Double tremendous screw-up to Double tremendous screw-up to not have taken a WMU walk-on who hasn’t cracked their lineup yet? We’ll see, I guess.

thoughts & prayers for you thoughts & prayers for you during this courageous fight, brother! The hero we need, not the hero we deserve.
also- I do totally recognize

also- I do totally recognize the legitimacy of people saying "meh- maybe not here?" That's totally fair. This was purely to those who responded with a surprising level of vitriol to a fellow fan making an opinion known. Just had to defend 'em a bit! Hope everyone has a faaaaantastic day.

Wow- it is INCREDIBLE to see

Wow- it is INCREDIBLE to see people get so triggered by a simple thought expressed by 2 people on this site. The OP, and julesh verifying veracity. If you don't agree, that's fine, then move on. Or make your own thread! Do anything else. You're more than welcome to complain, but it seems so counter-productive. We've got a bunch of dudes on here that are waaaaay too insecure with themselves.

Is there misogyny intertwined into our culture? Especially the college football sub-culture? ABSOLUTELY! This is not a controversial comment! So don't act all offended, damn- it was straight up embarrassing to read through this thread. People trashing fellow fans over caring too much about people?? Seriously? Just acknowledge a decent point from OP that this stuff is present all over collegiate athletics and move on. Or comment in response and have a legit debate, don't attack their character and act like they're less of a man.

Whoever dropped the "I'm embarrassed to have you as a fellow alum..." maybe you should check out the SEC?  What an absurd comment to make after someone just suggested there is inequality present in the world.

end rant. go blue, baby!

Dude... get real. Been

Dude... get real. Been reading this site for years, if you are going to act like we don't consistently act beneath the standards of "Michigan Men"-type expectations, you're nuts. Are most of us essentially innocent? Maybe, but I'd venture to guess all of us have let ourselves slip a bit on this site, as it's easy to do behind a computer screen. From words we toss around (including myself), to blatant shows of who is more macho (nearly every thread), it shouldn't a surprise that a female compatriot is pointing out misogyny on the site. It is what it is. Don't be offended (everyone else commenting), just keep an eye out on it and maybe do your part to make it a bit kinder around here. We don't need to use slut and whore and pussy if we're being real with ourselves. We are better than that. There are lots of words to use. I will be better.

they're just temporarily

they're just temporarily wearing those old throwbacks until practice jerseys come in, per the freep (sipple)

What a statement. Wiseman What a statement. Wiseman coached in D1 and the American Hockey league before coming back to Michigan to a job that he deserved as much as any other candidate. He sure as hell is not the main reason for what's happening. Also you're dramatic and sound spoiled when you complain about past seasons, but I digress..
Honestly, do you watch soccer Honestly, do you watch soccer often? Even just as a casual fan, I know that a goalie's chances are far below "50/50."

Not true. The clothing itself

Not true. The clothing itself is not usually taken back. Obviously protective equipment is one thing, but that sort of makes sense in that they are the program's pads right? Jerseys may also be handled separately but the majority of this stuff is 100% kept by them.

That stuff being sold at garage sales is mostly extra apparel, with a few instances of used gear included.

Just a small correction, on

Just a small correction, on RPI's 2nd goal it was De Jong that got tripped/fell over not Warren. 11/21 is tough to distinguish but RPI's free feed was much appreciated! Great work here!

I disagree!

I disagree!

I believe I've heard it

I believe I've heard it pronounced as Lees-man, unfortunately for rhyming's sake. Congrats to the two of them! Great accomplishment.

Warren is #11. Warren is #11.
All about the UP, especially All about the UP, especially in the fall when the drive alone is worth the trip. Leaves will be gorgeous. Check out Marquette or maybe road trip (Munising, Marquette, Tahquamenon, Oswald's, etc.). Mackinac Island is also a beautiful choice. Sort of isolated, it's a lot of fun.
This is definitely one of This is definitely one of those stories that we as a fan base shouldn't joke around about. There is a very good chance this is happening many other places including potentially U of M. My point is just that you never know what athletes are doing and it is silly to approach this as a "Sparty, No!" when it could easily have occurred here.
Oakland. At least that's what

Oakland. At least that's what I hear.

In Fargo? Best of luck to

In Fargo? Best of luck to you.

Please don't ever mention Guy

Please don't ever mention Guy Gadowsky on here again. He isn't from the same universe as Red. Take a peek at his career record. Also the guy coaches thugs man we don't want him at Michigan. It will work out much better than Guy Gadowsky regardless.

I respect your opinion I respect your opinion because you seem to actually understand some of the X's and O's, but I promise you (as much as one can "promise" on an anonymous board) that this is not the talk you'd be hearing if you were connected to anyone in the know. Mel is a good coach--but he is not why Michigan hockey has been Michigan hockey for so long, that's Red. Red can still coach, let's see what happens the rest of the year.
You know nothing about his

You know nothing about his reasoning so maybe give him the benefit of the doubt? Would venture to guess he probably knows more than you on the subject! (Also, how'd it turn out...?)

but you can't deny that the

but you can't deny that the players love the outdoor game as well.

Not Mike Eaves' fault unless

Not Mike Eaves' fault unless you're criticizing him for poor recruiting. They lost an immense amount of talent from last year's team, this fall is not surprising. That's what happens when you lose nearly all of your talent.

Even Canadians know the

Even Canadians know the "there, their, and they're" trifecta. C'mon brother!

Okay I have a few qualms with

Okay I have a few qualms with this. First of all, are we really going to start holding shit against people that hasn't even been proven? A lot of people have been accused of horrific things but that doesn't mean they did them. Regardless, I had to crack up at your quote, "who shouted sexist obscenities to other students." Ummmm lighten up Francis. Seriously? It's a joke of a phrase that went viral online, and he repeated the phrase which is shown in hundreds of youtube videos and has been yelled across college campuses everywhere. I won't even get into the fact that you're unfairly judging this kid for allegedly taking cash for signing his own damn name, but finally you're going to crucify a kid for getting into a BB gun fight and stealing some crab legs? Obviously these are stupid, stupid things but nothing out of the ordinary for an idiotic college kid. I think they can scratch together $4200 out of millions they've made directly due to Jameis Winston.

Exactly. It's just

Exactly. It's just "different" when you're a part of it all.

pick me! ;)

pick me! ;)

I hear you, but at the end of

I hear you, but at the end of the day I just tend to agree with Cleary. A fan's opinion really is irrelevant in my (irrelevant) opinion, and if you find that disrespectful that's fine I hope you find some good endeavours to spend time and money on, but I'd hope you ride this storm out with us.

I definitely understand that

I definitely understand that point and have a lot more respect for the way you put it than most on here. These are just tough times, going to be a lot sweeter when we're back and you know that you've been through the lows with the team.

This kid will represent the

This kid will represent the university passionately forever. We lose 1 game and half the people on here are contemplating jumping ship. We have a large chunk of fans who are just simply fairweather. But that might be beside the point, I don't know that dude but I'd say that being on the football team and being a part of the AD and wearing the wings every day gives you a certain perspective on things that people bitching on a website just won't understand. He's a part of a Michigan family that is broken right now and it's just sad to say that. These are dark times, no need to make them darker by jumping all over the only people who could truly turn us around.

Dark, indeed. Just sad

Dark, indeed. Just sad really, we'll be back :)

This is out of line. Cleary

This is out of line. Cleary works as hard as everybody else on the team and has certainly done more for the University than you have. Don't stoop to that level and start being a dick.

So many people playing the

So many people playing the victim, get over it! He's pretty damn close to being right! I am a fan of Michigan. I have opinions on the state of our Athletic Department. My opinions are truly irrelevant. Thankfully I trust that everything will be sorted out eventually, this is Michigan damnit.

It's funny to say that you want them to keep silent yet we fans won't shut the hell up about everything. At this point, fans are dragging this out and it's absolutely a black eye for all of us (Brandon/Hoke's fault or not). These athletes (all of them not just football) love this university as much or more than all of us and they bleed for the university. You're telling me they can't speak up about it? Bullshit! You speak up when you're pissed about the university and demand change, then he should be able to speak up when he's frustrated with the circus.

In regards to the players

In regards to the players tweeting, I know for a fact that this was 0% forced by Dave Brandon or anyone in the AD. The players simply like the guy as he's done a lot of good things here too..just wanted to chip in that that was genuine.

Quit being such a hardo. It's Quit being such a hardo. It's not like he/she's going to tell their advisor to shove it because they heard differently on MGoBlog. I was the same way going in, and it's a good thing to gather as many opinions as possible on something like choosing classes which is so different for every person. That's why the rate my professors Site is so awesome, you're able to get a general grasp for how most people feel about them. Congratulations! Have a great time at Orientation, and see you around Ann Arbor next year!
It's pretty crazy seeing

It's pretty crazy seeing yours and other comments insinuating how easy it is for "most" kids to buy tickets. Being at this school alone is an insanely large debt for most kids I know, let alone gathering up $300 to buy tickets. Before this year I found it absolutely necessary to ask my parents if they could spend money on these tickets. This year, it simply fell down the list. I need rent/books/food/other things every week of the year, so I didn't feel like adding on 300 bucks when I'm going to be able to buy them so much cheaper on the day of the game from drunk kids. So if all of you would like to donate to buying student tickets that'd be pretty cool, but otherwise we're going to find other ways to get there.

I think you're missing a huge

I think you're missing a huge point here. Many students aren't buying the tickets because of absurd pricing, a brutal schedule, and the fact that it's been so damn easy to buy tickets off of other students lately. Like $5 before the game (if that) easy. I love watching Michigan football as well, but I'd rather pay a more reasonable price to go watch us battle, especially against an Akron-type opponent.

Well put here, Brian. Next

Well put here, Brian. Next year will be better.

Not so fast, my friend.

Not so fast, my friend. You're an idiot (nothing personal) if you believe that this job is Mel Pearson's to lose. No way Mel is the ideal guy right now. He's a decent coach who can't break .500 (14-19 this year) at Michigan Tech in the 2nd worst league in hockey, what is he going to do against Minnesota, Wisconsin, and the 3 (improving) State teams?

not sure who you're talking

not sure who you're talking too, but every student I know here that is pretty interested in football wishes we'd calm down on this stuff and stay closer to tradition than the uniformz craze...

There's a very good chance

There's a very good chance you're severely overreacting. If you've ever encountered the parking people around the Yost Grey lot area, you know that they take their jobs crazy seriously. Like no matter what you say they delay you, I'm sure there was some sort of protocol the people were given, and they followed it..the situation was resolved no need to freak out about it.

Don't act like you have some Don't act like you have some inside info, because if you do you're clearly talking to the wrong people. You aren't an insider Bando so don't come on here and spout false info as if it were on behalf of Mich hockey
Let me take a wild

Let me take a wild guess...Clare? You only mention it ~8 times a game.

Jon* Good to hear! Hope he

Jon* Good to hear! Hope he and Trouba (and all the other Wolverines) continue to have solid hockey careers for years to come.

Hildebrand is a very good

Hildebrand is a very good goalie. I think sometimes he doesn't get enough credit...he steals games/keeps them in games ALL the time. Ineptitude absolutely but take it with a serious grain of salt I'm a fan of his...obviously will take Nagelvoort without hesitation!

I'd assume that those three

I'd assume that those three would take up the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th line center spots. My money's on (in order) 12, 20, 10, 11.. It'll be interesting. We're missing Center's 1 and 2, so we'll have to push everyone else up
