Slim and None

Slim and none and slim just left the building.  Big 10 is a one bid conference this year.  Winning the tourney (which they can do if they get all three parts - pitching, defense, offense - working together) will be their only ticket in.

Silver Lining

Thanks FA.  Makes last night's loss a little harder to take, but I am a big believer in not backing in.  Michigan has shown good resiliency all year coming back from poor outings and certainly never quitting (see NU 5/16).  Win today and make that #2 seed official and even sweeter!

Go Blue!

IOWA?

What am I missing?  Can't Iowa still tie MICH with 13 -11 records?  Doesn't Iowa hold the tie breaker over MICH for winning the series head to head?  Are you positive number two seed is a lock?  No matter, just win tomorrow and it's all moot.

Hope it doesn't come to that

#3 makes my head spin - hope they win 2 and make scenario #3 moot.  As usual, game one is huge as a win will set them up nicely for the weekend.  I am expecting  the bats to stay hot and for Oakes to have a  solid game on the hill -  if I am right, should = WIN!

Don't Think So

Redwings8831 - Would have to dig into the tiebreakers, but it looks to me like 12 wins would almost for sure put OSU in the B10 tourney, although there could be a log jam at 12-12, so you never know.

Weekend Possibilities

FA-First, lots of thanks for your previews this year, they've been great.  It's taken until the final weekend of play, but I think I finally have the Big 10 (at least MIchigan's spot) figured out.  Check my "math", but as I see it:

1. MIchigan sweeps PSU - assured 1st Rd Bye in tourney and would win B10 reg season title if MN loses two to tOSU;

2. MIchigan wins 2 - Bye if PUR loses 1 to IOWA; B10 title if MIN gets swept

3. Michigan wins 1 - can still get BYE if PUR loses 2, but doesn't get swept by IOWA and NU loses 1

Hoping for that sweep of course.

Go Blue!

Live Stats For those not lucky enough to be there in FLA, you can still follow action at: http://www.sidearmstats.com/fgcu/baseball/ They are going with line up with Crank in LF and (True Freshman) Luther at DH. I am predicting Luther has break out game tonight, we'll see. Go Blue!
Good Stuff FormerWolv: I would think Soph Crank will also get a lot of ABs. Do you see him splitting time with Stephens at DH and also spelling Berset behind the plate?
Good job! Nice report. I read and like Rogers' stuff on college baseball, but his program specific reports are understandably superficial. Thanks for adding some color and depth to his report. Keep up the good work. Less than three months until season begins. One team. One goal. Omaha!
