Please. Those numbers would not be out of place for FT% for teams. These numbers will regress towards the mean. It may take awhile though...

Getting a degree and playing on the football team is not on the same level. There are many instances where a player may get kicked off the team but stays on campus as a student.

The only way this could avoid PR nightmare is if they were somehow able to get approval from the girl whose picture was taken. Anything short of that, I don't think would fly with the student body and many faculty members.

Based on how many folks around here are calling for Beilein to be fired right now, I would say this is likely in this scenario.
|1 week 6 days ago||This works for debate||
This works for debate tournaments because all the competitors are there in one place and logistics required for last minute pairings are minimal. This is not the case for NCAA conferences that span multiple states over a thousand miles and millions of fans who buy tickets.

Why would a public civil institution use a criminal standard for adjusting a dispute? If that is the case, there would be no reason to have things like Honor Code. University is not sending anyone to jail.

Here is a quote from Maryland board:
Harbaugh had no mercy. He swept the leg.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||We definitely have some||
We definitely have some issues with open field tackling. Ohio will have a field day if we have the same issue at The Game.
|10 weeks 5 days ago||Funny thing is, Baylor fans||
Funny thing is, Baylor fans think they are still better than PSU while acting perhaps worse than PSU. Talk about deplorables...
|11 weeks 3 days ago||Seriously, with this coaching||
Seriously, with this coaching staff, the best chance for us to beat Alabama is with extra time for game planning. I would much rather face them in the semi.

Don't care. It would be one thing if home field was on the line. WITHOUT that the ranking within top 4 really means nothing.

Agreed. Better than mine.

I would agree with you if he answered them in the general sentiment of the UM fanbase but did it in a respectful way. Saying things like Peppers is not Heisman worthy or that we all believe Jim is going back to NFL is WAAAY off-base, hence my reservations on his loyalty.

Ooops, My Bad. It is hard to distinguish numerous Florida trashing... Corrected!
|12 weeks 3 days ago||I watched the entire game||
I watched the entire game again just concentrating on watching Braden and Bredeson and I was really impressed. The combo blocks were as good as I have seen in awhile. Braden's pass pro was outstanding. The single sack he gave up was after the DE was trying move after move on an island.
Brede son really looked good on pulls, nice and shallow and quick, with lots of violence at contact. This may turn out to be a blessing in the long run.

This is a welcome news for us. Hopefully this means that Hornibrook will perform better against Ohio this week.

That is a black eye on this program, and to me, the worst legacy of the Hoke years.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||Like any civil case, more||
Like any civil case, more likely than not.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||You should read more about||
You should read more about the other incident with the broken jaw. The students are pretty upset that the arrest took two months and players played right up to the arrest.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||No one is saying kick the guy||
No one is saying kick the guy off the team before he is found guilty. But most coaches would suspend the guy while investigation is happening. Leach is saying he would play thre guy until he is jailed. That is not right especially when it looks like he is recruiting pretty violent individuals to the campus.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||Reasonable doubt is the||
Reasonable doubt is the standard for locking up someone. It should not be the standard for suspending someone.

Except that Leach thinks he should still play while he is arrested.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||This is not anisolated||
This is not anisolated incident. there are half dozen others involved with assault just this year.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||This is not anisolated||
This is not ani solated incident. There are other players who started a brawl at a campus party and beat up another student so bad that he had his jaws wired shut and was hopitalized for weeks. This is part of the pattern that Leach is enabling.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||Most sane coaches would||
Most sane coaches would suspend the player while investigation is going on. That is what Michigan does.
|14 weeks 3 days ago||So, you are perfectly fine||
So, you are perfectly fine with Paterno letting Sandusky coach since Sandusky was never arrested during his tenure? How about Baylor where many of his players were free to prey on students until they were arrested?
"innocent until proven guilty" is a legal concept designed to prevent government abuse. It should not be the standard doing what is right for the university.
|15 weeks 1 day ago||Limiting contacts with||
Limiting contacts with recruit is done for the sake of the students, who would otherwise be bombarded 24/7. They are not limiting what coaches cand do to make money.
That does not apply for satellite camps where the students are voluntarily signing up (and paying for them). You are equating two completely different things. NCAA lawyers saw that as well, which is why they backed off in the first place.
|15 weeks 1 day ago||Why is "flimsy" commitment||
Why is "flimsy" commitment bad? They are friggin' kids. They can change their minds, and they certainly should be allowed to when schools can fire and hire coaches whenever they want.
|15 weeks 1 day ago||Not quite... Sports leagues||
Sports leagues can dictate quite a bit on what players can do because of collective bargaining (for pros) or enforcement of amateurism (for NCAA players). There is no collective bargaining between coaches and NCAA (and they are certainly not amateurs), and because of this they can only limit things that are directly related to competition (like practice times and scholarships).
However, they do not have such powers over coaches' employments. They cannot dictate how much they can work, they cannot dictate how much money they can make, etc. This is why limiting satellite camps to 10 days would probably not survive court challenges.

Mr Heisman, Jackson is also eating a ton of sacks (with similar pressure that Wisconsin brought today) and he is FAR more mobile than Speight. Anyone expecting no sacks under that kind of pressure has no real understanding of football.
