punts, they dont go on the fake punt.
The yardage descrepancy just states that MSU's offense did better against our defense than our offense against their defense.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||M wins 6-4. Empty netter with 16 seconds to go.||
1-0 on the season. Good start!
But let in more scores than the football team did in the last 3 games!
|6 weeks 1 day ago||My feed is real fast.||
In section 1 at Yost
|6 weeks 1 day ago||It seems ok noise wise in here.||
It's not rocking but not silent. Band and students loud. A fair number of empty seats though.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||And shot 30 a winner.||
|6 weeks 1 day ago||3-2 Mercyhurst||
Shots 29-13 Michigan with 7 to go in second. But behind on goals.
|6 weeks 1 day ago||2-2. Kyle Connor scores!||
|6 weeks 1 day ago||2-1 Mercyhurts.||
Not the best start
|6 weeks 1 day ago||1 for Mich! But just tied up.||
|6 weeks 2 days ago||Disagree||
Personally, I would like to see college games on every day. Having them on Tues, Thurs and Fri in addition to Saturday is a good start!
|6 weeks 2 days ago||I count 3 of the top 6||
NC, Duke and Virginia.
|6 weeks 3 days ago||24-17 Michigan||
Uncomfortably close most of the game.
|6 weeks 4 days ago||We have actually shut them out a fair number of times.||
We did 14-0 in 2000, 31-0 when Harbaugh was playing(1985), 42-0 in 1983 and a couple more times under Bo in the 70's. So 5 times in the last 45 years. Hell, they have only won 14 times in the span, unfortunately almost half recently.
|6 weeks 4 days ago||I find Michigan Monday to be informative||
Gerdeman tends to have some solid analysis. While I don't set aside specific hours to read it, I thought it generally came out on Monday so by Tuesday at lunch I thought it was odd it wasn't out.
|6 weeks 5 days ago||The Baxter advantage||
|6 weeks 5 days ago||I was at that game||
As someone who had season tickets for a long time and been to a lot of M games, it was somewhat surreal.
