I once worked college football and in our coach's 3rd year we had 50+ freshmen and RS freshmen on the roster. This was due to the previous staff's horrible recruiting and "win it now" attitude by signing a bunch of JUCOs. We went 2-9 that year. 3 later that same group won the IAA national championship. Young talent takes time to develop. We'll get there.

Started off with Bloody Mary at 10 am on the first tee and just finished dinner with a Star Hill IPA. Conversation at dinner devolved into who would win in the octagon: a chicken or a duck? Had some fictional sweet action going with most favoring the chicken.

I too encourage people to register. I did so early last year when a friend's teenage daughter was diagnosed with a very aggressive leukemia. A selfless person became a match for her and she underwent a bone marrow transplant early last summer. At one point, she was hooked up to a device (ECMO) to keep her alive and given a less then 10% chance to survive. This past weekend, her family celebrated her high school graduation and she will on her way to college in the fall. Without the bone marrow transplant, it would have been a sadly different story.
Its very easy to do. Just a cheek swab and mail it back in. Another website is bethematch.org.

My 5'9" and under hoops team made it to the B league championship game my senior year. I was suspended for the game for being 5'9 1/2".

It's great to see players get excited for bowl games even when nothing is at stake. We as fans may be disappointed in the bowl destination but you bet UM's players will be up for it.

The students were great. Bigger student section than I expected given the holiday and the sub par year. Lots of credit to the students for being loud. Those who sold their tickets on stub hub and gave up on this team.....don't even want to talk about it.

Short, quick passes. Run some hurry up. And don't run the option with the fullback as the pitch man!!!
|42 weeks 2 days ago||A little story||
I have faith in this staff (maybe except Borges) because of something I experienced years ago. I was an athletic trainer at a IAA school. We were two years removed from a senior laden conference championship team. All those players left and we were now a team with 54 true and redshirt freshmen. Our first staff meeting, the HC ended it by saying be patient and be prepared for a bad year. Just not going to be pretty. We ended up 2-9. Fast forward 3 years and those young guys matured and grew up to win the national championship.

3rd and 5 and run the option with the fullback as the pitch man. Sigh...... I am finally on the fire Borges side.

I purchased an 18.5 weber this winter. Love it! Highly recommend it. For great advice on grilling, smoking and all things BBQ go to amazingribs.com. It's run by a guy named Meathead. I find his recipes, tips and advice spot on. And if you have a question he's quick and friendly to respond.

I've worked in orthopedics for 8 years and do my best to treat most problems conservatively. This is one where I feel surgery is the best option. Minimal risk, quick recovery, predictable outcomes. You can try anti-inflammatories and/or injection but these probably work 10% of the time. Best of luck!

I will continue to support Michigan football. I will watch every week, cheer enthusiastically, rejoice with wins and feel bummed after a loss. And after the loss, I'll look forward to next week. It's what I am. A Michigan alum, Michigan fan.

Give RR some credit for being classy here. This isn't article about Michigan or his thoughts on the program, but its about his thoughts on a charismatic young man and terrifc athlete we have all had the pleasure watching over the last couple years. There probably is great respect both ways.

|1 year 46 weeks ago||Tough to treat||
I am former athletic trainer who used to work college football for 5 years. There isn't much to do other than keep asking the athlete if they're ready. Treating this type of problem on the sidelines is difficult. There isn't a quick fix. An injection can help but usually these are done with ultrasound guidance so as to take extreme care around the nerve. The nerve innervates the small muscles between the bones in the hand so this injury greatly affects grip. Unfortunately time is the best healer here and hopefully Denard is ready this weekend.
|1 year 46 weeks ago||1995 UM vs UVA||
After the dramatic win in the Pigskin Classic in '95, the students made attempts to rush the field. If I remember correctly, the police were a little harsh in their tatics to keep them off the field. Some even got arrested....a friend's brother had to go to court for it and pay a fine. They (the police and the Univeristy) received a lot of backlash from the Daily. Call it a PseudoRush.

Denard wasn't set to be a return man. He was in a position to block. Same as Wheatley. I concede if he were to return, could add a different look. But don't ask him to do something he isn't accustomed or built to do.
|1 year 47 weeks ago||Not a good idea||
If Denard were to get injured (fingers crossed) on a typical offense play...... Well, that is football. But on special teams? That's just poor decision making. I remember Tyrone Wheatley being injured on punt return. Hurt his shoulder & wasn't the same the rest of the year.
