Congrats and thank you to Congrats and thank you to your grandfather. He's in my section - section 1 - and I always give him a "Go Blue" and a handshake. Loved the article about him too.

Parking lots will open at noon, according to the athletic department.

Some Suggestions...

Some Suggestions...

 - Zingermann's for breakfast.

 - Walk around the tailgating areas between 10 AM and 2 PM to take in the atmosphere... the blue lot, the golf course, Pioneer.  maybe catch the pre-game band show on the steps of Revelli Hall.

 - Get into the Big House early to walk around the concourse.

 - Be in your seats in time to watch the band pour into the stadium through the tunnel.

 - Watch the team run onto the field and touch the banner

 - Enjoy the 300 yards rushing and 40 points we are going to put up against CMU.

The website tailgatersteadotcom has great gameday information.

Go For It Take it from someone who sits down low and takes a three year old. Your day will be very enjoyable up in the club seats. You're a little far from the action but all the benefits you mentioned outweigh that.
Skirt Steak

Marinate some skirt steak (include some lime juice in the marinade).  Pat it dry.  Put a chipotle-based dry rub on it.  Grill it fast and hot.  Slice it up and throw it in tortillas with all the extras... cheese, avocados, salsa, onions, cilantro, black beans... whatever you like.  Ther aroma alone will make you drool.

Peltor Kid's Earmuffs

Sit up higher with your young child.  The noise will be reduced and you will be closer to the concourse.  Get sound blocking headphones for about $23.  Google Peltor Kid's Earmuffs.

According to the athletic department...

The UM ticket allotment is in sections 117-119, 124 and 225-227 (behind one bench, in the corner and behind one basket).

The Love for Michigan Replay...

The love for Michigan Replay from those of us that followed Michigan Football in the '70s and '80s can't even be understood by younger fans.

The games were only on television once or twice a year, so you either attended the games or listened to Ufer on the radio.  Then you read whatever was written in The Free Press, The News or other local papers.  It was a rare bonus when you found something in Sports Illustrated about Michigan.  That's it.  Very little sports radio, no ESPN, no blogs, no internet.

We were so hungry for information about our sports heroes we would sit through horrible Bob Hope TV specials just to get a glimpse of the college football all-americans.  So, to have Bo, Mo, and Lloyd talk us through the game film was just about the best thing in the world.  I have memories of watching in the South Quad lounges on Sunday mornings with some of the football players - - they wanted to hear what the coaches said too!

Why No Priority Points?

It's unclear why you have not activated your priority points.  You said you never "bothered" to activate them.  In another post you said you didn't understand the whole Priority Points thing.  Priority Points now drive everything  - - access to season tickets, seat locations, away game tickets and parking.  If you have points "banked" you should spend the $100 to activate them.  It's all about $$$ with Brandon and the points are his way of scorecarding the $$$ we give to the athletic department.

Geeze, let's not get too far ahead.

Keep it simple at first.  1) Stick to the three main sports, and 2) hold off on all the old-timers talk for now.

By the way, the first six inductees will be Haglin, Hunwick, M. Harris, Novak, B. Graham and Henne.  K. Porter, S. Douglass, Hart, Long and B. Edwards on the bubble.

The difference between UM and Ohio...

The difference between UM and Ohio can be summed up pictorial by comparing Lewan on his bike with Pryor next to his Corvette - - unless of course some alumnus bought him the bike.

Word of Warning

Don't read the annarbor.com article at work.  Your co-workers will want to know why you are crying.

Inspiring!

Reading this post and the posts about Brock Mealer in the same sitting has me more fired up for Saturday than I have ever been!  Hooooaaahhhhh!

I was on the fence......

I was on the fence on this issue until I read Brian's post.  Once you read it (please read it Dave Brandon) the issue is clear.  If you want to preserve the essence of college football...... if you want to honor tradition....... if you want to keep college football the best sport in the country....... you must put Michigan and OSU in the same conference and have them play in the last game of the regular season.

It's not a rhetorical question......

It's not a rhetorical question.  Why don't they check their vision?  I wondered the same thing when I heard that Curtis Granderson needed contact lenses.

I like....

..... the Smash and T-Woolf shirts (it SHOULD be "Woolf").  The Francais shirt?....... ehh.

I think less of anyone .....

who uses steroids in baseball (or any sport).  If they come forward and admit it before being caught I give them a little respect back.  If they admit it after they are caught, I feel they've at least done the right thing by admitting it.  If they lie about and get caught in the lie I lose all respect for them.  If they arrogantly lie about and act like a-holes (Bonds, Clements) I consider them dead.

Low is The Way to Go

I sit down low (first 10 rows) near the 50 yard line.  It's cramped, you stand all game long and the sight lines are bad unless the play is right in front of you.  It also takes forever to get up and down the aisle.  However, you are so close you can see the players' faces and almost feel the hits.  I wouldn't trade my tickets for any other location.

Two Good Ones.......

...... are Cafe Habana (right next to Blue Tractor) and Cafe Zola (also on Washington, but West of Main)
