Beat Indiana, Iowa, Illinois and Maryland. They earned this championship!

The athletes have a strong preference for Nike. Almost all of the elite athletic departments at other schools take less money to be with Nike. Why is Michigan at different? Ohio State could get just as much or more money from Adidas but do not because they know the benefits to the athletes and the programs are more important.
|4 days 9 hours ago||I would definitely||
Be willing to pay more for tickets. This has a real impact on recruiting and recruiting on winning games. What makes Ohio State, Alabama and the rest of the college football elites decide to take less money to be outfitted by Nike. The answer is it helps recruiting and perception which in turn results in winning. For anyone who doubts this, please tell me why the elite programs almost exclusively take less money to be with Nike.
|4 days 9 hours ago||This||
There is a real disconnect about how important Nike is to these young athletes.
|4 days 9 hours ago||Some context||
Our supposed peer group of the most successful college athletic programs have chosen to take less money to be with Nike. Why is that? Do you think other programs are foolish or are they making a choice to take less money because it's entirely more valuable to their goals. If it's good enough for the cream of the crop athletic programs then why not Michigan? There is more at stake here than money.
|4 days 10 hours ago||Disagree||
Michigan was fully aware that Nike would not come close to the money Adidas was offering and still opened up the issue and polled the athletes. If it was only money driven then why bother? The athletes who actually wear and use the gear are not irrelevant and in fact are the most important variable.
|4 days 12 hours ago||There is more to it||
Than uniforms are uniforms. There is a prestige or cool factor that you are vastly underestimating which can have a very real impact on perception and even recruiting. Alabama, Ohio State, Florida State, USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Clemson, LSU, Florida, Georgia, Oregon...There is a reason these schools take less money from Nike. It's worth it.
|4 days 12 hours ago||I think it's Nike||
When they polled the athletes it was overwhelmingly in favor of Nike. I just don't see how you can then basically tell your athletes who have to wear the gear that they are of secondary importance. I think it's all just trying leverage Nike for whatever extra they can. Do you want to be the best or not? If The Alabama and Ohio States of the world agree to take far less money from Nike then that provides insight in to the importance of what Nike brings.

These girls have incredible chemistry! Keep making pizza and dancing!
|6 days 11 hours ago||Seriously?||
Is that how you interpreted what I said? Never said anything about it "keeping an athlete from getting stronger." Based on your lack of reading comprehension I'm guessing you are not a Michigan graduate.
|6 days 12 hours ago||Guess what||
There might be some middle ground between what is obviously outdated and something so extravagant that waterfalls are involved.
|6 days 12 hours ago||So it's an advantage then||
We better keep this quiet or Alabama, Ohio St., Oregon etc. will find out and renovate so they can have a high school level facility also.
|6 days 12 hours ago||For all the money spent on upgrades||
We have some seriously outdated weightrooms. Fluorescent lighting, cramped area, old dirty grey carpet squares on the floor, painted walls...reminds me of my high school in the 80s.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||Why||
Would you skip multiple final exams? I just don't understand how that could happen. Disappointing.

We're highly recruited by major programs. Stauskas actually had a Kansas offer so painting him or GR3 as hidden gems is reaching. Recruiting has flatlined and its fortunate Beilein has good talent evaluation or the program would be in real trouble. Even with his excellent evaluations it's still hit and miss when you think of Vogrich, Brundage, Christian, Mclimans, LLP and Beilfelt.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||This!||
What's the point? It's a little arrogant if you consider that none of the other top programs do it. Why handicap yourself?
|3 weeks 1 day ago||It is what it is||
Beilein is not cool. Period. He's the antithesis of what many in this generation would relate to. I believe the staff needs another "cool" type A personality. I really hate to be critical of Bacari but between his lame pre-game lockerroom speeches and his tweets, I don't think he's off setting Beilein.

Wanted to play for a black coach. This is usually not mentioned but it can be a real factor.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||No||
I'm not saying it's completely true but I posted yesterday well before his decision that a respected poster on the Kentucky board claimed JB commited to Michigan and things then unraveled suddenly. This may not be true but it was out there before the commitment so it's not a case of covering their back.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||I was paraphrasing||
Not his exact words. I think he said "berating".
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Please be true!||
This is our only hope. It is possible.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||Teddy blanks||
Is he credible? Not familiar with him but he tweeted that Calipari has been all over JB and Michigan has been more passive.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||For what it's worrh||
Someone on a Kentucky board who appeared to have some credibility on said board posted that Jaylen commited to Michigan last night and then backed out which caused somewhat of a falling out. Might be completely untrue but it might make sense if true.
|3 weeks 5 days ago||I agree||
But he was never following Bacari.
|3 weeks 6 days ago||The Bacari tweet||
Is a really good sign. I'm doubtful Bacari just decided to complement Izzo and the conferences other recruiting wins.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||I'm going to guess||
With the last 20! crystal ball picks to Michigan that this is really happening.
|4 weeks 1 day ago||You have no idea||
What you're talking about. Are you Coach Beilein? If not, why be so adamant about something you are just purely speculating about (MAAR). I can understand you posting your thoughts and predictions but you have stated as if fact how many minutes MAAR will play and even how many guys Beilein will have in a rotation. Whether it is right or wrong, it's your opinion and not fact.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||The board||
Continues to under value MAAR. We shall see.
|5 weeks 1 day ago||MAAR||
Is going to get minutes. He has good length and plays solid defense along with being able to drive.
|5 weeks 3 days ago||How about||
The hanging fluorescent lighting ballasts? That looks like the lighting in K-Mart when I was a kid. Hard to believe that has not been corrected with some modern lighting. Not to mention the cheesy painted lettering on the wall. Some serious denial going on here.
