Hey guys Technically challenged old guy here trying to set this up.
Naval Flight Officer Happy Veterans Day all. I'm getting ready to leave active service within the next year. Do you guys have companies that you highly recommend? Just looking at my options. USNA 1998, three deployments to Iraq
Job hopper have had an odd career path: Naval flight officer Fed cop Local cop Back to the navy
Joined the navy

Good decision: Was a freshman at Purdue, got offered a Civil Engineering internship program. At the same time was accepted into the Naval Academy. Took the Naval Academy offer. Best decision ever. Got to go fly three tours in Iraq.

I remember at the time thinking...if I go to Annapolis I would have to do a full 4 year undergrad (one year at Purdue doesn't count) so total of 5 undergrad. It seemed like a big deal at the time. Small minded freshman.

If he's a Naval or Marine If he's a Naval or Marine officer, there's a decent chance he will go into harms way. It doesn't make a difference what your major is. What does make a difference is what you service select (i.e. Aviation, seals, marines, etc). Usually officers get attach/liaison jobs after they went to combat. -Navy '98
The reason for navy's recent The reason for navy's recent success is actually fairly simple: Paul Johnson. I was at navy just prior to him and army and Air Force owned us in football. Johnson is navy's Harbaugh. Trust me, navy grads don't shy from being on the front lines: a quarter of a graduating class goes into aviation (they fly in combat, a lot), another few hundred lead marines, then you have the spec war types and eod officers, and the ship drivers junior officers lead boarding teams. It helps the navy football team that the navy has phenomal jobs to offer a new graduate, a bit more diverse in opportunities than the other service academies. Plus we have social media in our corner: movies like top gun, the hurt locker, jarhead, act of valor serve as free recruitment.
Met a USAFA grad after the Met a USAFA grad after the Penn State game who was a blue fan, right before we got to meet Harbaugh, Butt, Peppers, and O'Neil by the team bus. I'd embed pics if I knew how. Cool story bro: we were next to Jake Butts family and it was cool to hear Jake tell his perspective of the game, he said the PSU players were playing dirty (someone punched him in the liver after a tackle). Met the Kali's family too, nice people.
I like the summer whites I like the summer whites uniform from last year also.mmade to look like the midshipmans summer dress.
Agreed. Much respect to West Agreed. Much respect to West Point, but their gray uniforms say government big time.
Any USNA grads on mgoblog? Any USNA grads on mgoblog? Love these new helmets, they need to paint aircraft on some though.
Thanks judoka, but we are Thanks judoka, but we are kinda on a budget for this one.....we went to the Rutgers game for my baby's tenth birthday, was a blast.

The Vets celebration UM had

The Vets celebration UM had at the big house last saturday was amazing. They let us on the field during pregame and during the anthem.  Got some good pictures.

Appreciation day

Does anyone know where the "top of the tunnel" is?  I am fortunate enough to be one of the veterans who gets to go on the field during the anthem for saturday's game!!!!!! Awesome.

We were told to meet at the top of the tunnel to enter the field. I'm guessing this is where they do the victor's walk?

+1

Well done, Sir.

Irish is a classy ND fan and more than welcome on MGOBLOG anytime.  He brings up some good points.  The bottom line is that both teams had bad breaks and good ones.  It's the way the game is.

I think both teams are on the rise big time and look forward to some exciting games in the next four years.   I do think that Kelly's over aggressive coaching hurt ND.  In a close game, there's no reason not to take that field goal at the end of the half.

Cool, I'll be the guy accidentally yelling Minor RAGE!!!

You have a bar recommendation for the game in downtown SB?

I think that people make the

I think that people make the assumption walkons rarely turn out to be very good starters.  Had a classmate who played O line for Purdue tell me that some of the teams best players are walkons/former.

Anyway you look at it, Kovacs and Moundros are high effort/talented/ and overall good football players.

Shoe,

Just don't let

Shoe,

Just don't let the Air Force do the flyovers, at the OSU game last year they flew by way too early during the anthem.  I kid, I kid.

Get some Prowlers/Growlers from Andrews if you can.

so true

Only a parent could have this insight.  I said that so many times about the diapers, now I would love to see my kids at that age again if only for a minute. Your message hit a nerve with me in a good way.

Congrats

Another Michigan fan added to the already strong base.  Enjoy fatherhood!

I think that Threet was underappreciated by UM fans.  He was tough and played fairly well for a freshmen in a system not suited for him.  I think/hope he tears up the Pac 10.

It feels like fall time this

It feels like fall time this morning in AA.  Nothing like having your morning coffee on Main Street.

I was jonesing for gameday so drove to AA this morning to do my pregame ritual.

Stand tall

Having been there, it's a good step for  you to recognize the pain.  That is manning up in and of it self.   I hope you the best and it will make you stronger.  I was scared too of the unknown future, but if I could foresee the amazing women I would meet two years after my divorce I would have not been so scared.  Not to mention she's a huge UM fan and goes to the games with me.

The fear of the unknown is worse than the reality of it.

I know you guys are posting

I know you guys are posting in jest, but this women is a straight out sexual predator of children.

Imagine if that was your child.

And no the cops aren't wishing anything like that.  Any cop worth his badge is trying to put this predator behind bars.

I agree most UFO sightings are BS.  Some aren't though.  What are your favorite cases?  Mine would be Gordon Cooper's (NASA)  story about his time in the Air Force and the sightings that he had.

You did a good job on his body posture, looks just like him.

If we land him, he would

If we land him, he would be a great get.  I saw him play live all last season, great speed/hands/toughness. He quietly takes over a ball game behind his teams crazy passing attack.

Anyway you look at it Warren

Anyway you look at it Warren was one of our best defensive players last year.  I think that people just had Leon Hall/Marlin Jackson/C Woodson dreams for him.  I think/hope that he will have a solid NFL career.

I watched him in coverage pretty closely and rarely saw him get burned due to lack of speed.  Calling him slow is not accurate in my opinion.

RB

I think the running back corps is a strength, among Shaw, Cox, Hopkins, Smith, Toussant, someone will step up.
