The nutty Michigan coverage isn't so much about Harbaugh as it is a signal to the Big Ten that Fox wants to party.

I want to believe UM will win. But, man, I just can't. The last 7 years have just been disappointment after disappointment on the big stage with the exception of a blip or two in 2011. I just don't know what to expect.

Charter a private plane to Salt Lake City, buy some tickets to the game from a scalper, then find the closest BWW. They'll have the game on.

Hmm, I hope Harbaugh choses correctly. This is probably the deciding factor in the game tomorrow.

My only problem is that the author apparently still thinks the QB situation is undecided.

Sounds like a GM that doesn't like to manage and wants everything his way. Which is what he is.

Wait, but what if my thoughts *are* better than everyone else's? Don't they deserve their own thread?

Good god, LB starts to look scary next year. Missing on Kirkland this year, and the move of Winovich (which maybe he moves back?), loom large on the next two years depth chart at LB.

Except for Utah fans who still are pointing out that UM doesn't even know it's QB yet. The Utah fanbase is acting very weird. Don't know if that's normal or because of UM.

Football coaching has a lot of high functioning lunatics. Harbaugh might be the looniest. Also might be the highest functioning as well.

|3 days 11 hours ago||So, honestly, where does||
So, honestly, where does Evan's fit in Harbaugh's offense? We're calling him a slot, but he doesn't seem to really run many downfield routes. Mostly catches screens and plays a lot of RB. I mean, electric athlete, and I have high hopes that Harbaugh will wring every bit of talent out of him. But when I look at him, I see a player that is perfect as an H-back in an Urban Meyer offense...

If you read this excerpt, it comes with a note from Bacon saying the excerpts released are about 30 pages of a 460 page book, so like 7%. There's still plenty left me thinks.

Good problems. Which QB with great upside wins the job? Man, that's a great way to ensure you have stable QB play through the years.

I'll see it. When it comes to Redbox or Netflix. Because movies are just too fucking expensive nowadays.
|3 days 17 hours ago||All very true. But the||
All very true. But the counterpoint is that UM returns basically everybody, gets a better staff and imports the third most effecient passer from last year in the B1G.
And last year, UM outgained Utah. And Utah averaged 2.2 yards per rush, and held them to a below average 6.8 yards per attempt passing. The difference was totally the special teams TD and 4 turnovers for UM. Utah will also have it's hands full with UM on Thursday as well.
|3 days 17 hours ago||Agree. Honestly, I'm not||
Agree. Honestly, I'm not sure what to expect either. But I tend to think vastly overacheiving expectations is more likely than 6-6. I guess the real question are, first, did the last staff just happen to recruit every highly rated guy that never pans out, and second, is the raw talent good, but too late in a lot of their careers to overcome some of the anti-coaching recevied over the last four years (exception is really probably in the front 7 of the D).
But man, Harbaugh is just soooo good based on his history. And time and time again, elite coaches get it done fast. Not always in the first year, true, but if you use past results based on history, UM is a place that is primed to have one of those breakout year ones. Not a daunting schedule (but no cupcakes), 2-deep loaded with upperclassmen who were highly recruiting not only with stars, but with other offers, elite staff...

It's the first tenate of sports reporting: the last thing to happen is what will always happen.
People think teams are static, and while most teams do perform pretty close to recent performances, there are rare exceptions, such as the defense in 2011, where completely incompetent coaching is replaced by good coaching and things change dramatically. I think that's what's happening here. Angelique looks at the team the last four years under Hoke and sees a team that is bad on the road (I believe because of a lack of mental toughness) playing at a team that beat UM irregardless of ridiculous personnel decisions and terrible coaching. So basically just the usual sports writing stuff.

Eh, disappointing a bit, but still a long time left to out it together. I expected him to perform well because didn't he not use a tee in high school?

|6 days 3 hours ago||Honestly, much like Norfleet,||
Honestly, much like Norfleet, I think Evans would fit better in ND's offense (provided Kelly doesn't bolt to the NFL). He's that weird HB/WR that's not fully either, and that position doesn't really exist in the Harbaugh Stanford offenses. It does is many spread systems. But I'll still take him. I have more confidence that Harbaugh will use him effectively, even if it's not even on offense.
|6 days 4 hours ago||Peters' only real mistake was||
Peters' only real mistake was not 'feeling' the pressure, which, eh. Otherwise he was almost lights out. I saw some stats tweeted out, and I watched the whole game I don't know who was keeping those stats, but I didn't think he even had that many incompletions. He was great underpressure, accurate, good arm strength, read the defense well for the most part. Performed much better than I expected against the #1 team in the state.
|6 days 5 hours ago||Yeah, he looks really really||
Yeah, he looks really really good. Release isn't that fast, but great under pressure, and pretty darn accurate. Also, you'd be stupid to run under center now a days in hog school unless you're running a flexbone triple option. Footwork is hard. Why make a high school kid learn it when you can de-emphasis it with the shotgun?
