.... maybe not so much that Brandon, as an employee of a public institution, has to expose everything but that the media is acting as sychophant cheerleading fans rather than adversarial journalists attempting to expose the truth.
I've been amazed at the outright cheerleading of Hoke by the media as opposed to the very negative, combatative role they played after the hiring of RichRod.
What a compelling read. Great job. I apprecitate your honesty and sincerity in a time when both are scarce and of course your analytical insight.
Thanks for the Fund My Mutual Fund link. I bookmarked it already. For some interesting and entertaining socio/economic commentary I would like to recommend James Kunstler's "ClusterF*ck Nation" blog.
Its time to freak out. Its time to accept that UM is no longer a player in elite college football. Its time to realize that the University with the most wins in college football is due to wins piled up in the first half of the last century.
This is no time for patience or understanding. Its a time for saddness and mourning. People have projected this frustration onto RichRod but its not about him. Its about the decline of UM football into mediocrity from a fictitious exhaulted state it never really inhabited.
A week ago Dee Hart was looking forward to joining Denard in UM's backfield - and the decision was to keep RR or hire Harbaugh. How exactly do things look better today?
Brandon just f'd up. Big Time. He gave in to the self righteous, arrogant, Rosenberg like entitled haters.
"I think Mullen is the South-to-North version of Nick Saban (except I have no reason to think he's an a-hole). Just as Saban left a low-ceiling program at MSU (note the coincidence) to move to underachieving LSU, Mullen can leave Miss. St. and revive the sleeping giant of the Big Ten." - el segundo
That's exactly what 'insiders' are saying on Detroit sports radio - that DB caved to the big doners' demands. I thought he was above that. I think Brandon just f'd up big time.
We all hate to acknowledge it but this job is not as coveted as DB seems to think - as the previous search showed when Miles and Schiano said no. TCU is well funded and surrounded by talent. Boise is obviously already a big time player. Miss State is an up and coming program with talent galore in state. Why would coaches of those teams want to come to the state of Mich - the only state to lose population in the last decade with a terrible economy and high unemployment?
... whether at MICHIGAN (which I advocate) or at Miami (which would be too f'ing cool otherwise) or at wherever he ends up if the haters get their way.
RichRod is a good man, a simple man from the poor of West Virginia who says ' yu all ' and doesn't speak that well but I don't think he deserves the anger and hate which is coming at him and lets not forget he is an offensive GENIUS.
Tshiminga was unbelievable that day. Those O LINE guys who, like the great Biakabutuka, all played in the pros had something to do with it though. Thanks for the video.
good call with the original post and while the brown nosing dog pic is hilarious truthfully Brian and the others deserve an appreciative shout out for all the info, analysis, comment, insight, passion, and overall entertainment.
By not outright supporting RichRod Brandon is obviously attempting to bring in Harbaugh. Brandon talks about how recruiting is a year round challenge while leaving his head coach and his recruits and prospective recruits hangin out to dry.
M f'ked up the Carr transition with an ugly public hiring process but might be throwing the baby out with the bathwater getting rid of RichRod.
"Anyone seriously arguing that Michigan's offense is not a reason to keep Rodriguez around is a raving lunatic. Period" - Brian
Right on. RichRod haters be careful what you wish for. The O is there and the D will improve. A coaching change now will extend, not remedy, the rebuilding process and the losing.
This was a great week for Rich Rod and the program.
Recruits can confidently know RR will be here next year...... going to a bowl ....... scoring points like crazy ....... young D gaining experience ....... RR has passed a major tipping point and will bring UM back to the top of the BigTen!
UM was most certainly an "underdog" in quite a few games under (the good and honorable) Coach Carr - if the betting lines and final scores mean anything.
Good quote from RR but nothing's better than Brian's about water torture and Japanese school girl sex!
Thanks for the link. It will be interesting to see how the read option does evolve. If its really like the pick and roll then it will be here indefinitely. The vulnerability - as the guy stated - is that the QB needs to be the top athlete on the field and when he goes down so does the team like White in WV. That's the real drawback. It’s hard to have guys on the sideline ready step in and be the top athlete on the field after the starting QB is injured - which is basically inevitable.
No doubt Marvin. I've also noticed that for years. I can't believe all the beautiful southern belles in the stands everytime I see an Auburn home game. Don't really go for the confederate politics but the women are a different story!
Its, sadly, not just the media in the South which wants Michigan and especially RR to fail badly. Every time I turn on sports radio in Detroit the great majority of hosts and callers are openly rooting for M to step on it this season and for RR to be fired. I don't understand it? I look for it to come together this season for M and for RR to silence the loudmouthed critics.

I , like Nigel, "believe everything I read"!
but seriously this scenario does makes a lot of sense - sadly

I'm starting to think that Lloyd 'unibombed' UM Football when he left.

I think you are right on.
I hate the Rich Rod haters. I hate that Brandon gave in to the haters. This might be FUBAR.
Loved the Brock Mealer video though. And the home page banner is great.

Should have kept the good RichRod.
Right on Brightside. When RichRod's teams are filled with Seniors and Juniors this team will be wicked.

Harbaugh is an arrogant dick IMHO.
Great Top 10
... has some of the best paid college players in all of college football but I'm with the poet.
Would love to see the Wolverines open a can of whoop ass on the overconfident aholes from the south and shut up the RichRod haters!
Danielson is a Rush Limbaugh loving, carpetbagging, POS IMHO.
Good job shoe - Denard is someone to be proud of indeed.
Hope he goes crazy and sets more records on Sat.!

"How old I am for remembering Justin Fargas"
not that old - I remember Rob Lytle ,Stanley Edwards, Butch Woolfolk, Steve Smith, Anthony Carter, Johnny Wangler ........

Looking back it seems like the young and small UM Sam McGuffie might have been used and abused by Rich Rod.
UM was most certainly an "underdog" in quite a few games under (the good and honorable) Coach Carr - if the betting lines and final scores mean anything.

Great read. Thanks for the link. This guy is 6-4, 270, just turned 17, is going to be a monster O lineman and has great character.
Rich Rod is bringing in his fellas and will deliver.
no doubt
great job Brian - thanks for all the quality junk at MGoBlog. I'm finally gonna make a long overdue donation.

And let the idiot pastor burn the Korans. Who cares. We've give religion much more respect than it historically deserves.
Great shirt.
