and i think a lot of this comes from something that drives me crazy as a football fan. basically once a player with the ball gets beyond the linebackers, tackling is no longer involved. how many times do you see DBs shoulder block a guy catching a ball near him, 90+%? if the guys actually wrapped their arms around and tackled i think just that in itself could take away some of the helmet to face you see so much of

this needs to be kept on the front page somewhere, even if it's just the date somewhere to avoid the hundreds of threads between now and April asking if anyone knows when the game is.

a lot like i tell my daughter almost daily, don't get yourself in that position to where you can get caught up in something bad. either way it's a very unfortunate situation for all three to be in with their futures potentially changed forever. 

i'm not going to lie and say that didn't bring a little tear to the eyes. it's great hearing about how these guys who are really still kids themselves putting in the time with kids who i'd imagine just want to forget where they are and why for just a little while.

i don't know if i can go against ND. all season long i've pulled against them and hoped for them to lose, even as recently as last week when it was basically a 3-way tie at the top. BUT, now that it's this week and if ND loses it will in all likelihood be an all SEC NC game again, i'm more so pulling against that than a ND win.

i dislike brian kelly and basically the whole ND team but as a college football fan i have gained a lot of respect for Manti Te'o as a football player and as a human this season, so in a way i rationalize it that way i guess.

i'm not so certain i would "vote" for the voiding of a LOI in the event of a coaching change. you hear all the time that players should commit to the school and not the coach, even though you can't blame an 18 yr old kid for getting attached to people that schmooze him and tell him everything he wants to hear for commiting to the coach rather than the school. i think if nothing else any school that's being investigated by the NCAA and there is even a slight possibility there may be a head coaching change coming because of said investigations, it might keep some players available to other schools by knowing that if they sign the LOI and the coach that offered and promised them more than other schools gets canned they're stuck there and won't be so fast to pull the trigger

that stadium is literally less than 10 miles from my house and the field always looks that way. during the summer they use it as a race track and they have demolition derbys and all kinds of what not there that destroys the field. but you're right, you'd think they could do a little more to make the field at least playable on. 

i'll take the blame for this one too, i gave up the traditional #1 jersey for a new M hoodie. it was so soft and comforting i couldn't not wear it. the question i have about that is should i have washed it first before wearing the first time, could that have made the difference. it will definately be washed before next saturday and IF i choose to wear it again an M loses, then anyone want a free hoodie?

i'm hoping for a huge dose of toussaint this year, he absolutely kills in NCAA 11 and 12 so that means he can do it for real right? Fitz has always been one i've been very excited to see what he can do with the chance

i have played the show since 09 and like you purchased a PS3 specifically for the show. i never really got into the pitching much on the previous versions because i could never truely control where the pitches went, they would be close but consistancy is what frustrated me. the meter pitching is wonderful this year, you have much more control over up, down, left and right with the ball. as others have said, the point system is so much better also. you don't usually rack up 150 points in one game, mostly when hitting, like you could easily do in previous versions but you don't get a fail on certain challenges because of the dumbass computer baserunners, you still get points for good contact, timing and/or working the pitch count. as much as it's still the same game, the minor tweaks were a great improvment. and yes the commentating is terrible as a lot of people say but the have some funny lines every now and then.

i'll be getting on sometime later today and i'll send you guys some friend invites and go from there inviting you guys to a team.

Since we're on the sujbect of bowl practices, hopefully someone can settle a debate I am having with a co-worker. He says early enrollee players can partcipate in bowl practices but I thought I had read on here once before that they cannot practice. Does anyone have a definate answer on this?

I agree completely, two wins against non-top 25 teams doesn't mean you're the 20 best in the country. I think there are too many questions still on the defense and special teams. I think more than anything we rode the hype train into the top 25 so far, let's just hope we can keep it rolling and justify the ranking.

Ok now I don't feel like I'm a bad fan because I'm rooting against the Big Ten when I want Ohio State to lose every game they ever play for the rest of eternity. It's almost like I want the entire first and second string to get massive diarrhea every Saturday so that they cannot play and we're left with a community college equivalent Ohio State team out there.

i rented madden on release day and i have played one game on it. i play ncaa 11 a lot and switching over to madden was almost painful. you would think game controls on two different and not direct competition as far as franchise is concerned could be the same. the pre-snap controls are so different you can easily kill the play clock just ttrying to find what you're looking for. madden looks awesome but nothing about the game play really impressed me enough to put ncaa down.

on the draft import, this is only one friend of mines situation but he tried to import and players like ryan mallett and jake locker went undrafted. i don't know how often things like this have happened but it doesn't sound too promising. 

i picked up one last night for the 360 that was only short by a few teams. the michigan roster was complete and when i glanced through it everything looked ok but basically  was just checking names. it is in the locker under name CcAaRrSsOoNn3

i've slowly gotten out of the game over the past three years because it's seemed like just a re-hash with a few new sparkles but it seems like this year they have gone all out and put some real effort into making this a great game. if EA can make the jump in one year with this similar to the progress they made in NHL from '08 to '09, this will be a great game. i was sold from the demo but after hearing so many positive things about it even since playing it, i'm really looking forward to playing this next week.

there is nothing i know of west of spring hope. i am about 130 miles west of there in the greensboro area and there is nothing around here. also knowing the area between here and raleigh, there really is nothing particular in between. that being said, you shouldn't have much of a problem finding somewhere that will have the game on, but don't expect it to be on the biggest tv in the place, especially if wake forest/unc/nc state is playing at the same time.

NHL '10 is a great game to play and never seems to drop on the interest level. I don't know if this is an option for where you guys live but the blockbuster videos in NC have a package now for $20 a month you can rent as many games as you want. you can keep one for that month or switch out every 30 minutes if you wanted to.

as for NCAA/FIFA, i played FIFA for the first time a couple of night ago and it seemed ok but given the fact i don't care much for soccer, i don't see myself playing much, but it looks great and has great reviews. just going off of the NCAA demo, i feel like i'm going to be losing many hours of my life to this game and i'm ok with that. it looks great and the gameplay is really smooth.

oh there is no doubt that if i were to win even 3 million out of it that i'd be set for life, i just want to be able to keep as much as i can for myself and my daughter

as i've sat here and thought about it, if say for example, i won the $260 mil, taxes and penalties for lump sum would make it around $130 mil i would get. with official and legal paperwork the mother would probably get a good chunk, maybe a mil or so to take it and be done with it, but as i've seen time and again, here at least, single mothers can get away with basically anything and still look like the better person in most situations.

a lot of people forget , or don't realize, how important ross brawn was to schumachers success back in the day so, to me, last years run by brawn wasn't as big of a surprise to me as much as this years down year is. i understand what you're saying about sponsership money but it's not like the team is broke this year. i know the guys that cover the races know tons more than i do about the details of it all, but this team won the WC last year and i know button got a good sum of that money but to think that a racing and aerodynamic genius like ross brawn would be this far behind after 5 races is astonishing to me,

i think you're spot on by calling hamilton "entitled" because that seems to be the way he's treated. the race in china two weeks ago is a perfect example of what seems to be the rules being bent to keep lewis looking good as well as, i believe it was the race in australia, with lewis basically weaving back and forth over the whole track to block a pass. i do agree that i liked the sport much better when the cars were basically balls out and it was all about speed more than science, but i guess i've grown accustomed to what we have and enjoy it still the same.

i'm very glad to see something about F1 because it's something i've been hooked on for the past 8 years. being from the south where nascar is the only racing anyone talks about it's hard to find knowledgable fans to discuss it with. i've been a huge schumacher from day 1 and i guess he's made me stick with ferrari ever since he retired 3 years ago. as much as i dis-liked alonso from his renault days and even worse in the year with mclaren, he's probably my favoite driver these days. lewis hamilton is one i don't care for, mainly how the media and f1 seems to coddle him so much as the next great thing, so needless to say i was smiling a little bit when he crashed out with 2 laps to go this weekend. 

to your point about alonso and immature behavior, he is without a doubt one of the bigger egos in f1 but once i stopped hating him so much for beating my beloved ferrari team, i realized he really is an incredible driver and the one i'm rooting for to bring home the world championship. i'm really looking forward to monte carlo, it's always one of the most hyped races and one you feel like you have to watch even though a lot of times it is a little more boring than other races as far as overtaking and what not go.

heavy rain is a really good game. i got it on release week and played it a lot. the only downside to it, IMO, is that you can actually get so caught up in the story that you forget you're playing a game and they small small controller movements that you have to do here and there to make you realize that you're still playing a game. as much as i enjoy it i would suggest a rental when you have a decent amount of time to really try it out before buying it. the replay value to me seems the biggest downside.

and there it is, just shows how much news you miss out on when there is new hot vagina around.

the guys are right NHL '10 or hell even '09 if it's just a time killer game is absolutely AWESOME. IME MLB '09 The Show is the best PS3 specific game ever created, it's worse than fucking crack. you can easily lose 7 hours of your day, every day, on the "road to the show" function of the game.

this was mentioned today during the press conference by AD Mike Hamilton and in his words the kids that were enrolled as of midnight this morning are considered enrolled at UT and would have to go through the normal transfer process and have to sit out a year. i am looking for a link to this as well.

being in NC, about 2 hours from TN, i work with and know quite a few TN fans and they are all extremely pissed today. even 2 days ago they all loved him because in their words, "he's a dickhead". now it all amuses me how UT fans are getting screwed by that dickhead. was it a shitty move by him and his staff, sure but can you blame they guy? they do and they will continue to do so. a couple of the Vols message boards even put Lane and Layla Kiffins personal cell numbers up for all to see. I did get quite a bit of amusement out of hearing some people leave these obnoxious messages on their voice mails.
