Great idea by maizerage, wish I was local so I could go to the game.
Did a cursory search of the board and didnt see this, so on the off chance it hasnt yet been posted thought you all might enjoy this. Seems Sarah & Jim have a good sense of humor about his outfit of choice.

i'll admit, as a total nervous nellie about this coaching search i found great comfort in reading the press release directly from the 49ers. after the way the last two searches got muddled up, cant put into words how pleased I am with Hackett, Schlissel et al for getting this done. now, if the U could put one out ASAP announcing Jim that'd be great for all our sanity and close out the 0.00000000000001% chance of 'its not done yet' in my mind

would love to see
how to measure continued player development is hard to describe, for me its more of a 'you know it when you see it' ...
I heard the announcer mention during the nd/rutgers game that if ND won (which they did) michigan has to win tonight to keep claim on being #1 in the all-time winning percentage stat.. i knew ND were close but wasnt aware it was that close - makes a win tonight even more important IMO.

no offense to our 2013 NCAA Championship squads like Men's Gymnastics, Men's Swimming & Diving, but seriously gotta throw a big F U to this year in michigan sports. never been so excited for the calendar to flip to Jan 1. while many of the varsity teams across the board had great years, the woulda, coulda, shoulda moments of what might have been for some games/teams/seasons has been to much to take.
|2 years 21 weeks ago||kinda emotionally checked out already...||
meh, i find myself somewhat spent from the ups and downs of this year in michigan sports.. i'll watch the game on sat, and root like hell for us to win, but i'm not going to get too riled up about any personnel/injury news coming out this week.
i'm a big fan of devin's, bummed to hear he's hurt (i'd guess he played with varying levels of injuries throughout most of the 2nd half of the season). sure, in a perfect world i'd prefer that our starting QB who was great (almost) all year be our qb this weekend. but i'm also a fan of the potential shane brings to the table & wish him well in his first start. would've prefered he had more time to grow into the starting role, but c'est la vie. with the # of sacks devin took this season, it felt like it was only a matter of time before he got hurt unfortunately. here's hoping that the full season with the coaches and S&C staff has put the effects of that HS senior year mono in the distant past for shane.
i hope we'll see at least a couple of deep Morris-Gallon bombs that will help put a nice little bow on jeremy's career at u-m. hopefully not too many 'ohmygodwehaveatruefreshmanqb' moments.
figure at this point the team is just playing for some positive momentum into next season & to send a great group of senior student-athletes out on a winning note. not a whole lot on the line otherwise.

|2 years 36 weeks ago||worth mentioning that||
worth mentioning that saturday was yom kippur, and U-M does have a lot of jewish students/alumni for whom this affected. not to say that comments above about quality of opponent, ticket prices, etc arent on point, but seems fair to point out that this particuar game had an additional extenuating circumstance that might have impacted turnout from folks who otherwise would have been there no matter the opponent.

you should be fine at either spot to grab a seat at the bar, particuarly if you get there early... also, if you want to join in on a table, that might be possible to arrange.. i'd suggest reaching out to the club leaders to see if they can fit an out-of-towner in at one of their tables...

|3 years 2 weeks ago||Alumni Sections||
A few of you have asked about the alumni sections, ticket sale timing etc - last year the ticketmaster sale for individual tickets began well before group sales ... this is the case again this year. The U-M Alumni Club of NY will plan once again help in arranging block sections for alums, and given the size of the group last year our ticket prices were significantly better price points than individual sales. However, it may be a couple of months before they are available.
Any questions, you can email [email protected]

($3 domestic drafts and $4 premium drafts).

thanks for the link! i usually get games on FSD on the east coast, but for whatever reason they are showing college softball instead.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||ugh||
this team's free throw shooting is attrocious. guess the upside to the early exit is more time to rest & practice before the ncaa tourney.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||love of the sport for sure...||
love of the sport for sure, but also its a fun experience at U-M. think about it... large co-ed team renting big condos for the weekend, hanging out 2-3 days straight most weekends in jan, feb and march when the weather can be cruddy in ann arbor, plus getting a chance to ski & race even if the mountains are small.
my teammates were some of my best friends from college and still stay in touch with 'em years later.
|3 years 10 weeks ago||at the race hills...||
re the practice question - i was on the team when i was in school few years back, the format was to drive up fri afternoon for the weekend and come back sunday nights...we would sometimes set up gates to run a few training runs on fri nights at whatever hill the races were at the next 2 days. definitely not alot of opportunity to train, but for many of us, we had been ski racers for many years growing up and just relied on that experience. for those who hadnt raced before or were newer to the sport, teammates/captains gave them advice etc if they wanted it. only top 3 individual men & women scores count to the team score, so not everyone needed to be an allstar.
awesome to hear that the current generation ski team is kicking a*s.
|3 years 14 weeks ago||what grade tear?||
thought i'd throw you a bone with a serious response since there arent too many on here... i tore mine, grade 3 and also did other major damage at the same time, bout 8 yrs ago. surgery went well, scars are pretty minimal, and after rehab, was absolutely back to 100%. once you get your mri results, your doc will be better able to advise. its a pretty common injury now, your doc should be well versed on the topic. i think if its grade 1 or 2 you might be able to get away without surgery, but you might want it anyways.
|3 years 14 weeks ago||to keep it simple...||
i suppose the simplest advice is to be sure to used a U-M licensed vendor, there is a lengthy list of approved vendors. Each of them know all the little details of what can and cant be done. (as i said initially, a lot of little things, such as the block M can't be altered in anyway, even things such as a width of an outline are strictly enforced, the circle R (®) must appear, etc etc).
i'm not trying to lay claim to being an expert on the topic by any means...
|3 years 14 weeks ago||to be nitpicky...||
since i just went through this myself in designing a shirt recently, might be worth pointing out to anyone unsure that the block M is a registered trademark of the university. this of course means there are some details that must be adhered to when it comes to using the design legally.
i suppose not selling them negates some of the concern, but given the high profile nature of the shirts amongst the recruits, it is possible that young mr ferns might get a gentle conversation directed his way on the correct usage of copyrighted material from the powers that be.
other than, cool idea for the commits.
|3 years 17 weeks ago||jalen video||
didnt read the freep piece, but i saw a short clip on espn yesterday where they interviewed jalen about the current team, i'm assuming this piece might've spun from those comments. think its paywalled/insider, but for those interested in the source - http://insider.espn.go.com/blog/colleges/michigan/post/_/id/9795/jalen-rose-on-nations-new-no-1
jalen works for espn as an analyst right? he'd likely be there anyway if/when our team is in a big march madness game.

|3 years 19 weeks ago||so disappointed||
i havent had many opportunities to watch this years team play (they arent on tv too often in my area) but after watching tonight im torn between dissapointment and disgust. goaltending is atrocious, passes are sloppy, missed goals on open nets, the list can go on for awhile. its an embarrasment to see these guys sporting the block m right now. really miss hunwick out there, but its not just goaltending thats a problem. really hope something/someone lights a fire under them and they start living up to the great tradition of hockey at yost.
|3 years 19 weeks ago||saw that too||
that definitely looked bad. hope the kid's ok. not the smartest decision to rush tho.
|3 years 24 weeks ago||a total guess...||
definitely do your own research on this, but if you don't want to take the train, maybe you could drive up to the Path in NJ? I would think they have some park & ride lots to park in... you should be able to take the path to WTC and switch over to one of the many subway lines that go to the barclays. might be a short walk from the path to the subway... no idea if faster/easier....
|3 years 24 weeks ago||i'd suggest transit...||
if you can hop on metro north in to grand central from CT, it's very quick and easy to take the 4/5 subway to atlantic ave/barclays center. only takes about 25 mins to get there from grand central...
my guess is that would be far more convenient than driving in, street parking can be pretty tough in that area. pretty sure there is a parking garage close to the arena, but they likely increase rates on days when there are events at the arena.
|3 years 24 weeks ago||all 3... also...pregame event info||
Tickets are definitely good for all three games. (2:30pm tipoff - St John's vs St Francis, 5pm tipoff - Princeton vs Fordham, 8pm tipoff - Michigan vs West Virginia).
Check out the club's website for registration and info on the pregame event - 5-7:30pm at the 40/40 club, suite level of the arena. Several special guests expected to be on hand, silent auction with autograhed memoribilia, etc etc.

completely agree. they could've explained the leadership aspect of the navy seals experience better, but other than that, pretty pleased.
|3 years 27 weeks ago||alums...||
don't forget about all the BIG alums in the area who'd be watching! although most of us already pay the coupla bucks a month to get BTN on our cable package. Michigan and PSU alone probably have at least 50,000 alumni in the tristate metro area..
im not a fan of any of this btw... just playing devils advocate on this small point.
but yes, no one cares about rutgers here, not even most rutgers alums. terrible fit for the BIG. i dont know enough about maryland to comment on that.
the only upside to this turrible idea is the promise of a Michigan game in NJ every few years. selfishly, this is convenient, and that stadium would offer a pretty friendly 'road' environment similiar to Northwestern.
|3 years 28 weeks ago||if it helps...||
the NY alumni club has (sold out of) seats in section 8, 113, and 221. I think everything from section 108/107 through 115/116 ish (and corresponding higher sections) would be the michigan half of the arena, so if you pick up any tickets in that half you should be surrounded by michigan fans.
the michigan bench is supposed to be in front of sections 107/108; cornell in front of 107/106
|3 years 28 weeks ago||Tickets for NYC games....||
Anyone looking for tickets to any of the upcoming NYC basketball games, feel free to check out the ticket options from the NY alumni club. Slightly better pricing available than what you would pay through ticketmaster.
For the NIT, the alumni club has seats on hold with MSG and will purchase as soon as its confirmed that Michigan is into the semis. If they fail to make the semifinals, all will be refunded in full. (also, if you purchase the 11/23 tickets, its assumed that you want to watch Michigan play basketball on Friday, regardless of whether it is in the consolation game or the finals.)

|3 years 39 weeks ago||ainsworth park instead of the hill...||
just a heads up that the club has swapped the Hill (former basketball bar) for the ainsworth park as a sports bar for football/basketball/etc. its under the same ownership/management as the hill - its a new bar for them opening shortly. pretty sure the crowd from the hill will be moving to the ainsorth park. bar will likely have the same vibe as the hill, but is bigger with more tvs and tables.

|3 years 40 weeks ago||u hit on some key issues...||
i should probably refrain from jumping in on this convo, but what the hell here goes. we are of course aware that august is vacation time for alot of NY'ers. that said, it is a football kickoff event, and is usually held right before football season starts for a reason. as ish points out, if we did it in september the season has already started and previews are pointless. too early in the summer and the info wont be as useful/relevant since fall camp hasn't started.
event last night was about 100ppl, and to be honest i dont think previous crowds at the kickoff event were even that large.
exact timing of the event had to do with coordinating schedules and venue availability.

that my friend, is a fantastic suggestion.
|3 years 42 weeks ago||not saying its fair, but...||
im not saying its fair or accurate, but yes i think thats basically what happened. the IOC president at the time of the decision was european and was hell bent on removing softball and baseball. i actually think baseball is pretty global.... maybe not so much softball but there sure as sh*t are other olympic sports out there that arent truly global. a real shame... i'm pretty sure for womens softball an olympic medal was really the highest level of prestige attainable.
|3 years 42 weeks ago||early signing....||
i think more useful than an early signing period would be allowing kids to take official visits in their junior year. some kids/families cant afford to travel cross country on unofficials, and with things moving earlier and earlier it would seem fair to let them use some of their 5 visits in junior year, in case they really do have interest in a school a bit further away. my 2 cents...
|3 years 42 weeks ago||sort of...||
while i think trampoline is a ridiculous 'sport' to earn an olympic medal, i dont think that had anything to do with softball n baseball getting booted. if i recall correctly (and i probably dont) it had more to do with those sports not having a global following, and so a small handful of countries were completely dominant. ie, usa, some latin american countries, canada and some asian countries. if either sport were more popular in europe it would still be an olympic sport IMHO.

the speed in which you nailed that response is damn impressive. +1 to the board.

others covered the phelps/clary/lochte news... might as well make mention that rebecca soni continued her dominance in the 200m breaststroke... set a new world record after setting it in the semis. she successfully defended her 2008 gold in the same event...
|3 years 44 weeks ago||team emphasis...||
i guess i like the team emphasis of the block M on the shoulder and Michigan across the back (instead of players name on the back/# on the arm)... these are def better than the UTL/ MSU bumblebee disaster, but i still dont like them more than the real uni.
|3 years 44 weeks ago||big ten rule...||
i believe that when the B1G championship game was conveived, the conference had to establish rules for tiebreaker type situations. as part of that process, they also included the rule that a Big Ten program who is banned from playing in a bowl game will not be allowed to participate in the Big Ten title game.

|3 years 44 weeks ago||hmm...||
ah well that does change the answer a bit. There is a NH club, although its probable that any local events they run might not be entirely close to where you live. (http://newhampshire.umclubs.com/)
Outside of the regional club presence (social networking, career networking, intramural alumni sports teams, gameday watch parties, etc) there are a number of other areas where being an alumni association member can be beneficial. There are a number of hotel/car rental/insurance/ discounts on kaplan test prep / etc types of discount codes available. I use the car rental ones alot and it always saves some decent $$. (http://alumni.umich.edu/join/savings-and-special-access). AAUM membership also brings along with it access to their 'Lifelong Learning Catalog' (http://lifelonglearningcatalog.umich.edu/), online publications database & university library virtual access, access to a number of career services (http://alumni.umich.edu/jobs), michigan alumnus magazine, family camping opportunities at Camp Michigania / Michigania East (in upstate NY), just to list a few.
Worth noting that membership to AAUM is not regional specific - when you join AAUM you can become a part of any regional club. So, if you think you may be moving around in the future, the multi-year membership will still be of use regardless of location. Particuarly on sports and speaker related items, there are numerous opportunities to take advantage of the AAUM affiliation if moving to the ann arbor/detroit area given the proximity to campus.
not sure if thats helpful or not...

|3 years 45 weeks ago||completely agree...||
first page or three is pretty comical.
i take a bit of issue w/ #4 tho - "were playing “power hour” which is a drinking game on YouTube, ..." power hour and century club existed way before youtube. youtube may have just made it easier for ppl too lazy to make their own mix cid switching songs every minute.
also a little surprised they admitted in a legal document that young saban drove home from the bar, after power hour and the bar shenanigans. seems like she's daring the cops to give her a DUI/DWI too.

im probably missing something here, but... i dont think anything has changed today coming out of the freeh report from the perspective of the psu recruits. the story had broken with enough details before most of them had committed that they had to know something like this report would/could be coming down the pipeline. the ncaa is not going to react quickly on this, particuarly since things are still playing out in the courts.

ok, so here's what he tweeted a couple of hours ago:
"Michigan cats left me ..smh" immediately followed by "Cooling w/ the UF boys"
take it for what its worth. (ie, not much). hopefully its nothing and hes just messing with his guys. hopefully shane remedies that asap. not sure if shane had made it to the opening yet when this was tweeted.

the alumni association will have its "Official University of Michigan Cowboys Classic Tailgate Party".... I believe the Dallas alumni club has also reserved a bar/restaurant in the DFW area for Michigan fans only on gameday...
other than that, havent heard anything else yet.

not really sure the exact rules about premium content... but lets just say that those with WolverineNation access over at ESPN can read some TomVH thoughts on this... he's had a chance to speak with Laquon about his tweets...i think its ok to comment that the tweets are definitely not about a honey nut vs regular cheerios decision.

was pretty bummed to see that. but the ticketmaster folks probably worked with the cornell/msg folks in organizing, and since cornell is "big red" i've seen in several places advertisements about this game being all about big red vs big blue. so wrong. soooo wrong.
|3 years 49 weeks ago||impressed...||
as an east coaster who hast had to deal with the time zone issues, i just wanted to chime in that I am crazy impressed that there's a solid core of alums getting out to the bars at 6am for our noon starts. go blue!
|3 years 50 weeks ago||plenty of NY/tristate based alums ...||
there should be plenty of students & alums that live in the area or will be home for thanksgiving to boost attendance... With the OSU game @ noon, should be time to watch the football game then scoot over to MSG, although I doubt there will be a sober Michigan fan in the house. With the possibility of bball at MSG the same week (preseason nit semifinals and finals, if they make it) plus bball again in december, making for a great year for us NY based alums.
anyone know if tickets will be sold through MSG or through the school?
|3 years 50 weeks ago||LSU?||
thought i read somewhere (in the last 24 hours following the commencement of the michigan fanbase LS freakout/debate) that the #1 LS was on scholarship to LSU? (we apparently signed the #2 LS....). could be wrong tho...
we also know MSU has a LS on scholarship offer since they offered a guy who was previously a preferred walkon committment to michigan... was that the 2013 or 2012 class?
|3 years 51 weeks ago||bad is relative...||
the record might not have been great, and things will definitely improve once they have a chance to recruit D1 caliber athletes, but I think a whole bunch of those losses were actually realtively close. I saw the Rutgers game live, and our guys were right in it til the end. The game was tied for long stretches - michigan seemed to hold its own pretty well despite some apparent weaknesses which will be addressed in the next few recruiting cycles. A little more luck/skill here and there and Team 1 might have picked up another 3-4 wins on the season.
|3 years 51 weeks ago||thanks captainblue...||
i dont have enough points to start a thread, but I'm glad someone else thought this was postworthy. Watched the end of the nohitter, and then the twittersphere helped me realize one of our Daily writers and recent grad lucked into having the honor of writing this up for the NYtimes.... Tim put together a very well written piece. Another great accomplishment by a michigan man, in week 2 of his internship no less. What a way to kick off a career in sports journalism.

i can mention it to them. I saw brian posted the hockey candidates w/ hunwick in there... are the basketball candidates up to? (and if so, did novak make the cut?)
|4 years 5 weeks ago||ditto...||
well cant chime in too much on the technical commentary, but as to #1 - the alums, fans and family tonight were fantastic. think we managed to completely dominate and fluster the rutgers crowd, so thats good. was nice to show the boys some away game support in year 1. they showed great promise... tough loss but seems like good things to come from the team.

in this case club refers to the Alumni Association's Local Club chapters.... basically they are asking alumni leaders not to use 'official capacities' to further the debate or voice personal opinions on behalf of the club represented.

wow i dont think i've been this excited by a single decision from an [19 year old] kid in a very, very long time. obviously great news for michigan basketball faithful, but more importantly, i think it was the right choice for him and the extra year of development should bode well for his future success in the NBA. its great when the best interests of the university and of the student athlete align.
|4 years 8 weeks ago||playing devils advocate a bit||
I dont think thats entirely fair to the student athletes at our university. while there will always be outliers, i happened to have some atudent athletes in my courses while at UM (LS&A) and they were on time to class, participating fully, and almost without exception added value to the class discussions. (I for one had a starting michigan football quarterback in one of my classes and small group section, and I can tell you he gave 100% effort, and wasnt a 'rocks for jocks' guy.) some more well known examples of stellar academic student-athletes might be kids like Zoltan and more recently Novak who found success pursuing a prestigious BBA at the ross school.
don't forget, there are outliers within the normal student body as well.
not saying by any means that we have the market corned on rhodes scholars, but at the same time the problem seems significantly worse down in the sec. when was the last time you heard about a topnotch recruit getting turned down by admissions at an SEC school? michigan has done that. and the michigan coaches have in the past stopped pursuing some top notch recruits b/c their academic profile would have a limited at best shot of getting past admissions.
|4 years 8 weeks ago||fair enough...||

|4 years 8 weeks ago||if i recall correctly, magnus||
if i recall correctly, magnus sparked a mini mgomeltdown with a comment that LTT has tremendous upside but something to the effect that he was a bit raw and needed some improvements re technique/footwork ... EE gives him more time to do so right, plus access to the mich strength & conditioning facilities?

|4 years 8 weeks ago||april fools or real?||
thought this too... wary of any 4/1 posts - can we confirm if this is a legit news story? if i recall correctly he did say his mom was planning on moving closer to whichever college he chose to accept a scholarship to play football and get a degree... would make sense if he moves near ann arbor.... yet another step for LTT in achieving his goals. perhaps trips to core 6 no longer, but instead popping in to barwis instead senior year?
|4 years 10 weeks ago||not just GS...||
a couple of my colleagues use the term 'muppet' with the same type of derogatory tone / 'dunce' reference as in the GS conversation... they are of european descent. i wonder if that cultural reference has been around for a long time 'cross the pond?
if we want to try to make this a bit more mgoblog relevant... well i know its a stretch... but for those who are still in school or early in your career - i would suggest using 'muppet gate' as an example of what not to do when deciding to move on to another firm. Greg Smith basically used an op-ed piece in the NY Times to announce his resignation from Goldman and rip GS apart in glorious fashion. needless to say, alot of folks in the industry have been quite amused by the whole thing, but its also safe to say he might have difficulty finding employment in financial services industry again.

had an opportunity to meet Fred Wilpon and see him speak to a small group last year... in the middle of the comments his phone rang, for which he apologized. the interesting part? his ringtone was "Hail to the Victors". (btw i think Fred is the majority owner, his son jeff is COO, but it might be a shared family ownership, not positive.) too bad the mets are an awful baseball team.
|4 years 13 weeks ago||why have senior day on spring break?||
i think the idiot who scheduled our last home game to be during a student break deserves to shoulder some of the blow for todays loss... maize raige has alot to do with the team's run at home.

I believe Arthur Miller was a freshman when Gerald Ford and Willis Ward were seniors. Per the documentary (which i recently saw), his involvement in this story had to do with his job at the Michigan Daily - he felt very strongly that Willis should play or the game should be canceled, and wrote an editorial piece for the daily that at the end of the day the Daily didnt publish because it was too scathing. (not shown as it cant be found, but its existence and content were corrobarated by folks involved)
|4 years 13 weeks ago||Black and Blue||
I have to hope that this was poor editing on the Detnews part, but the JUB article doesnt make any mention or refence to the ~1hr long documentary "Black and Blue: The Story of Gerald Ford, Willis Ward and the 1934 Michigan-Georgia Tech Football Game". (John is interviewed on camera at times in the documentary.)
If it weren't for the documentary, I think this is a story that would have remained forgotten by most. While not our finest moment as a school, at least we were ahead of the times by inviting Ward to be on scholarship and at UofM at a time when others wouldnt, for the most part the student body rallied on Wards behalf when the GT situation arose, and to his credit, Yost did seem to learn from this experience and had some personal growth during his tenure at UofM when it came to racism. Apparently later on Yost stuck up for Willis when the Palmer House Hotel in chicago (where big ten was formed) wanted to preclude willis from staying there with the team. Yost forced their hand, threatening that Michigan and the BigTen would never stay there again if they didnt allow Ward to stay with the team.

I get that elmer is a probable 5* stud, but isnt this the same kid that was on the michigan sideline for the under the lights ND game, and found himself rooting for ND? If you can be there for one of the more epic comebacks in college football, in an environment as electric as the big house was that night (w/ all 115,000 fans on their feet every snap) and not be inclined to at least stay indifferent, then he just doesnt seem like a good fit for us. Not saying that every player needs to bleed blue from day one, but seems his heart is elsewhere. Also seems like a high transfer risk/verbal committment flipflop if he did end up blue. The coaches are doing a great job, we've already got a great class and we're not done yet. We'll be fine w/out him.

it seems to me that our rivals are as follows:
#3. MSU*. a local rival. in-state rivalry has more to do with the instate bragging rights, geographic proximity, 'house divided' mentality since folks throuhgout the state would have theoretically applied to either school to attend college. our overwhelming dominance in the historic matchup stats negates this as a possible candidate for our biggest rivalry. it's just annoying when you live in the same state as fans of another school, and thus have to hear about a loss for a year, thus our countdown clocks to the game and our desire to win so msu fans shut up for 12 months. so, while they circle the game against us, we circle the OSU game.
#2. ND is a natural rival as the #1 and #2 winningest programs of all time (winning percentages) and #1 and #3 in all time wins. each time we beat them we improve our lead, and thus they become an intense rival. two elite programs, with long and proud histories & national fanbases. much as we enjoy beatign ND, there is a fair amount of mutual respect between the programs, IMO.
#1. tsio. true hatred between the schools, alums, and historically, the states going back to the 1800's. annual matchup as the last game for each team has time and time again decided the big ten champion and been a factor in launching or dashing national title hopes. it doesnt matter who's ranked better, who has the better record - the game is a crapshoot and one of the most physical games played between any two schools all year. (obviously, i am refering the the rivalry in general over 75+years, not focused on the last few years here)
*i'm an out of state alum, so perhaps have a slightly different perspective on that instate rivalry....

|4 years 30 weeks ago||no problems||
wave83 - unless i'm horribly mistaken, in '03 the field was the same level it is now. (drop was during renovation in the early 90s?)... no problems at all getting onto the field, actually the security guys were quite helpful. they seemed resigned to the fact that that the student section was rushing one way or another, and they'd be well placed to try to prevent injuries. students coming over the drop slowed down the process, so it was more that we swarmed the field rather than "rushed". UM staff was very protective of/concerned about the goal posts...
|4 years 30 weeks ago||vs osu 2003||
re wondering when Michigan last rushed the field, we did it in 03 after beating osu and locking up the big ten championship. was in row 2 as a senior, and as the word filled thru the student section that everyone was going to rush, security came out and filled around the stadium with a few minutes left in the game. we were sure we'd get arrested or something as the first few over, but instead cops were holding their hands out to help people drop down without getting hurt.
