You hit the nail on the head

We've seen a number of performances this year where Michigan has gotten great looks and really won games by creating 2 pt. chances off backcuts, guys taking it to the bucket, etc. When teams are as solid on D as MSU and OSU, this became much more difficult. Ohio does not have this kind of swarming and physical defense. While it is solid, we will be able to generate good looks. Despite what all the media seems to be thinking, Cooper is, in no way, Aaron Craft's equal on the defensive side of the ball, so Burke will get his opportunities. Ohio's D will take chances, and my guess is Michigan exploits it with backcuts, ballfakes and driving to the bucket. If those generate open 3 point looks, fantastic, but I don't think this will be a game where Michigan is forced to pass around the perimeter for 30 seconds then fire up a contested 3, which is when we struggle.

Party Up

by DMX..and yeah, the line is gold...

They're

they're called Hookers after they're dead, Cyril!

You mean

He'd have to quit baseketball too?!

Agreed

Xavier in the first round would be rough. Definitely wouldn't mind seeing Louisville in the second though. That's the kind of team that Michigan eats alive: a team that relies solely on superior athletes to win.

Ace you need a catchphrase

Tom had buckle up when he was trying to be cryptic. I know you may not have meant to imply anything with this comment, but we need you to develop one so you can bust it out when it's time.

Correct

The other part of the scouting report for VT was that they bring safeties, linebackers, everyone up and like to bring them on blitzes. Where Borges has failed is he has no hot reads/audibles for Denard when it comes. Everytime, receivers are running 15 yds downfield, so Denard has no where to go.

What the F is Borges trying to do?

This offense seems very, very, feeble. Seriously. I think Borges has done a great job all year, but the hell is he thinking right now?

In 4 years

This team still has not learned how to defend a bubble screen/quick hitch...I know it takes athletes to do, but you would think even once we could stop it by accident?

VT fans are loud

Maybe it's just where the cameras/mics are, but the VT fans sound a whole lot louder than M fans...what's the ratio in the stadium for anyone whos there?

Yesterday, he was

First off, yes the lions got the shaft by the officials yesterday. Still, if they would have stopped GB one more time, they win. Their D deserves plenty of blame as well.

But, Flynn was the better QB yesterday. Better completion percentage, fewer INT's, more TD's, and the crucial game winning drive in crunch time. And Flynn doesn't have the athletic freak that is Calvin Johnson catching anything thrown within 7 feet of him.

Stafford had a great day. He's proven himself to be a very, very good quarterback. There's not arguing that he is more established right now. Whether Flynn will reach that level will be found out over time. But yesterday, Flynn was better, by pretty much any objective or subjective measure.

Over at UMHoops

Dylan has officially turned on the "Buckle Up" sign...Now whether he meant it like Tom used to, I don't know

already found him on the gigapixel fancam...

it's him...

so impressed by Hawthorne

the UFR may show some mistakes I didn't see, but what I did see was him flying all over the place, hitting people and just being an animal...still remember one play where he came on a blitz and just LAUNCHED himself at Rees...it was glorious

Gotta say,

Watching those pom-poms on t.v. was impressive. They definitely added to the crowd, and as much as I hate to say it, reminded me of an SEC night game. I don't think that's bad, is it? Regardless, it made the place look more rockin than usual.

It's a law,

like dinosaurs or water...

Hiller

was a hyped because he had a dynamite freshman year. And if I remember correctly, he was throwing to Greg Jennings and Tony Scheffler. No offense to Hiller cause he had a solid career, but I could've had a dynamite year throwing to those two guys in the MAC...

The fanbase

is awesome as well. Passionate people that support the team through everything, and the players recognize this closeness. Suarez was a GREAT pick up and is already showing that. It's gonna be a great year...... YNWA

I would probably go with

Augusta, GA...followed closely by the Grand Tetons/Jackson Hole...now if only I could play that certain golf course....

wow...

I don't think either of those places would be in my top 5-10...but good for Sleeping Bear dunes and will definitely vote for it...

Barnett can be explosive

and definitely a fiery player, but he was prone to mental errors that really hurt GB's defense at times...plus his emotion sometimes was a distraction for the team, but definitely a solid player...

"Over There"

This needs to happen...It is literally perfect

UCONN

Last year...43ish yd scamper...awesome little bit cause he called it quite early and so matter of factly...

Oberon and Woodford Reserve

terrible, but delicious combo...

Are you talking about league play only?

Because if you look at Central's out of conference schedule, it was quite tough from what I've read...played a number of top teams from the East side of the state as well as great teams from other states in tournaments and exhibitions...while their league may be weak, the fact that they've continually played with and beaten most of the teams they face from the east side of the state in the playoffs would seem to indicate that they are just plain better.

disagree about the emotional attachment

It's definitely more of an individual preference...I see how football is the bigger draw, but as a relatively recent student, if you wanted to, you were very close and involved with the team....you'd talk to them on and around campus, go to special practices/dinners with them, talk to them well before games etc... players and coaches would come to meetings and talk, and the athletic department did everything in their power to draw students...it was a very involving season and made one feel extremely close to the team...

I'm an idiot...

I will now go back to 6th grade and work on reading comprehension, Billy Madison-style...

unlikely to beat AZ?

I'd think that'd be a very winnable game for this team...for that matter, UCONN or SDSU would have been as well out West...then another shot at OSU? Duke win, without a doubt...a win like that can spark something special...can everyone imagine what that would've done for the team's confidence going forward in the tourney?

Well done...

while this may not have been a primary focus of yours, it will still be a HUGE side benefit (assuming you're a guy)...the place is a GOLDMINE for women...attractive, smart, independent females everywhere...don't let it be too much of a distraction though haha..

can't agree more...

make sure he enjoys his time in middle school and high school...I focused way too much on academics and athletics, and while I got into Michigan and have had a little success, I still feel my high school years were more of a chore than they should have been....

A.J. Hawk

this may be crossing the line, but I LOATHED Hawk while he was at Ohio St. and his first two yrs in Green Bay....just didn't think he was 5th pick material, and while he still isn't dominant, the guys just.does.not. make a mistake and is content to sit in the shadows while guys like woodson, matthews, etc get the spotlight, plus is willing to take a paycut to stay in GB...he's a true packer and I respect the heck out of him now....

"Keep your head up..."

next year...CAN'T WAIT!

THIS

is exactly correct and probably the biggest aspect...keep fighting, stay hungry, and every game, it's gotta be us against the world...thankfully, I see that in this team and this result could fuel that fire, but having the drive to come out every night and take it to your opponent is so huge...

read between the lines

Kenny Smith played for UNC...he knows Duke grabs and holds...He just can't say it on the air, but I would guess he was hinting at that...

MOVING ON EVERY FREAKING SCREEN

thats not allowed mr. official....

was wondering about this

I thought this too...so much grabbing and holding...it'd be one thing if it was the body, but its all hands and arms...

I think Coach K

will be cautious to run everything through Irving...when a player hasn't played in approx. 4 months, they don't just come right back playing at their highest level. Plus, Duke has built a chemistry with Smith running the team. I think Coach K will not try to completely alter the team's identity, so I'd think Irving may be used sparingly again...

ncaa.com

si.com and cbssports.com all link to march madness on demand...can watch any game you'd like...

I shall

be attending...any early word on where to buy tickets?

gotcha

thanks

but wouldn't

it be 5 then? Did Syracuse ever hit #1?

gotcha

thank you, I was a little hazy and couldn't quite remember if they were or not...

playing #1 teams

we have now played the number one team in the nation 4 times this year I believe...that is very impressive...anybody know if there is some kind of record for that?

well

that makes no sense at all...think he's wrong about our standing actually...think were a bit higher up than that...RPI improved, SOS probably improved...no logic in that...maybe just got sick of M fans emailing him haha

*11 seed

man I'm having an off-day

I'll take

Michigan as the 6 seed in D.C. please...like to keep my attendance streak at M NCAA games alive, and this might be the only locale to do that at....

*Chris

I'm dumb as a rock...

I'd want

Georgetown...absolutely...I've seen them play a number of times this year, and they are pretty overrated and ripe for an upset. With Christ Wright, they were a decent team, but still not as good as a Cincinatti or K-State. Their offense is stagnant and no one can create points, but they were prone to mental lapses on the defensive end...I'd really like our chances against them

Really though, any of the teams you list, I think we could beat. UNLV and Old Dominion would scare me the most...

should really

specify the sport in the title...haha seems like you're trying to trick people into reading about softball...

if MSU

plays like they did today, PSU won't be beating them. I'd wager OSU wouldn't either...they looked like a dangerous team today...
