20 hours 28 min ago I really like how softball's

I really like how softball's tournament is set up. Would be interesting to see if it could work for college hockey too. I'm so tired of the one-and-done plinko that is the tournament. A double elimination format at each regional would be interesting to try

21 hours 38 min ago Well that was a close one

The initial gasp from the crowd made me think it was gone

23 hours 45 min ago I think it was 4 or 5 years

I think it was 4 or 5 years ago that ESPN did one of those polls and the final was like Florida State v Alabama or something and Bowden (and other talking heads) said they all thought it was weird that Michigan could be left out or something to that effect

Edit: Man, I have impeccable memory

Several guys at the beginning (including Mike Gundy) say Michigan is best and then at 3:30 Bowden talks about Michigan saying "I was surprised they didn't win it". Boom

1 day 14 hours ago I'm more surprised that there

I'm more surprised that there was someone there who wasn't a white person over the age of 40

1 day 14 hours ago Its almost sad

Only $25 to lead them out of the tunnel? They must have next to zero financial support from fans and alums. I bet leading Michigan out of the tunnel would cost you over $10k

1 day 16 hours ago No Texas A&M?

We should be ok

1 day 19 hours ago The rule of thumb for me

is the name on your degree opens more doors initially. A lot of seniors from Eastern will get looked over by major companies in favor of a senior with a Michigan degree but once you're in the door somewhere, where your degree is from really ceases to matter

1 day 20 hours ago Eh

Coming right out of college, it does make a difference. I don't think it makes much of a difference when you talk Michigan v MSU v Ohio State v UVA v Florida etc but when you talk Michigan v Ferris or Lake State, it sure does make a difference (in most cases)

1 day 23 hours ago (No subject)

2 days 48 min ago Personally, I'd be more than

Personally, I'd be more than ok with that. I'd rather our guys who couldn't quite cut it here to get a shot to play for a and boost the programs of some of our other in-state programs rather than go to some random CC in Kansas or other out of state programs

2 days 2 hours ago Wow. And has Ringer been

Wow. And has Ringer been confirmed to be going to Ferris too? They might have an awfully good defense. Both of those guys probably could've started for other BCS teams and now they're going to be playing DII. I hope they can both succeed out there, I'll be rooting for Ferris now

2 days 3 hours ago IM reffing is the worst

I used to do football and it's horrible. There's like 10 penalties a play, only 2 of which you might see on any given play. Do you call them all or let people play? Especially frat league games...nightmares

2 days 3 hours ago I like Eastern

and I hope someone can build something good there sometime. As pointed out above though, it's really hard to recruit Eastern I'm sure. Even if you're just aiming for the MAC-level scraps from Detroit, I think Western, Central, the Ohio MAC-schools and even Cincinnati sometimes is a better option. Doesn't help that Ypsi has got some real bad areas literally right off campus.

2 days 3 hours ago Nice

I was looking to do this sometime soon. I'm surprised how great a deal it is actually. The thing I actually care about is Insider but I get that and 52 issues of the magazine for 10 bucks? Good deal

2 days 12 hours ago And thats it for both of us?

Have to say that our odds don't look good. Nebraska is better than us and I'd be surprised if MSU choked up another to Penn State

2 days 14 hours ago F*cking Luke Hancock

That's the worst one by far because it clearly had a huge effect on the game. I think he had 5 pts and drew a key foul on McGary after he had his 5th* foul. I had almost recovered from the game...now I'm angry again

2 days 14 hours ago Thats what I was getting at

I just said it in a more Snarky Internet Jerk kinda way

2 days 16 hours ago Oh really, Peyton?

Because I wasn't sure if it was. Thank you for clearing that up for me

2 days 16 hours ago Gotta give the announcers credit

They are really committing to this jinxing. An all time jinx.

Oop, and theres the hit. I hate these clowns

2 days 19 hours ago Sigh

I'm going to miss him

"Thats what you do! Thats what you do!"

2 days 19 hours ago Man, I wouldn't liked some of

Man, I wouldn't liked some of that 19-for-25 in the tournament Timmy

2 days 23 hours ago I want to see a SEC school

I want to see a SEC school play a Big Ten team at Soldier Field in November. How you like that neutral field Mike Slive?

2 days 23 hours ago Wow

ESPN is amazing at evaluating talent. This is probably the best talent evaluating to ever occur

3 days 2 hours ago There's no recovering from 2007

We could win 200-0 and 2007 wouldn't be a hair less humiliating. This is a classic lose-lose. If we lose, we're humiliated forever. If we win, we still will have to watch them show countless highlights of the 07 game and have countless talking heads bring it up in the lead up to the game

3 days 2 hours ago I dunno about that

Dave Brandon isn't shy of making big moves. Wouldn't surprise me much if he booted one of App State, Utah or Miami (OH) to try to get a one-off against another BCS team (I know we have some scheduling agreement with the MAC so Miami may not be bootable)

I think USC, Texas A&M, and LSU were mentioned as teams that have open dates in September. He may be trying to secure those games.

And I know it's very late for scheduling changes, but Dave Brandon knows he needs to make money and he can probably see that he's going to struggle to sell season tickets in 2014 already. I think "Stay Tuned" means he's actively working on something for that season

3 days 5 hours ago An amusing thought

but there's a 0% chance Notre Dame doesn't get invited to a bowl if they have at least 6 wins. They may turn it down (like I think they did a few years ago), but no way the Velveeta Bowl doesn't try to take Notre Dame over like UNLV vs Southern Miss

3 days 15 hours ago Dude

You say the douchiest things. Sometimes I see you say something funny and I'm like "Oh Mr Rager...you're not so bad after all!" then you say something incredibly douchy like this again and I realize how wrong I was

3 days 15 hours ago Unfortunate for Tim

Usually he'd basically have 5 games, play one lights out, play two ok ones, and two where he couldn't he the broad side of a barn. Hopefully he develops some consistency because he can be incredible when he's on but he was can be pretty bad when he's off which happens a bit more often right now

3 days 16 hours ago True

but given that we recently ok'd the bumblebee uniforms and Underarmor is outfitting Maryland, I am afraid of what the combination of Underarmour and our suddenly low standards for uniforms will create

3 days 16 hours ago I laughed at first

but then read this quote

We do not need to spend what Michigan spends; I don't know how they spend all that money," Hermann said. "We will do more with less. That's what we did at Louisville.

Obviously Louisville is incredibly successful for being the 2nd most popular school in Kentucky and I believe a commuter school. I'll be interested to see if this lady can work some magic with Rutgers. The potential is certainly there
