"He makes it really easy on you as a coach because he has tremendous football instincts," Michigan tight ends coach Jay Harbaugh said. "Things come really naturally to him. He doesn't have to see things too many times. He has a good sense for how things should look and feel, and he's a tough, physical guy."

Gameday trys not to have the same teams featured at their location too much. LSU still has games against Bama and Ole Miss where Gameday could visit.
|5 hours 18 min ago||The four year thing||
without looking it up the only one I can think of that comes close to Sparty.
|5 hours 22 min ago||Part of the reason||
was the 'spread' offense that he runs was new to Division 1 football when he took over WVU. A lot of teams were taken by surprise with it. Now, tons of teams run some type of spread or incorporate spread elements into the offense. It's still tough to defend but it's not a novelty offense that you only saw once a year.

By your scoring system I see:
Stanford is +.5 (small home win over a good team)
Eastern Illinois is 0 (large win at home over a not good team)
Duke is 1.0 (small road win over a good team)
Ball St is -.5 (small home win over a not good team)
That adds up to 1.0
|2 days 2 hours ago||Kind of agree but||
part of that will depend on how a big a lead UM has and when Harbaugh decides to shut down the offense.
|2 days 5 hours ago||Give it time||
If UM beats Sparty, OSU prices will start to soar.
|2 days 22 hours ago||Vision for a running back||
It's kind of hard to teach. They either have it or they don't. That isn't to say it can't get better but it's rare for a running back to make significant improvements in this area.
|2 days 22 hours ago||Speilman||
said the same thing during the game - that college offenses have become so spread oriented that when a defense has to face an 'old school' offense like Harbaugh it's tough because they don't see it very often.

Coulda swore I saw him on the field a good amount this game, but he's no where to be found in the charting.
|2 days 23 hours ago||Leinart||
Didn't he win the Heisman??
|3 days 2 hours ago||I don't know||
if they run it up, but with it being the big ten opener we might see a focused MSU team.

Can you create a separate blog where the only discusssions/threads will be about the weather forecast for games????
|3 days 21 hours ago||I don't||
I want Sparty ranked #2 coming into AA. It'll make the victory over them even sweeter.
|3 days 21 hours ago||Bo Jackson||
said the hardest hitting team he faced was Michigan.
|4 days 41 min ago||The kicker is||
if airports are shutdown the football team could be stranded there. Unless they wanted to take a loooong bus ride home.
|4 days 2 hours ago||Head to head||
always comes first. In a two way tie, head to head will decide the winner. If it's a 3 way tie and one team beat the other two, I'm assuming the team that beat the other two wins the division.
If it's a 3 way tie where say UM beats MSU, MSU beats OSU and OSU beats UM not sure how the tiebreaker is decided.
|4 days 2 hours ago||Expectations||
If any expectations have changed, I think the floor that most people had for this team has changed. If the defense is as solid as we think most of the teams of the schedule (with the possible exception of MSU, OSU and IU) are going to have problems scoring unless they get help from special teams and UM's offense.
|4 days 2 hours ago||Lloyd/Debord||
I get what you're saying with that but UM's offense in the first half against BYU didn't look like a Lloyd/Debord offense. Second half, maybe yeah but they were sitting on a 31 pt lead and I'm guessing didn't feel like showing any more of the playbook.
|4 days 14 hours ago||Needs||
I think they are all kind of needs but considering how empty the depth chart is at LB after this year, it'd be nice to pull one or two stud linebackers before signing day.
|4 days 14 hours ago||OSU-UM||
would not be an 'official' visit and he would need to pay his way. The cost of an 'official' visit is picked up by the school.
|5 days 1 hour ago||Struggle in Big10 play||
Even if we are close to the ceiling, I'm not sure about how much struggle there will be. The defense is playing at a pretty high level and there are going to be a lot of teams in conference play who are going to struggle to score against UM - I put Maryland, Rutgers, PSU, Minny and NU in this group. In most of these games, barring turnovers and special team blunders, if the offense can score around 20 pts, it might be a comfortable W.
|5 days 22 hours ago||Yeah||
I remember in the spring/summer when people were wondering why we were only getting commits from 3 stars. A lot of the higher profile guys probably want(ed) to see what the product on the field was going to be like. If UM keeps winning, and especially in dominant fashion, this years class should fill in nicely and then look at in 2017.
|5 days 22 hours ago||To be fair||
don't you think that's the best way to defend UM's offense - make Rudock beat you with his arm?
I'd much rather make Rudock beat me by making intermediate to deep throws than sit back with deep safeties in a cover two and let UM pound the ball in the running game.
|5 days 22 hours ago||Pac-12 South||
Colorado not good. ASU not that good and based upon this past weekend I question how good Arizona is.
Utah, USC and UCLA are good.
|5 days 22 hours ago||Flying under the radar||
Ain't gonna happen. Until the late Pac-12 game blowouts, the UM performance over BYU was easily the most impressive/surprising that took place on Saturday. It was getting lots of airplay in studio segments.
|6 days 1 hour ago||2016||
It is a tougher road schedule. @ Rutgers, Iowa, MSU and OSU. They only leave the state of Michigan 3 times next year.
Non-conference schedule should be much easier - Hawaii, UCF and Colorado.
|6 days 1 hour ago||Agree||
Hoke was pulling in some really good recruiting classes. Sure you're going to have some guys that don't pan out for whatever reason, but I can't thinking 'most of these guys can't all be misses, can they?'
|6 days 1 hour ago||Maybe||
The catch is - how much is NU going to score agains the defense? NU hasn't exactly been scoring much: 16 against Stanford, 41 against Eastern Illinois, 19 against Duke and 24 against Ball St. They're not even averaging 20 pts/game against FCS schools.
As long as the offense doesn't set NU up with good field position, do you see NU even getting to double digits with points? The X factor this year will be the offense. Against most of the remaining teams on the schedule if the offense can score 20+ pts, it should be a W.
|6 days 2 hours ago||The announcers||
were even commenting on how the stadium was. The loud applause at halftime when the team headed into the tunnel was noticed on TV and by the announcers. In the second half Speilman even commented on how the vibe and atmosphere in the stadium felt different than it had the last few years. Needless to say Speilman was quite impressed with the defense and my favorite line (which he made a couple of times in the second half): 'Michigan is putting hte Big Ten on notice today'.

Auburn's gone from a preseason Top 10 to looking like they might be last in the SEC west and staying home when it comes to bowl season.
