Always up for easy $$$. I'm all over this.
I can see those .00s piling up already!

It's this part that drives home the point:
"The performance part ... is ... 5-6 credits of the ... schedule."
I don't think he was advocating that they shouldn't take any classes and just play football. But, I agree it is very reasonable to give them some credits for playing football given the work put in that undoubtedly teaches them skills to be successful in many future pursuits.

Pretty sweet deal to earn $600K for an indefinite period until the new guy is hired. And, oh yeah, you're charged with hiring the new guy.
|2 weeks 3 days ago||Really?||
I doubt they'll name the new AD on the podcast.
Probably a press conference

Let's see him establish himself as a coach before we talk about bringing him here

but I doubt they would handle a plight like ours very well - would be something to behold

Yeah, the game is a no-win situation in terms of public opinion given the opponent.
However, I'm really just interested in seeing how UM looks in first game action against a patsy as is the case most years. I'm trying to ignore the fact that this patsy is THAT patsy.

1950 WC final: The official attendance of the final was about 173,000 paying spectators, but it is estimated that more than 200,000 witnessed the game live from the stands.
Was there in 2001 - it was like a double-decker Michigan stadiums with a mote between fans and field.
Apparently, now the bottom bowl was renovated (filled in?) and now capacity ~80,000.

|14 weeks 1 day ago||football is life - right?||
I've had to watch several UM-ND games from someone's reception, including another planned for this year. Though, once I sent my wife to her cousin's wedding alone while I went to UM-ND in SB (when Manningham and crew tore them a new one - so worth it - but will never live it down).
My worst example is when I had to give up tickets to Braylonfest (after tailgaiting all day with combined group of UM and MSU alum) to go to Halloween trick-or-treating for the kids after f-ing religous zealots that ran the neighborhood moved trick-or-treating from Sun 10/31 to Sat 10/30.

Notice he is not getting much love in these recent interviews
Unless I've missed it
At NT, is Henry the 1 and Pipkins the 2?
|14 weeks 3 days ago||more space?||
while having extra tight ends does take extra receivers off the field,
you have more blockers, more space for Funchess to work and fewer reads for QB too
|14 weeks 4 days ago||Hard to tell yet||
We sent 2 lineman to the NFL last year from our worst line ever. It might be a little early to say we don't have 1 good lineman. The weakest link is a problem for most teams at some point it's just worse when it's along the line.
|14 weeks 4 days ago||advantages||
better weather than spring game, full roster and maybe fans are more lathered up with football on the horizon

Thank you - 38 comments in.
Woodson's punt return was single most ecstatic moment in Big House for me.
Braylonfest and 4th quarter in UTL1 among others were zany as well to be sure
|34 weeks 3 days ago||injury thing||
Where is Mitch more likely to get injured? Banging with college kids for ~35 games over ~5 months or with NBA guys for ~85 games over ~8 months.
If he gets drafted in the 2nd round and gets injured next year, then he may be SOL without seeing pro $$$.
If he comes back, I think he's more likely to get healthy, and he's very likely to be dominant and move up to a high draft pick where he'll get guaranteed pro $$$.
His situation is different than say a healthy junior in football who's going to be drafted high contemplating a return for his senior year and worrying about injury.
|34 weeks 3 days ago||lot of variables||
If Mitch leaves after ~1 month of high quality college basketball because he's worried about his 3rd NBA contract, then he's following some bad advice.
|34 weeks 4 days ago||misquoting Bo||
he misquoted Bo by not finishing with "the team, the team, the team!"
|38 weeks 1 day ago||Disaster||
This team cannot afford to lose 3 major contributors and expect to be any good the next year.
