1 year 14 weeks ago	2011 Cowboy Classic - Extra Seats	I found this little tidbit: "LSU was initially guaranteed a ticket allotment of approximately 24,000 for the matchup with Oregon, but vice chancellor and director of athletics Joe Alleva was able to negotiate with the promoters of the game to secure an additional allotment of nearly 13,000 tickets running the total to 37,000 tickets for the contest."    http://www.lsusports.net/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=5200&ATCLID=205151669 I'm not sure if those extra 13k came from unpurchased Oregon tickets or what, but it seems there may be a small glimmer of hope remaining. If Joe Alleva got 13k for LSU, I'm sure DB can swing some our way as well.
1 year 18 weeks ago	Dog Training / Rosetta Stone	I spent 30 minutes training the dog and followed up with 2 hours of talking to my laptop trying to learn German with Rosetta Stone.
1 year 24 weeks ago	Yes	He was sitting in either section 7 or 8. I had the chance meet him on the way up the stairs. He was super friendly and I was able to chat with him for a second as we waited for the aisle to clear. That being said, he's a little unsteady on his feet and has a huge amount of work ahead of him before he'd be back to his former abilities. I got a 'Go Blue' from him and a 'Thank you' from an older lady accompanying him. Cool story bro I know.....
1 year 28 weeks ago	Prep work	The biggest difference is the amount of time girls in the South spend getting ready for even the most mundane of occurrences. Putting on a dress will give (almost) any girl at least a +1 bump from yoga pants, uggs, and hoodie.

2 years 22 weeks ago	High Stick	They were reviewing whether or not the puck was contacted with a high stick. No portion of the stick can be above the cross bar when contacting the puck.
3 years 19 weeks ago	A bit to add	I agree with your assessment of the goals that RPI scored. I was there with my Dad and telling him about how short Hunwick is; he responded with 'how does height affect a goalie'. Approximately .3 seconds later the guy roofed it. Whether or not a taller goalie would have made the save, it certainly would have made the window to shoot through much smaller. You barely touch on on it in your response, but I think the crux of our scoring problem is related to our shot selection. We probably would have had 60+ shots if RPI hadn't blocked so many. It seems like we always took an extra touch or made an extra pass instead of shooting. That gave RPI the chance to get their sticks or bodies in our shooting lanes. This was particularly evident on the PP; a bunch of passes around the outside and then a slap shot right into a group of 4 players.
3 years 22 weeks ago	Student Section	One of the few things we have going for us is that the students at KU are finished with the semester. Compared to how loud Allen Fieldhouse can get with a full complement of 'lubricated' fans, tomorrow should not be too bad of an atmosphere. The KC alumni club scored some seats so there should be about 30 of us in a group. Rumors are that the Denver and Omaha groups will be making the trip as well.
4 years 6 weeks ago	Battier	Not to be nit-picky, but Battier played at Detroit Country Day...which is just about as far from PSL as you can be. DCDS high school is more expensive than in-state tuition to UM.

4 years 16 weeks ago	Not superstitious...but....	I really hope we play well enough to finish up the season to go into the Tournies with some confidence. However, a #1 seed may as well be the worst thing possible for us. Damn you terriers.....
4 years 22 weeks ago	Jerk?	I'll replace 'asshat' with 'jerk' if that will make the post more PG. I understand the idea behind not speaking poorly of current and recently departed M players. My point of Sam being missed and Mallet not missed still stand; from a personality level at least.
4 years 23 weeks ago	McGuffie v. Mallett	I'll take a million quiet guys like Sam over a single pompous asshat like Mallett around campus anyday. I think it says a lot about these guys looking at the comments about them; I don't seem to remember many well-wishers sending Mallett south.
4 years 25 weeks ago	Physics	It would help him not get bounced around quite as quickly. Being as a concussion is caused by the brain impacting the skull, any decrease in the acceleration someone feels after impact would help lessen the chance of a concussion. So, if he gets a little bigger, he won't accelerate quite as fast after being hit, and have less of a chance of ending up concussed. Another option is for him to stop running so fast.
4 years 26 weeks ago	Good Advice	These 11am games make F&H pretty much impossible. I have watched a few at 810 but never the Falloon. Planning on being at the Falloon tomorrow? I definitely want to be be within walking distance of home in case I need to self-medicate after the game.

4 years 26 weeks ago	MM status is earned	Agreed with you on that. My personal views are that status as a true "Michigan Man" is something that is earned and given to you by someone else. Self-proclamation of being a Michigan Man is the first sign that you are, in fact, quite far from being one.
4 years 26 weeks ago	After the New Year	Let's not forget that with the second semester, Laval Lucas-Perry becomes eligible, adding another dynamic scorer to floor. I noticed in the game last night the Bruins really tried to shut down Manny and luckily Stu stepped up with some nice shots. Adding Lucas-Perry should open up more dependable options for scoring.
4 years 26 weeks ago	Extra Attention	I just hope all this extra attention surrounding him doesn't push him over the edge to transferring. He's a self-admitted introvert and didn't like all the attention he was getting. If he knows every thought and possible action he makes will be examined to such detail, he may just decide its not worth and transfer. Hopefully not though, he is one helluva exciting player to watch.
4 years 26 weeks ago	E)	Add in the expectations people had for him due to the YouTube videos. I think people lose perspective sometimes that these are 18-23 year old 'young men' who have more things to worry about than 85% of the people their age.
4 years 26 weeks ago	Student Athlete?	This may not just be football related either. I grew up 20 mins. from AA and had a good friend go there with me; she wanted to attend UM for as long as she could remember. Yet, after her first semester she couldn't deny that it didn't fit for her; she transferred to a small private school in Maine and loved every second of it. While football does take up a lot of time for these guys, some of them do look at the other aspects of college. Sam may not feel like he fits very well with Michigan as a school, regardless of how the season and team have gone.
