Great game

Great Fiesta Bowl vs. Bugeaters. Thought Paul Jokisch would be great receiver in NFL with Joe Montana. Game versus S. Carolina one of M's most dominant games on road  for ever almost.

Let do it

Highlighter endzone. Blue endzone. Alternate highlighter and blue every five yards on field. Blue pants, highlighter helmet with blue wings. Highlighter jerseys. Arbys logos in end zones. Arena football is awesome. Herm help us.

Section One

says Rich Rod, Herm says Frank Broyles.

Section One

Wearing my

#1 Dave Whiteford, Greg Willner jersey.

Ever hear of

Mike Griffin and Loy Vaught?

Where did Mike Curtis play?

Luv me some Dennis Franklin, Rob Lytle, Ed Shuttlesworth,, Greg Morton, Curtis Greer, Tom Curtis, Thom Darden, Dave Brown, and Don Dufek Jr.. And Gordie Bell.

Several more JC's

Larry Banks, Rob Carreon, Mike Kerr, and Shaw and Panter.

Tom Klaban

Not only his 4 FG's to beat M 12-10 in 74 but how he said Lantry choked.

Like the song

American Pie except I remember that I cried. So many great lines in song .

Never ever

Saw AC. Late 80's Minnesota game that rained and was dark. 5-0 Purdue game. Cordell Stewart. Why would you spend hours of your day getting there and getting ready and leave early. To go to what?

I was there

We sat in drinken, stoned silence. We tied Indiana, we thought. Corso, with a chance to go for two went for the tie instead of going for his biggest victory in career. Seconds later we were running on the field like mad men. Ran in front of Indiana bench where WR#85 Mike Friede was crying, being consoled by his parents. In my slightly dazed state I was going to laugh at him but I didn't have the heart to do it. Instead I patted him on the shoulder pads and said, "Man, you guys played a great game man." He said "Thanks man" and I felt good that I didn't rub the salt in his aching wounds. Michigan pass was a play action pass with 5 seconds to go. Shows how advanced M passing game was.

Your history?

Mine too. Mike Lantry and Bo's history. And poor Bob Ufer on the first one.

Met his dad at Disney World

Stefan Humphries .

Thought of another

Rob Carreon QB from a California JC. Played a game or two in early 70's and got a broken jaw I believe.

TD Timmy

Biakabatuka was awesome. Olatide Ogunfitidimi at M was good name too.

2 WRS

Fred Brockington from UCLA. Ed Kasparek from Notre Dame.

UH?

I think you're wrong on that one.

Hey Herm

Folletts on State. Old German before game. Bimbos after game.

A2

Wayne Deneff was good. Then there was Jason Whitlock, Rich Thomaselli, Jim Carty, assholes all. The Carty "expose" on academics was last attempt at journalism. Sort of a Freep job Section 1. Then they became a wire service paper. I worked there for almost 26 years. Am I pissed? Ya think? Used to have great M coverage then they gave up. If it was locally owned it would still be going but the way it was they gave up a couple years before it's demise.

GO TRIBE

As a Tribe fan the Tigers have given my some of the few pleasures of the season. The win over Verlander late was highlight of the year. Extra inning 5 run inning for Tigers send Tribe to hell. If Tribe can win Wed. would be awesome. I think Lloyd is on the way out too since they brought Toby Harrah up as a overseer. I remmember when Tribe was tuuurrrrible. 90's broke my heart. Early 2000's they were really good. Now they can't hit there way out of a paper bag. Wha happen?

Mallett

The name everyone will spell wrong forever. Even the A2 News would do it. They made a lot of typos. I worked there and we would see the mistakes and be amazed.

Boomer Sooner

That Oklahoma team was stacked and we hung with them.Winning TD on reverse to Tinker Owens. Dan Jilek was there but missed and Owens was gone. Was there. What a great trip. Met Roger Szrafranski. Wish Elzinga could complete a pass. Saw a practice at Miami baseball field. Jim Betts was at the gate and  let us in. We said "Jim Betts" and he welcomed us in. Gordie Bell couldn't throw a pass in practice so no surprise he threw pick in game . He threw TD in OSU game to Jim Smith that was total bad pass. Bo should have retired that play. Met Barry Switzer going through OK hotel. Mom loved him forever after that. "Oh there's my old friend Barry." Went to Joe's Stone Crab. Great OK team . Great bowl trip.

Saturday has started

Start of football with Staee on Friday has the juices flowing. Labatt my friend. Great band on Letterman tonight, The Glorious Dead. Combo of James Brown and Sly and the Family sound. Never heard of them before. I hope I remember the game Saturday. Another beer? Yes, thank you. Saturday can not come fast enough. Came back to edit. I wrote Satyrday. Instead of bobblehead the Yanks are going to have Satyr Day for A Rod.

Beckman and Brandy

Beer and bongs.

I would love to see

Michigan get U Conn to play at Ford Field. Work on it Mr. Noid. Beer and MEEECCCHHHEEEGAN. That would work.

UTL

After watching most of second half I'm ready for some football. Put me in coach I'm ready to play right now. Never mind that I'm 53 and can't run a lick. I predict a case of Labatt is in serious trouble next Saturday. UTL was amazing. From last fall that Road Trip show was the coolest show ever.

Let's wear

Let's wear all Blue. Let's wear Blue pants. Let's wear Maize jerseys. Let's not.

Cool dude

Colby Rasmus is cool with his hair and shades. Oscar Gamble, Coco Crisp cool. Looks like he'll burn one with you behind the dugout.

Hold on my friend

If we could buy out a road game for a neutral game in Ford Field every one wins except the restaraunt owners in Conn.

U Conn

If we can't get U Conn in Ford Field Rogers Centre would be awesome. MSU is a little more creative in their sports marketing than Michigan, sadly. The U Conn game would be one to try to get somewhere else. Hard sell but that's why you are Captain America, Dave Brandon.

Better yet

Michigan should get U Conn to play at Ford Field. Money talks Dominos man.

Call my Dogg

Snoop Lion. He's a football coach. It's all about the fun, right?

Woot Woot

Hasn't this been posted yesterday, blah, blah blah. Doesn't this brand suck, blah, blah, blah. Deja Vu all over again.

Uh quite a bit

Family season tics riding from Essexville in 72. Dad, me, 2 sisters. both brother in laws, 3 nieces, brother in laws brothers all grads.  Bo posing for pic for sis outside tunnel after game in 73. What a nice guy.  Bob Ufer. Touchdown Billy Taylor in 71.  Orange Bowl. Met Roger Szrafanski. Joe's Stone Crab. Rose Bowl next next year. Lawrey's, Disneyland, Knott's Berry Farm , and Uncle Whitey and Red..  Missed 2 games while playing in high school. Went from 72 to 96 with missing 2 home games. Then I had a family thing. Brother in law has tics now . Section 4. Running down Main Street to get to Bimbos. The dawn of the tailgate era. Before that The Old German. I have missed very few games in 40 yrs live. Pretty important to my family. Haven't seen many in person in recent years. The start of our tics with Denny Franklin was awesome. 30-2 1. Then the college years. A joint for every TD and we would score 70 vs. Navy. Stroh's stay cold packs. Mel Owens biggest asshole I ever met.  Hockey player Jeff Mars nicest athlete I ever met. Uh means a lot . Jean Otto from WBB was cool too, and I feel terrible can't remember last name of pitcher red head from my dorm who was a sorta bit player but was cool guy. Pitched in relief in CWS but darn the name escapes me. Between age and Molson tonite, darn. Just thought of it couple hours later. Dave Nuss.  Good guy.

Wow

To say nothing is good. Take a survey and say I'm not sure to every question. Enlightening.

Desmond year

Only time I saw M at msu was the Desmond year. My and my buds had many buds that year. What a great time.

You are correct sir

Saw my first ohio M game in 73. The tie. Franklin fake to Shuttlesworth one of best TD'S ever. Historian my ass. Great Ufer confused call. Bucks and Ufer didn't know who had the ball.

UH

Cuz everyone who was alive when Lions won is either dead or doesn't remember anymore like my team the Cleveland Indians. And thank F-Head Modell for turning my favorite, once great team team into a F'ing joke. Kelly, Darden, Matthews, Sipe, Kosar, Minniefield, Newsome, Byner, Mack, Rucker, Brennan, oh never mind. The new Browns are so tuuurribble it's sad.

Wha Happen

I miss Strohs.

Yeah but

They call him Geno so that's cool.  Then there's that US women's hoops coach. Here's to the Genos.

I Hear u my Michigan Man

I drink Labatt and Molson by the case. Same price as the Buds and Millers. I am one of the moron graduates. But college was the best years of my life. Shit 7 yrs of college down the drain.

Bottoms up

Our program has reached the bottom. No where to go but up.

Hey Brah

I am Roger Szrafranski and my brahs are Tom Huiskens, Chip Pederson, and my boy the Z, Elzinga.

Seriously

Last A2 high school grad to score TD for Michigan.  Wolverine Historian are you really a historian? No one since 60's at least. Someone. Anyone. Carl Tabb was our great hope. Didn't make it.

Riddle me this

Who is the last graduate of an Ann Arbor high school to score a TD for Michigan? Harbaugh does not count, he was Palo Alto.

Say what?

Broken hand by Ricky Green when? More like a Cornbread intolerance.

Omega and your buddies

I tip my Cleveland Indians hat to you and your buddies. Thanks for the bong hits. Omega was cool. Fixed up place downtown but the rent was steep. Sold to NYPD. Still talk to Omega owners and they lament the high rents and still wish they could do another Omega. They now own Tony's Roofing but we all miss the italian subs, breadsticks, and pizzas.

Anyone remember Omega in A2

I delivered for Omega for a long time. Some of the cool regs would give me a joint or load up mad bong hits.  Many were stingy and you knew you were getting very little going there. $1.75 in old days on $13.25 was cool. Hear people tip more now. M students sort of have more money now than we all did in 70's-80's.
