Probably not floating a name that made it to the public daily and getting passed on publicly by multiple people. Having the losing and retention of assistants happen less above the surface and it being more prepared for on his list of "all potentialities covered." Having his rolodex of scheme appropriate assistants ready and as someone wise below mentioned, handling this all much more quietly and a little more quickly.
It's a lot to expect of a 38 year old head coach that he have the rolodex and the relationships to make this process quiet and efficient. That's where an actual proactive AD, as in, not Warde, would be throwing all the support necessary to such a young, lightly seasoned hire to make the process not look like this.
If you really want to be contrarian and anti-anti Warde, have at it, but this hasn't been smooth and it hasn't felt like the guy you picked, who distinctly is not a 50 something with a lifetime of coaching connections and instant clout, has been getting all the active support he needed to show less of our legs frantically churning below the surface.
They definitely got fired because of personality clashes.
I'm not thrilled about Wink because I don't know how he'll translate to CFB, but it seems dramatic to say all his acolytes suck - Mac and Minter were his acolytes
Dude! Thanks for the tip. I think I might buy a 2nd one with the discount at 2XL just to have a comfy one and a better fit one. Problem sort of solved!
Congrats on the weight loss and thanks for the heads up!
I went to their site and was looking at some stuff and saw they mention that their t's/sweatshirts tend to be "slimmer cuts" than what most people are used to?
Please someone talk to me about the Antigua sizing
I've been coveting the Rose Bowl 1/4 zip but hesitant because of sizing
Do they run small or true?
I got some good stuff, some cheap but fun crap, a nice hat or two - the Fanatics heather T is nice but runs small, so I'd really love to know about the Antigua sizing. The Rose Bowl zip just looks so tight, I was jealous of every single person wearing it in the airport on the way home from the Natty...
I don't know about this "head coach is responsible" stuff.
It's a hurdle, but let's be serious. It was put in place to remove plausible deniability when a head coach had created an environment of encouragement of illegal activities.
It's for head coaches without names on the checks but who definitely rewarded assistant coaches doling out paper bags and really fall under the "they couldn't possibly not have known" camp.
Unless I see different, this just isn't that. There's the letter of the law, but the NCAA is probably letting "the spirit of the rule" do some heavy lifting to nail the program in the first place. And this really seems more like "honest mistake." Someone went rogue. Is it bad? Yes. Shouldn't happen. But is it really bad? No, no it's not.
Especially because we are really looking at an area where the NCAA themselves, in something that they published, stated that they saw negligible competitive advantage from this conduct.
There are absolutely distinctions that can be drawn here and I think they are important ones.
I was there. My seats were good, but not *that* good. And from my pretty far away seat, you could CLEARLY see a massive OPI. Everyone in the stadium saw it. I have zero guilt whatsoever about the clock. It was like a two handed push, iirc. They had no business being at midfield. None.
I think they still had the win there for the taking if they kept piling on chances and avoided the big mistake, but yeah, the refs were total, complete, and unforgivable horseshit.
Honestly felt like the game plan was finally working in overtime, as we absolutely dominated most of the play. Just felt like they had to not make the big mistake and the weight of our chances would eventually break through. Instead, we made a horrific mistake.
I don't understand how you don't think the take down on Kent near the goal and the obvious use of the leg to wipe out Samo aren't penalties. They are absolutely penalties. I don't think the latter was a classic slew foot, but it's the same basic idea. Both goal scoring chances, both obvious penalties, both not called, UM received zero power plays, Denver had a bunch. That's just reality.
I've changed my mind. The dumbest thing is not the way we lost. The dumbest thing is that as we were dominating the overtime, I let myself believe we were going to win. What a fucking moron I am. It's literally unbelievable that I let myself think that.
I'm not getting over this one for awhile. We were all over them in overtime, we just needed not to do something horrific, and then two guys overskate the puck. I'm flat out broken.

I have become a fatalist with UM hockey.
How big a threat is Augustine to goalie MSU to a deep run?
That's a pretty solid point

Not happy about Wink, but that's been known.
Fwiw, I am a giants fan and he was fantastic for at least one year (shrug)
What's your beef with Wilkins?
What?
This is great…
Hell yes
This is great news but it doesn't change how unprepared he's been throughout

Does the mitten state stuff run small?

Do the Antiguas run to size?
Is the XL a true XL?
Fanatics seemed to run a little small, would love to know on these because I covet the RB one you have.
What color did you get?
They run pretty normal size wise?
Sounds like I should wait to see if they get the XLs back in stock(?)

Is it this one?

They're out of XL right now : (
Guessing I'd be swimming in the XXL
I like that - looks comfortable.
Are you sure you don't mean 1/4 zip or 1/2 zip? I can't find 3/4 zip on MDen.

Just feels like another classic example of Michigan getting screwed by an unexpected event we had absolutely no control over
Ohio State deserved to win that game, but they didn't deserve to be there, so fuck them
You could easily say that I'm not happy and yet I am still ecstatic
I'm despondent that we failed - but my 1000 yard stare is completely GONE
I'm…
You're not happy?
I'm FUCKING ECSTATIC
I'm going to go with quite a few of them
Only a miracle will keep them out of FG range
It's almost like you needed to bring creative pressure all night and you only figured it out now
Unbelievable
Stetson Bennett choking completely
Idiot Kirby choking completely
All they needed to do was run the ball there
All Stetson needed to do was not be an idiot
Because Kirk is a fucking jerk off
He's looking right at what you and I saw and not paying attention.
…
Life just is not just.
Nothing but pain and cruelty.
If we hadn't injured their f'n running back, maybe
But not if he's out
This is just absolutely killing me
And yet the system is what it is. Just makes me eternally hate the teams that choked and let this happen.
Maybe stop fucking running on 1st and 2nd down. I'm just throwing that out there.
And they really aren't calling holding in this game, apparently
We can thank Lincoln Riley for this
Fucking Lincoln Riley, I fucking hate that choking POS
I'm starting to fall apart mentally here.
If you pressure him, he's not that great. If you don't, it's over.

I call it Coach K's coaching shrub
Nope, I'm totally…
"O/T"
Nope, I'm totally not dead inside

Yeah, still nothing but excruciating pain.

But it like wasn't really a normal defensive lapse - unless did they each think the other guy had the puck?
It just seemed like such a stupid, freak play.
What's crazy is that as much as I have learned to accept it, I'm still devastated and mad at literally all the things
I'm not getting over this one for awhile. We were all over them in overtime, we just needed not to do something horrific, and then two guys overskate the puck. I'm flat out broken.
So fucking angry, what a stupid way to lose.
Good lord, dominate the whole OT and then that bullshit
Refs obviously had nothing to do with how it ended
But how on earth do you not call that a complete shit show
I don't know how you expect anything different at this point
I also just do not understand how the hell that just happened
Didn't want to like this comment, but you knew it was true
I don't know that I can do this anymore with this team
It's just always the same
I can't take it anymore
It…
It's always the same
It just always ends this way
Unbelievable
And on the stupidest play, just forgot the puck
