This is pretty much what I speculating about a couple of weeks ago. Lower pay, smaller buy out. I'd speculate further that this is the exact extension that was being worked out this spring. The reason it wasn't signed is JH said, essentially, "Give me one more chance to earn the contract." The team then went out and laid an egg. I think it's part of why he's been deflated since week 2. At that point, he's either taking a comeuppance extension or leaving with the job unfinished. Neither I think fits with his ego.
I'm sorry, is this a joke? You can't seriously be considering Art Briles for ANY position at Michigan. He can't even get a HS coaching job at this point. He's radioactive.
I'm the guy who hates walk ons. Walk ons playing, other than at a specialist position, is a sign of a program in trouble. These guys don't play significant roles at programs trying to win championships. Point to the last walk on to play a significant role at Alabama under Saban? Or at Clemson under Dabo? Or at OSU under any of the coaches the last 20 years? You can't.
Yeah, they make a great feel good story and we get to cheer for them and feel better about our program while we get beat by the better teams because we are doing it the "right way".
The fact that Shibley is playing now points to the losses we've had from the program and the lack of either talent or development of those that remained.
I know this is probably controversial here, but IMO walk ons are bad for the program.
Until the OT, then they went tight as hell. It was like after Cade had brought them to the brink of a victory, they suddenly were afraid to let him throw the ball.
All of you have come up with good examples. However, in every case, I believe, the starter was injured. That is what makes this game so different in my mind. This was an ineffective starter getting yanked from a game and the backup being clearly better at leading the team. Whether this plays out the rest of the season, who knows, but it worked against Rutgers.
Shibley completely blew the coverage on that play. He's stays in his zone, he likely tips it away. Instead, he moves toward the QB vacating his area. There was no way Vedral would have scored from there if he tried to run.
I almost think the Administration got on him about being too emotional on the sidelines. He came back next season and he's never exploded on the sidelines since.
I think Harbaugh wants out, so he's gone after this season. I don't think he'll be fired tonight, though it would be justified. I do think Brown might be let go after this game. And if Harbaugh says "No, I will not fire Brown", then he might get the axe tonight too, but that's the only way.
There will be a new staff next season. I think that's a given.
I'm not sold on Campbell. My daughter is at ISU right now, so I've been watching them a bit the last couple of seasons. I just don't know if his game management is much better than Harbaugh.
What are the chances we see a firing tonight? Not Harbs. They wont do that, but maybe Brown? Unless he won't fire Brown in which case you dump Harbs and Brown.

No, that is not it. This team is poorly coached and the players have quit. There is no mystical reason or voodoo or any other of this bullshit. This is a bad team. That's it.
I'm curious if anyone thinks there is anything that realistically can be done, at this point, to turn this around? I don't see firing Brown or Gattis or even Harbaugh does much of anything.

He is. He's signing Harbaugh to an extension.

If the Lions do anything other than hire Eric Bienemy as HC, I'm going to lose it.
I assumed he was out with a concussion.
Take PSU and the points.

This staff is baffling at times.

Michigan stadium has never been an advantage. We've always been a quiet, "California" type crowd.
He lost his edge after the OSU loss in 2016. Never been the same since.

Brent Venables.
This team quit before the MSU game. They laid down at the start and have never gotten up.
You shut your mouth!!!

If we didn't have this season, we'd still have this coaching staff next year.
They aren't in the game
They laid down against MSU and have never gotten up
This season? None whatsoever.
Our best best is mild COVID cases running rampant throughout the program for the rest of the season.
They have run like 3 or 4 plays all game and we can't figure out any of them. That dump into the flat has been wide open all fucking day.
How does a 5 yard penalty get you a first down on 4th and 6?
Great catch by Mike
Please stop giving the ball to Corum
