Only if our new Chinese overlords allow the game to proceed as scheduled.

That's kind of what happens when you get paid $1.7 million a year.

1) Win over OSU
2) Win over MSU
3) Win over ND
We have exactly one win over OSU in the past ten years. We desperately need to restore competitiveness to that rivalry. Beating MSU is arguably just as important since we're supposed to be the dominant party in that rivalry.
If we beat MSU and OSU, I can stomach a loss to ND because we've dominated them lately. Also, let's be honest: no one really gives a shit about beating ND.

Every time I hear/read someone referring to Ohio State as "O$U" or "Sukeyes" or "Fuckeyes", I cringe.
|7 weeks 1 day ago||Regarding his mother's||
Regarding his mother's condition, wouldn't it be better if he sat out a year? I assume that it would be easier for him to visit home more often this next year if he's on the scout team than it would be if he's on the active roster...

I think Isaac will be a great running back and I really hope he ends up at Michigan, but a blind turtle could have rushed for 87 yards against Cal's defense last year.
|7 weeks 2 days ago||Good article talking about||
I would hope that being drafted as a lottery pick doesn't mean that he can no longer be Canadian.

Good Lord, I never thought anyone could make Tressel look good. For all his two-facedness, Tressel never badmouthed Carr/Rodriguez on the recruiting trail.

And how many Big Ten championships have we won in those six years?
|11 weeks 3 days ago||I think Justice Hayes||
I think Justice Hayes committed to Michigan while Rodriguez was still coach.
|12 weeks 3 days ago||After the past two seasons,||
After the past two seasons, nothing short of wins over both OSU and MSU would satisfy me. I refuse to pick one. The only thing I can stomach is a loss to ND
|12 weeks 6 days ago||As long as John Beilein is||
As long as John Beilein is our coach, I'm not worried. This staff has an incredible track record of identifying and developing talent, squeezing every last bit of production out of its players, and ultimately exceeding expectations.
It sucks that the worst case scenario has come to pass (as departures go), but I'm excited for next year nonetheless. Caris, Walton, and Zak are poised to make huge leaps, and Donnal and Chatman have the makings of impact freshmen. I think we'll be just fine.

I tell you this: 20 years from now, Kate Upton will be known as "that girl who passed on the chance to date Spike Albrecht".

I guess with the huge number of high school basketball programs in America coupled with the relatively limited number of scholarships that D-1 programs have to offer, it's easier for prospects to fly under the radar and there are mor opportunities for coaches to find a diamond in the rough.
|13 weeks 2 days ago||Let's not get pulled toward||
Let's not get pulled toward extremes. Hoke does have a fairly impressive track record of resurrecting moribund programs. Last season's woes don't erase his earlier accomplishments. He has also demonstrated an ability to recruit elite talent and, relatedly, hire top shelf assistant coaches. But the recent mediocrity is troubling and a possible indication that he may be in over his head with respect to overseeing an elite program and getting the most out of his players.
All that can be said now is that this season is crucial. There are no more excuses.

I think we need wins against MSU and OSU. I can stomach a loss to ND. Agreed that we have to get to Indy.
|13 weeks 2 days ago||I also thought that was||
I also thought that was weird. It could mean that they won't confirm to the kid's coach that they offered him.

I think Beilein's track record on talent evaluation speaks for itself.

I'm surprised Craig Ferguson isn't mentioned more. He's my favorite of the late night crew.

I'm rooting for UConn, but because Calipari is a scumbag, not because of any threat to the Fab Five's legacy.
|15 weeks 4 days ago||And that's why it's stupid.||
And that's why it's stupid. The stereotype of the unskilled, unathletic white basketball player is so lacking in basis, it's not even funny.
|15 weeks 4 days ago||The fact that he still hasn't||
The fact that he still hasn't announced yet is a positive sign, IMHO. But I wouldn't blame him for leaving.
|15 weeks 4 days ago||This is dumb. Most teams||
This is dumb. Most teams would love to have a Nik Stauskas, Mitch McGary, or Frank Kaminsky.
|15 weeks 6 days ago||Even in that scenario, I||
Even in that scenario, I don't see Michigan getting an Alabama National Championship ring. Unless we moved the program to Tuscaloosa or something. Even then it's a longshot.
Our best bet is to look on ebay for a ring being sold by one of the players Saban cut.
|16 weeks 10 hours ago||I've hated watching||
I've hated watching Wisconsin's tournament games this year for precisely that reason. Imagine Frank Kaminsky in a maize and blue jersey. The mind reels at the possibilities. A 7-foot PF who can bounce outside and hit precision threes? Yes please.
|16 weeks 10 hours ago||Why? Did you notice that none||
Why? Did you notice that none of the kids mentioned in this thread who didn't pan out were from the Beilein era?
There was a time when we recruited kids who fell short of expectations. Now, we recruit kids who exceed expectations.

I remember back when Fisher signed the class that included Jerod Ward, Maceo Baston, Maurice Taylor, Willie Mitchell, and Travis Conlan, the Ann Arbor News ran the headline "Fab Five II". Needless to say, that class never lived up to its lofty moniker. I think Taylor is the only member of that class who actually had a significant NBA career.
In fairness to Jerod Ward, he had some horrible luck with injuries. He had major knee surgery twice while he was at Michigan, IIRC.
