I think we're on the right track, but his grade would go down significantly with a loss to the hapless Illini this weekend. So far, I don't feel that we have lost to any teams with inferior talent, and we need to keep feasting on the cupcakes in Champaign.
I can't believe the only mention of Zingerman's is the Road House. I only get to one game a year, so I'm definitely planning on going there this weekend.
I understand that $12 sandwiches aren't everyone's idea of a great time, but it's uniquely Ann Arbor and the food is outstanding. Corner of 5th and Kingsley. (Edit: didn't read the last line closely enough, if you mean meet friends for beers, than Zingerman's is a no go. Maybe Sunday for lunch?)

Looking at the teams above them, maybe if the Wizards don't gel or the Bulls regress, they could sneak into the playoffs, but right now I don't think they're a playoff team.
The Knicks are on pace to have the most cap space ($21M) heading into the summer of 2010. Whether they can sign LeBron or not, they will have some cap room to work with and the allure of playing in one of America's premier cities. Also, they have a proven general manager and coach in Donnie Walsh and Mike D'antoni.

CBS and Fox split the weeks they have doubleheaders, so since yesterday was a CBS doubleheader day, there was no early Fox game. If you want coverage maps for Pro Football, as well as announcing schedules, I highly recommend Awful Announcing, found at http://awfulannouncing.blogspot.com/.
But if that is the case, doesn't it imply that there was not a framework in place to handle these incidents? Doesn't it speak poorly of the Big Ten to not have anticipated this situation and to have to come up with something on the fly to deal with it?
Otherwise, if this had been in place from day one, there shouldn't be any inefficiency which would cause the suspensions to be announced at different times.
I know the comment only referred to Chicago, but downstate Illinois has produced some solid hoops talent as well: Frankie Williams, Andre Iguodala, and Shaun Livingston were all NBA first round picks who played downstate within the last ten years.
I think the difference is that Illinois is more of a basketball state. Bruce Weber almost gets fired for one bad year, whereas the Zooker is going on three bad years out of four and everyone only remembers the good year.
Not to split hairs, but I remember when Lloyd did the "line up for a field goal, direct snap to kicker who punts" in the fourth quarter and I knew Michigan was going to lose.
Often when quarterbacks take a step back it's because of line play. Looking strictly at a team's W-L record doesn't take into account changes at other positions. Chad Henne's statistics in the 2005 season weren't significantly different from the preceding or following seasons, but the W-L records are night and day.

jbuofm (Peoria): As a Michigan alum, I am extremely excited about tonight's game. However, do you think John Beilein is capable of building a national championship caliber program, or are his teams destined to be scrappy over-achiever types who might make an occasional final four run, but be out classed once they get that far? Don't get me wrong, at this point I'm excited about anything positive in Michigan basketball.
John Gasaway: You can be a bright guy with a sophisticated offense and still recruit well and get to the Final Four, I dare say. Georgetown in 2007 comes to mind. I say you are right to be extremely excited.
