That last sentence Is something several of us have talked about after that game. It is totally true and not the feeling I had about him before two months ago. His finish was spectacular to watch and one of my favorite things in a lifetime of Michigan fandom. Thanks Ace, for the great write up
Forgive me But I feel you may be suffering from your user name...
Maybe Perhaps SC meant "suer," like a lawyer?

My memory Was living in South Quad. The night of the championship game, some tool thought it would be cute to pull the fire alarm with about 4 minutes left. After unsuccessfully trying to lock ourselves in our room, we went outside. On our way by the old common area, several of us turned all the TVs toward the windows. Outside, people were on each other's shoulders, in trees, standing on anything possible to see. That is where we saw Rumeal hit the winning free throws! We then joined the above mentioned fray! What a night!! Later, was able to acquire a chair from the floor of the Kingdome, signed by Bo and Steve Fisher, which still sits proudly in my basement.
Thanks Brian Slogging through other sites comments and mindless talk radio complaints about officials makes reading your well-written, and funny wrap ups all the more enjoyable. Your analysis of the building knowledge that you were watching a special game was evident even at home. That it involved such a special, TEAM made the ending that much more painful. Thanks, again, for your work
Thanks fellas And thanks Jordan Morgan. Your anti-pundit work ethic in this tournament was something to behold! We fans are so appreciative of how you played, and how you represented the University! Go Blue!
As much as I like him I don't think you can be coach of the year from the middle of the Big Ten.
I think he did! http://imageshack.com/a/img855/2779/hsrf.gif
As has been said before 2013 can die in a fire!
Man We are a whiny bunch...
That really ade me laugh
That ^ That ^
I like to think I am patient And I want to give enough time to get offense, experience, etc, but it is hard for me to see how there are ANY bright spots that would give you hope for next year and a willingness to see how that goes...
That is The first thing to make me smile in several hours.
All the +1's to you Well put.
I don't see How this is different from the traditional way of handling this. I would argue that players have aspired for years to wear the notable numbers in Michigan Football history. I'm sure there are some content to keep what is given them, but there is a long history of changing players numbers (#1 especially). I am not sure this is a lot different. I agree, generally, that someone in the future may be less than eager to change. However, I think most players recognize, and embrace, the honor associated with being asked to wear a legacy jersey. That will, necessarily, likely decrease the number of numbers that become legacy in time (as more than one great player gets shifted to a legacy number in the course of the career, but I think that's ok. I also think, though, that it would be fine to not necessarily change current star players to legacy numbers, rather, let new players get those numbers in due course as they come in.
Do we want to know Why you know you know about Blue Seal swine pellets?
Woohoo!! More of a nail biter than anyone would like (make a free throw, arrrgh!!) Still great effort against the vaunted 2-3 zone! On to the Cardinals!!! Go Blue!!
And in other news, Rain continues to be wet.

Bottom Line:

Championship teams make late free throws.  There are other things that contribute to each loss and there are many you can identify in this game, but bottome line- gotta ice the game when the opponent puts you in that position...Still, a great game and a great effort.  After wandering for more than a decade in the wilderness of college basketball, this is still preferable to what we have typically talked about after the last regular season game for many of recent years.

As great as Burke is (and he is) I still think this team will be better when they aren't in the position of watching to see what he will do before they do what they are going to do.  That trend has increased over the season and is materially related to more inconsistent play.

Still, very proud of this team, and still with tremendous upside over the next few weeks. Go Blue!

Bravo! Accompanying my wife on a work related outing for a client. I am currently a useless functionary sitting in a chair with tears in my eyes. Prompting speculation from my wife and the worker helping her as to what I could possibly be laughing so hard at. Well done!
Brilliant! It even has the family photo! Nice work.

Part of the problem

as I sat there, was that the stadium was so empty. I think the other factor is that the games are so spread out now. Many don't even fall during the "holiday" season. Kids are back in school, etc. I know that was almost a deal-breaker for me. To be able to go to a warm weather venue over the holidays, make a trip of it with the family (or with friends if a student at the school) was always an attraction of the NYD bowls. I get the TV piece, but that doesn't even seem to bear out, because who even knows that the Poulan Weed Eater Bowl is on Tuesday night. Half the games are results on the crawl or a duh-duh-duh duh-duh-duh on my phone. I think compressing them back over a narrower span of days worked better and made people care more. I agree with Brian that you know the system is broken when attendance and ratings are where they are, at a time when football seems to be at a zenith.
