I don't know if I've ever seen a team go 1-14 from 3. That's just terrible, and yet OSU still won.

Thought we took Spike over Della Valle as we were looking for a PG incase Burke left. Though I'd take either one over him at this point. Thought he was supposed to be a pretty good shooter and maybe shooting 35% from 2 is good by OSU standards, but he's no where close to LeVert or Albrecht.

Wow, not watching this game, but how does OSU have more OReb than Purdue has DReb?

I'm just surprised there's a sports arena that still lets you buy a beer for $4.

Has anyone done an in depth look at why Michigan seems to struggle on defense under Beilein? Does he just spend more time on teaching offense? Is it the fact that Michigan is one of the youngest teams in the country and doesn't have the really highly rated recruits that teams like Arizona, Kentucky, and Kansas have? Or do the coaches lack the ability to teach dominant defense?

Dont forget Walton, we've seen what PGs do in their second year with Beilein and Walton is the highest rated of the bunch.

I feel like Michigan has been very successful under Beilein against teams that rely heavily on turnovers on defense and the fast break on offense. If Michigan can get shots to fall early(big IF right now) I don't think Ill can catch up.

Just looking at the box scores of their last few games they seem to be forcing a lot of turn overs (11stls per game the last 3 games) and scoring easy points off of those.
Over the last year of Michigan basketball I've come to not worry much about defenses predicated on forcing turnovers against Michigan. Beilein handled VCU, put up a ton of points on Louisville, and hasn't struggled handling the press when teams deploy it against them. With 3 players on the floor who can handle the ball I'm optimistic about Michigan being able to break Illinois' 4 game streak of not giving up 50 points and I don't know if Illinois has the offense to keep up without easy points off turnovers.

Lets break that streak.

Just because he has good vision doesn't mean he's a good passer. Maybe he's the only one who can see tacopants on his team?

I'm pretty sure Steve is a coach. It was probably before you joined but he used to provide great insight to the casual fans here, similar to Magnus or Space Cayote these days.

I don't see how you can be so sure he needs 2 years. He clearly knows how to put in the work after putting on 20 lbs last summer and I bet he does something similar again. Everyone thought Stauskas was 2 years away last year and LeVert has better numbers this year than THJ did his last year. Enjoy LeVert while you can, because he's probably a first round pick next year.

I just hope he ends up on a decent team that knows how to use a slot receiver, not some crappy team like Jacksonville.

Not only the split M logo but also the NFL logo. And everyone knows how much the NFL hates anyone making money in relation to them if they aren't getting a cut. Hall should hear from a bunch of lawyers pretty soon.

Yes, who needs Morgan this year? And Horford next year? That's a wasted scholarship spot. There is clearly no use for a RS in cbb.

I was glad I shoveled early because after the rain started the snow got heavy. Hoping it's not too terrible tomorrow morning.
|4 weeks 23 hours ago||The amount of improvement we||
The amount of improvement we saw from Butt last year shows he is a very hard worker and was probably practicing with his teammates when this happened, We all saw the benefits from Gallon practicing in the off season with Gardner and hopefully it has rubbed off on the younger recievers and TEs.
Hope that Butt can put in the work that Ryan did(and practicing in February implied he can), because this is a month earlier than Ryan tore his ACL and he was back on the field by mid October.
At least the OC is no longer married to multiple TE sets and we won't be forced to play a 220 lb true freshman Bunting at TE even if he's not ready or move Funchess back inside.

I don't think anyone should be surprised by this. If LeVert puts in the same amount of work this summer as he did last summer he will go into next year finally close to a D1 playing weight and has an uncanny ability to get close to the basket. Once he can muscle through contact a bit more he will be very dangerous. Throw in some improved shooting and passing and cutting down on dribling the air out of the ball and I don't see why he can't be a first round pick.

It's funny, I hate the new design too, but they had a thread about the new site a few days ago and 95% of the posts were praising the new design as being amazing.

Really? So someone who doesn't know much about being an OC should be more involved with the offense because your idea of a head coach is involved in the offense?

Context matters too. Often these dumb responses come from reporters asking dumb leading questions.

While I agree some of the Sochi complaints are over the top and sound entitled (tp in the wastebasket is not uncommon outside the USA), a lot of the gripes are reasonable and highlight the huge amounts of graft associated with Russia and the Olympics. Hotel rooms that look like construction sites, contaminated water, cameras in bathrooms, missing manhole covers.
Plus, how can people still believe that the Olympics are just about sports. The Olympic committee makes the NCAA corruption look like child's play. The games are often a time when the host country shows off its power (see Beijing Olympics). And while for the athletes in the USA it may just be about competing, countries like China use the Olympics as a nationalistic tool; trying to show the superiority of China, training kids solely in sports from a young age with no other education and tossing them to the curb if they get seriously injured, and quelling unrest via sport.
I've never cared much for the Olympic sports but this year, everyone I've spoken to who usually enjoys them just doesn't seem to care. I hope Russia loses face over the games and the shitshow it has been so far, I just hope no one dies from the shoddy construction or a terrorist attack.

So, how about them cameras in the bathrooms?
Sochi is going to be a shitshow and the schadenfruede fan in me is going to love it. I just hope people don't die.

What is Home supposed to say? "Gardener is the QB and Morris shouldn't try to win the job because he won't get it"? Every single starting spot is "open" come spring ball. Do you think Ryan will lose the SAM battle? or Countess the cb battle?
This is just coach speak.

I do it without a stone, but mines also not exactly traditional. I use a no-knead Lebanese flatbread recipe from the NYTimes. Cook for about a minute on one side, flip it and spread toppings on fast the close the grill and cook a couple minutes to finish. Tomato sauce and cheese works, buy I've also done fig, goat cheese, and balsamic onions and other similar pizzas with great success.
I'm sure you could use a premade dough if you rolled it out and brushed it with oil before grilling. The oil is key to prevent sticking. I roll it very thin so it cooks fast and use a fairly high heat. If you roll it thicker use a lower heat to prevent burning the crust. Important to grease both sides because you want to flip it before putting toppings on.

I'm as big a Michigan fan as anyone, but if I was a 5* recruit I'd pick Stanford over Michigan. Between football, weather, and academics Stanford has it all right now.
|5 weeks 6 days ago||I have high hopes for LeVert||
I have high hopes for LeVert to take over the Stauskas role next season being the teams go to leader. He has shown flashes this year but I can't figure out where the 18 lbs went because he still looks rail thin. Hopefully he can put another 18 lbs on and be a bit stronger in the paint. However, adding more weight may cause him to lose his ability to go 2-D and get to impossible spots on the floor.
