The only part of the…

The only part of the schedule we control is out-of-conference. We scheduled nothing but cupcakes last season for OOC - hence "easy", compared to scheduling the likes of Texas this year, which definitely will not make our OOC "easy".

No one wants to lose The…

No one wants to lose The Game, but with the amount of talent that we just lost to NFL (record setting!!!) and the amount of talent that OSU just retained/gained, no one should be surprised if we lose The Game this year.

Yes, the season ticket…

Yes, the season ticket holder would enjoy better quality games, but that would be offset by the fact that we have a better chance at playoffs and watching the playoff game of much better quality (more on the line) at the end of the season or even win a NC, at which point we do not care who we played early in the season. So, I would say it kinda evens it out.

That is my whole point. The…

That is my whole point. The only part of the schedule that we control is the out of conference games. The schedule is tough enough. There is no reason to schedule someone like Texas in the future.

Why? I think there is a very…

Why? I think there is a very good chance that we lose 3 games next year. We just won NC, I have no problems with us stepping back from that level for the next few years.

I agree that beating OSU is…

I agree that beating OSU is important. Which is why we should have the easiest out-of-conference schedule possible based on what we saw last year.

I don't get your argument…

I don't get your argument. What does playing Texas in out-of-conference schedule have anything to do with beating OSU or winning the BigTen?

My argument is that having the easier schedule makes it easier to beat OSU and thus winning the BigTen.

Yes, having a great out of conference game is great for college football, but it does not help us win against OSU or BigTen.

That argues for easier…

That argues for easier schedule. The only part that we control is the out of conference opponents. The conference is tough enough, there is no need for us to schedule someone like Texas.

All it has to be is be cheaper than YoutubeTV and I am in. I do not watch anything other than sports on it.

How does one say

How does one say

"just popular enough to outgrow campus sites, but not quite popular enough to ensure four packed Regionals"

in the same argument with this statement?

"Who's to say that you'll get universal high attendance at NCAA games on campus?"

I was talking to another couple at a bar afterwards and they said they missed the entire game due to a cancelled flight (they arrived right after the game was over). I felt terrible for them...

Thank goodness I did not fly Alaska for my trip (that is my default airline) as they had to ground their entire fleet of Boeing Max 9's (15% of their fleet). I could have easily been in the same boat as the couple above.

Left Austin yesterday and my connecting flight home in Atlanta got cancelled so ended up spending a night in Atlanta and flying home as I type this. Still wouldn't change a thing.

I agree about 65/35. I am seated in the Huskies section and there are a lot of Michigan fans here.

Good showing by Washington…

Good showing by Washington fans. Crowd is more even than I was expecting. Just watching Walker Hays at the tailgate stage. His crowd reactions would be much better if this was a Texas, Bama game.

Have 2 tix Section 519 Loge, Row B. $2200 for both. This is barely above face and I am selling at loss here. You can text me (206) two two seven one one two one. (sorry had error on my phone number).

Got a room at Wyndham hotel within walking distance to the stadium. It's a good thing I did since it looks like I am just going to hang out at the hotel till the game time if it is going to be raining.

I may have to sell 2 tix. Section 519, Row B, $1100 each. This is lower than what I paid. Email me at richchoi at hotmail

Ended up pulling the trigger for just under $1400 (including fees) for a pair of tickets in Loge section 519, row B. I am pretty happy with that price considering...

My only criteria for hotel was be within walking distance and I got a room at Wyndham at NRG for $399/night.

Thank god Texas lost. I…

Thank god Texas lost. I figured the prices would drop significantly if they did and it is happening right now. Just not sure how much longer I should wait.

I am also going to prioritize lower rows over sections. In my previous Final Four experiences, I had much better time watching the game when I didn't have to look over rows and rows of people.

The funny thing is, if they…

The funny thing is, if they played this EXACT same defensive scheme last year (1 safety high) instead of zero on every other down, the score last year probably would have been similar to this year. We were like 3 or 4 tackles away from replicating the last year's score this year, except that they had some one to clean up mistakes this year and they were able to hold us to field goals instead of touchdowns we scored last year.

If you cannot recognize that, can you really call yourself a football analyst?

Not sure where you would get…

Not sure where you would get 0% interest these days...

Looking to replace 2 cars…

Looking to replace 2 cars which are over 10 years old right now.

I always buy cash. Never borrow money to buy something that depreciates.

This is not that hard. Buy a 3 year old car and keep it for 10 years. Use the first 5 years to pay for the loan and use the following 5 years to save the payments you would have made. And you will never have to borrow money to buy a car.

I had been using YouTube.tv,…

I had been using YouTube.tv, but once west coast teams are added and B1G Channel is part of the basic cable, I am going back to XFinity cable. At this point the price is equivalent, and I prefer the control/quality I have with cable.

Is this from a guy who was…

Is this from a guy who was famous for always avoiding making a tackle?

Will probably never buy…

Will probably never buy another ICE car as we love our i3 and the convenience and ease of owning an all electric car.

Was about to replace wife's SUV with Cadillac Lyriq, but she hated the bubble butt so looking at other options. But I loved that car. Super luxurious interior and smoothest drive train I ever tried. Really impressive.

Bellevue is definitely a…

Bellevue is definitely a suburb of Seattle. Almost like Newark to NYC. It is also home to many tech billionaires including Bill Gates.

Everything about the football team is modeled after UM including the helmet and even the fight song.

Even with healthcare, I…

Even with healthcare, I cannot just walk into some random office and get care at reasonable cost as my insurance may not cover that doctor.

Not sure what clinic you are talking about but I have NEVER ever seen a doctor for a non-emergency case in less than after several hours of waiting. Hell I have t usually wait about an hour for a doctor even for a scheduled visit.

Even filling a prescription takes hours of waiting. I have never experienced a pharmacy where I handed the prescription and walked out with the medicine in 5 min.

Not without insurance.

Not without insurance.

Try to do that with no…

Try to do that with no insurance.

Even with the insurance, I cannot see my doctor unless it is scheduled weeks out.

I visited Seoul just before…

I visited Seoul just before the pandemic with a group of 17 people (friends and their family). Unfortunately my friend's daughter got sick and needed medical attention. We were in a Hongdae area hotel and the concierge suggested a doctor's office next door. I went with them so that I can translate for them. Got to the office, filled out a form and got to see the doctor within an hour.

Went we went in the office, he had his Yale degree hung on the wall. He spoke perfect English and I was not even needed. After the examination he prescribed some medicine and we picked them up downstairs with no wait.

The best part? The whole thing cost $35 including medicine.

This was without any insurance. Anyone think any of the above is possible in US?

This is such a dumb question…

This is such a dumb question. There is ONE player drafted in the entire first round that went to the Final Four. Having NBA players does not mean that you are going to dominate in NCAA.

If you are in LA, you should…

If you are in LA, you should definitely play Rustic Canyon.

Pebble is worth a play for any golfer with any interest in architecture. And there are strategies to play for less money. I would not bother with any other courses there as they are all extremely over priced.

Pasa is a lot of fun and other than Pebble, that would be my choice in the area.

Looks like you've got THE…

Looks like you've got THE bug. If you are looking for places to play around the country (even around the world), you really should visit golfclubatlas.com where a bunch of golf course architecture nuts hang out (even Gil Hanse). You will get much more interesting options there than a typical magazine 100 lists.

And if you enjoy Hanse's work I would highly recommend seeking out Tom Doak courses as well. You won't be disappointed.

If you ever get out to PNW, shoot me a DM.

Make cross cuts on the skin…

Make cross cuts on the skin and put your favorite rub on it. Smoke it skin side up at your favorite temperature until it reaches 190 to 195 degrees. Put it in the broiler skin-side up and cook it till the skin gets nice and cracklin' (10 to 15 min). But you need to keep your eye on it as it can burn quickly. It should be around 200 to 205 degrees at this point.

You don't want it to get much higher than this as they start falling apart. Around 195 to 200 degrees they hold together while melts in your mouth.

Seriously, if you love fat, it does not get any better than this.

Pork belly is THE BEST cut…

Pork belly is THE BEST cut for smoking. It is fatty and unctuous and almost impossible to screw up. Smoke it till it reaches 190 degrees and then finish it in a broiler to get the skin nice and crisp.

If you have not tried it, you are really missing something.

I would say this thread has…

I would say this thread has been pretty civilized with view points from multiple angles without ending up just becoming a shouting match.

This is a terrible situation with crappy outcome that no one is happy with. It is okay to have a discussion on that, especially if we can avoid victim-blaming.

Agreed. This is just people…

Agreed. This is just people looking to save some money on taxes. Sure, it may attract a few more "big whales" to contribute, but I doubt that those people needed more help on tax write-offs.

Proving my point that…

Proving my point that banning guns would do absolutely nothing to our economy unlike knives and cars that NRA always points out.

What you are pointing out are entertainment. We are allowing this to happen just so that some of us get a kick out shooting up stuff.

I love my Xbox, but I would be first one to call to ban it if it was blowing up randomly killing thousands of people every year. And trust me, I use it far more than you hunting or target shooting.

Except that if you ban…

Except that if you ban knives, hammers, etc... the world economy would come to a stop. If you ban guns, the world would hardly even notice. Guns only do one thing, kill people. It has no other use and almost every industrialized countries live without it in their daily lives.

This kind of thing keeps happening because we allow it to happen. We have no one to blame but ourselves.

Then why do we outlaw murder…

Then why do we outlaw murder when it is not going to stop Criminals/Bad People???

I wonder what many of those…

I wonder what many of those fanboys who were calling for JJ to start over Cade all throughout last year and beginning of this year would be saying if Cade was still healthy...

Look I am a flaming liberal and I didn't quite understood the tweet the first time scanning it. Superjay has it below...

It doesn't have to be that…

It doesn't have to be that kind of "glitch". He could have just mis-understood the original Tweet before retweeting it.  I didn't quite understand the tweet when I quickly scanned it the first time. I had to re-read it a couple of times. He could have just had "glitch" in understanding it before the retweet.

This is pretty good, but…

This is pretty good, but would be better if we were to compare Original Average Class Ranking to Reranked Average Class Ranking.

My guess that if that was available, Michigan would show to biggest improvement out of all of these teams (at least in top 10). It definitely shows that the ability for this coaching staff to identify and develop talent is no fluke.
