If you read about the last time Jim switched jobs, you would know that he had multiple agents working deals; one for NFL and one for college.
This could be exactly the same deal where he has used one agent for sealing the deal with Michigan while his NFL agent is still looking for NFL deals. I am sure that NFL agent wants an NFL deal very badly and is probably the one spreading all the "Harbaugh is staying in NFL" rumors.
I don't think Jim's position has changed one bit.

Let's make one thing clear.
Jameis has not been found innocent. He has not been charged because there is lack of evidence. There is lack of evidence because the police failed to do even the most basic investigation until a year passed after the incident.
Just because someone cannot be charged does not mean that that person is innocent.

Whether or not he is trustworthy, his point is correct. If UM wanted to keep the offer confidential, but the agent leaked it, it is a bad sign for us.
I am hoping it is Michigan side that leaked it.

There was a report yesterday that Michigan reached out to Jay Gruden. Which is just ridiculous. Unless you know where the info came from, you are probably safe in assuming that it came from a hopeful agent.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||He was offered by Texas.||
He was offered by Texas. There are quotes about how Texas boosters promised to fly around his parents to every game. He said in interviews that he turned down the job.
I have been following him for over a decade because he is a frequent guest at local Seattle sports stations. From everything I know and heard from him, the chance of him coming to Michigan is ZERO.
I am sure his agent is doing his job and floating his name. That is what Sam Webb is referring to. But he is not coming.

I still don't understand how people think Jim Mora Jr will come here when he turned down Texas two years ago and UW (his alma mater) last year.
Why don't we just pine for Saban and Gruden while we are at it???
|2 weeks 6 days ago||We KNOW Harbaugh is||
We KNOW Harbaugh is interested. We know this because if Harbaugh was not interested, we would have made offers to other top candidates already.
As long as we do not hear anything about other coaches being offered, Harbaugh is interested. Period.
As soon as Harbaugh turns us down, you will know because a serious offer will be made to another candidate and the news will leak (most likely by the targeted coach's current adminstration). No such news has been leaked, which means Michigan is still on Harbaugh's trail.
All these Harbaugh No/Yes rumors are useless. Harbaugh is interested, that is the only scenario where all these actions fit. You will know very shortly after Harbaugh makes a decision.
Which is why the longer this continues, it is better for Michigan since that means more and more likely that Harbaugh is going to say yes, because saying no takes no time.

Miners are not going to announce anything when they in playoff contention even if they are planning to get rid of him. Either way, this is going to drag out till the end of regular season.

Thankfully the chances of Niners making the playoffs is pretty remote.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Just look at it from the game||
Just look at it from the game theory point of view.
Regarding Harbaugh, things need to wait out until the regular season is over. Every other major job has been filled already. The longer this drags out, the chance of landing Harbaugh gets better.
Names being floated in media. If you are an agent worth anything, you HAVE to float your guy's name in the media as a possible candidate. Even if he has no intention of taking the job since it is a future negotiation lever. If you are hearing names that someone like Cowherd (via agents)is trumpeting, that pretty much means that person has no chance for this job and has not been contacted, since...
If you have been contacted and is interested, you are going to keep quiet. Your agent is going to keep quiet. You don't want to jeopardize the deal by flapping your mouth. That is why we probably have not heard a pip about/from Mullen and a couple of other very viable candidates.
Just keep praying that this process drags on if you are pining for Harbaugh. As soon as he says no, I suspect we will sign to a plan B/C within days or even hours.

|3 weeks 2 days ago||Look, I heard the interview||
Look, I heard the interview that Jim Mora Jr gave on the local Sports Radio (Seattle). It was after he turned down the offer from University of Washington and he went to great details on why turned down both Texas and UW - due to his family - he does not want to move.
If he won't take the money (Texas) and won't come back to his roots (UW, for which he got fired from Atlanta Falcons after saying that he would coach there in a sec if offered), why the hell would he come to Michigan?
Can we have some semblance to reality on these threads?

He confirmed that Texas offered the job and he turned it down in an interview. No way he is coming here.

Even better, these guys pay less in taxes (in percentage) than you and I do (SIGNIFICANTLY LESS) because of carried interest rule. At least with ball players, taxpayers get some of the money back.

Pro sports contract is pittance and completely sane compared to what money managers get on Wall Street. There are several who made over a BILLION dollars in a single year. This even after study after study have proven that active money management never do better over the long term than index funds.
At least ball players have to be proven good to get such money. These people on Wall Street get billions for just being lucky.

This is dumb. If that was her reasoning, this would make it the most disappointing or most underachieving team, not the worst.
This team would run circles around that 3-9 team. I know there is a lot of hyperbole around this program right now, but please.

How the hell in the world can you argue that the opinion of supporting the school president taking his time in selecting a new AD wrong?
Just because other people disagree does not mean they are wrong. The world does not revolve around you.
Schilssel is going to do whatever he feels is the right decision, and nothing you, nor what anyone on this blog says about it is going to change his mind. And that is the way it should be.

As an alum, I am very happy with Schlissel's approach so far. If he believes that having Hoke around for another year is in the best interest of the university in the long run, I am fine with it.

|6 weeks 6 days ago||The thing that I see with||
The thing that I see with Gardner is that he does not trust anyone. Not his line, not his receivers. I don't know when is the last time I saw Gardner throw a pass before the cut is made. He will ONLY throw it when the receiver has made the cut and is on a straight trajectory.
This is KILLING us since we cannot do any hitch and go to punish over plays and receivers cannot get any separation since most of the separation happens right after the cut.
Gardner is broken beyond recognition. This is really sad to watch.
|8 weeks 3 days ago||Exactly. There is absolutely||
Exactly. There is absolutely no downside to replacing an AD right now. The fact that they haven't done so should tell you everything you need to know.
All theses "gates" are minor distractions that don't amount to squat. DB will be replaced, if it is determined that a newAD is required to turn the football program around. Nothing else matters.

There is nothing objective about a method if you modify the method to better reflect your feelingball after the results are tabulated.
You might as well just list your feelingball list to begin with.
