Many of you may know this,…

Many of you may know this, but this tournament replaced the former Western Open, and is run by the Western Golf Association (WGA). This tournament benefits the Evans Scholars Foundation, which is the best kept secret in higher education. The Evans Scholarship is a full academic and housing scholarship for golf caddies who demonstrate financial need. We have a chapter house at U-M, and for anyone with kids in middle school and high school, this is an incredible opportunity for them (and even if they aren't interested in college, caddying is THE BEST summer job there is).

Very much agree. I'm was an in-state engineering undergrad and MBA grad. Most employers really respond well to a mix of degrees, and the MBA will get you everything a BBA does and more.

Has anyone been able to find…

Has anyone been able to find the more detailed data he used to have in Google Sheets? Offense, Defense, etc.

PS Vue

I got PS Vue -- it has a cloud DVR that stores shows up to 28 days, lets me pause, rewind, and fast forward live television, and gives me pretty much all sports channels I need for Michigan, including BTN and all the March Madness networks. It's $45 a month, and my internet is $25 a month (only a 25 Mbps connection). I don't really have any problems with streaming, so for $70/month I'm pretty happy.

Excellence is in the details

Love the "dilithium reinforced"

Unbelievable

Lloyd Brady did it again.

Off Topic, but...

Lloyd Brady does it again.  In the top right of the Texas flag pic.  He has a strong case for MGoHOF candidacy.

It seems like player

It seems like player development and individual attitude is way too important to get hung up on these luxury problems associated with early commits.  If these kids have 4* talent and we sneak a 5* here or there along the way, the rest is on the coaches and the players' character.

The all too obvious case that stands out in my mind is Mattison's 2011 Renaissance - and with a bunch of top 250/300 talent the difference between #50 Overall and #75 Overall doesn't carry that much weight for me.  There are the Chuck Woodsons and Reggie Bushs of the college world, but betting the house on finding them doesn't seem nearly as smart as grabbing 20 other highly talented teammates.

Duke

I always wanted to see us try and perpetuate this rivalry with them, where we've had some pretty decent performances (and awful ones as well).  Does the B1G-ACC challenge make it impossible for this to happen every year like the idea for ND?

Hockey would be just plain

Hockey would be just plain dangerous to crossover.  The fact that the women don't play with contact makes it a totally different game.  One solid check from a decent male player would most likely put a female out for the game.  Contact sports aren't really fair to compare when size and testerone are so important.

Bowling

This is a sport I always wanted to see men's and women's pros go at it in.  I know bowling is sometimes tough to consider a sport, but for that very reason it seems like testerone is not much of an advantage here.  It doesn't help to be faster or taller or bigger, although I have to imagine ball speed and weight are fairly important.  I'm not a bowler, so some input would be nice.

Ohhhhh, the golf ball into

Ohhhhh, the golf ball into the hole sound.  That's therapeutic for me - I wish I could play it on loop for a half hour or so every night before I fall asleep.

Are the only restrictions

Are the only restrictions size, weight, and number of panels?  Could someone use a rubber ball if they really wanted to?

Agreed.  Gotta have crazy

Agreed.  Gotta have crazy legs.

Missing cast members

It looks like Bo, Bret, and Bill are being written off the show.

If the site is gonna redirect If the site is gonna redirect to something, HD food isn't a bad option. Could use drink pairings though...
AHAHAHAHA

I almost like the Schadenfreude more than getting the recruits themselves, almost.

The disgust on the RCMB is rich, decadent you could say.  And seeing Jon L. recruiting comparisons get worked into the mix...well this is a symphony green and white pain.

I'm pretty sure this O-line

I'm pretty sure this O-line could hold off whatever the apocalypse has for us long enough for Devin and/or Shane to take us to a B1G Championship.

I've been wondering about

I've been wondering about that - is that considered one of the major advantages to getting kids to commit early (besides locking down 4-star talent of course)?  So the coaches can try and go for home run recruits for the remaining year or so?

Clearly this a Michigancentric question, since I have to imagine places like USC or Texas or FSU don't worry as much with a wealth of talent within walking distance to campus.

This video is almost comical

This video is almost comical - every play this kid is 5 yards into the backfield almost instantly.  Hoke and Mattison are gifted, but it's tough to see him making it past the Mason-Dixon line.

I just think of @MSU Jan,

I just think of @MSU Jan, 2011 - these guys gave it all to the program.

Yost didn't like blacks and

Yost didn't like blacks and catholics, I'm sure the Irish weren't high on his list, and you can probably include Italians, any type of Eastern European, or anyone east of Poland to the Pacific for that matter.

Who did Yost like?  Starting to run out of "Yost-eligible" players

Say it again brother

As if seeing ohio and Michigan snatch up recruits like hotcakes wasn't bad enough for every other B1G school, having almost every analyst agree that the conference is regressing to its former two team power struggle, a modern day big two little ten, must be incredibly disheartening.

Chuck's celebration

I think that Woodson shoulder-pad shimmy is my favorite M-player celebration ever.  Has any other player imitated that?

I was pretty distraught when

I was pretty distraught when we moved to Adidas because I normally think their shoes look like crap, but I my sentiments completely changed with the Crazy 8.  They have that bulky, heavy duty black and white look that made me think new age Fab Five gear.

Guest Announcer

I know the WWE isn't real, but wouldn't it be great to have Jim Ross guest announce one U-M game against an undermatched, beaten down opponent?

This call would have been appropriate after Courtney Avery took that last fumble to the house against Minnesota last year:

Totally agree.

I'm working abroad now and the academic recognition is very satisfying - although few things warm my heart like seeing a Block M t-shirt randomly across the ocean.

Excellence is in the details

Leaving no stone unturned in the rivalry is essential.  There's a certain level of craftsmanship here that is just...mwahh, bellissima.  Bravo.

Crapping at work just got

Crapping at work just got infinitely better.  You da man elaydin.

That's Lurie Engineering

That's Lurie Engineering Center/The IOE Building, and having been an IOE, I have a good feeling that's not where F after the DT is cumming from (get it? - heh).

As for depth, I look at these rankings like recruiting rankings, very dependent not just on quality but quantity as well.

Some Chotch needs to do it

And we're up to #8 in DTF Universities.

Shocker

Offenses don't fail, people do

At what point will people start saying "Why Coach _____ failed" instead of "Why the spread at ____ University failed" ?

It's 2012, it's not like the spread is some wild new offense.  It makes just as much sense to me to have an article that says, "Why the ProStyle offense failed at OleMiss"

So if he starts pulling games

So if he starts pulling games out late, will it be called "Miller Time"?

Bad joke, I know, but imagine if a comedic genius like Hoke had delivered it after warming up the crowd a bit.

Am I the only one who reads

Am I the only one who reads this article and thinks, "Without the perfect QB, Urban Meyer's offense is rather fragile?"

Magic Comcast

Offtopic, but man I would love the magic bus scenario for any service representative these guys brought up.  Already diggin' this podcast.

Bravo

Maybe your best one yet, Six Zero, but any excuse to relive the best of the best of the best days ever...

The burrito mantra: "Queso

The burrito mantra: "Queso Queso Queso" - it's the great leveler.  Without it Chipotle will always be second tier.
