The 25 yard line change for xp is a poor fix, it needlessly complicates the game. They should just eliminate the xp all together and make TDs worth 7 points. If you want to risk 1 point to go for 2 you can do that, but the xp is a total waste of time and not worth "making more interesting".

Supposed to be flying into NYC from Florida at 1 tomorrow, just as the blizzard warning goes into effect. Already switched from the 9 pm flight but I don't know if it will be enough.

Don't worry, Michigan will gradually improve over the season and then pull off a few upsets in the B1G tournament and make it in that way.

I really hope Norfleet makes a lot of people look silly with a competent special teams coach this season. The reason for optimism is probably because he was one of the only playmakers out there this year. Besides Funchess, no one was exciting to watch. Plus he was often at a disadvantage on returns considering he too often only had 9 blockers.

Is there actually a difference when you offer 4 year scholarships? Can't you still have your scholarship revoked for "violation of team rules" or be encouraged to move on to where you will get more playing time by people who are successful because they are very convincing with young adults?
|1 week 4 days ago||Not that it doesn't happen||
Not that it doesn't happen but the % reported as trafficked or enslaved is likely exagerated by cops and DAs who want money and headlines as well as by the women themselves who claim to be trafficked to get out of any penalty. The ones who are doing it against their will don't get the help they need because time is being wasted on thsoe who actually choose the line of work.
|1 week 4 days ago||The only thing making it||
The only thing making it illegal does is make it dangerous for the women. They can't go to the police if something bad happens to them, there is no one looking out for them (regulation, protection, rights), and human trafficking is more lucrative. Men still want it, and women want the money it brings in. If they haven't been able to end it by now they never will so why not make it safer for all involved.

I doubt they buy the same quality beef as Chop House, probably the same vendor though. And they also don't have the experience in the kitchen cooking it or the same equipment.

Yes, food is included. That's why they are at Chop House.

I was against the NCAA getting involved in this in the first place as I felt it was a criminal issue and not the NCAAs job. And now they can't even do what they did correctly.

Maybe he prefers college to NFL coaching so when USC came calling with an attractive offer, he made the switch. Also got a bit of a promotion with being the run game coordinator as well and there appear to have been 2 OL coaches with the 49ers.

Schemes, gameplan, looking for weaknesses in oposing defenses and figuring out how to exploit them. There's a lot more to being an OC than just choosing which play to run.

The Walker commitment like the Weber commitment happened during a big OSU game, is this some strategy by Meyer to have players announce during big OSU games?
|1 week 6 days ago||Never take a public figures||
Never take a public figures statements to the media as truth. Saban was saying until the day he was hired by Alabama that he was staying in Miami, Harbaugh said he hadn't given much thought to the Michigan job at his last SF press conference, and there are countless other examples of people blatantly lying to the media.
|1 week 6 days ago||The coaches Durkin has worked||
The coaches Durkin has worked for is really impressive. Head coaches Meyer and Harbaugh and defensive coordinators Charlie Strong, Teryl Austin and Dan Quinn. And if you're worried that the defense at Florida was all Muschamp, look at what Durkin's predecessor at DC, Dan Quinn, went and did. Florida 2011-2012 was Quinn's first DC job and he went on from there to coach the last 2 years of the Seattle defense. So either he was a great defensive coach and was responsible for the good Florida defenses or Muschamp taught him a lot. Either one is a pretty good sign for Durkin.

Interesting thing I realized listening to this that I hadn't connected before. Texas A&M offered Durkin before Chavis, implying they wanted Durkin even more than Chavis.

There is probably a cultural aspect to it as well. The parents who have the money to support a football program in NYC don't want their kids playing football. They often don't come from the same football culture as parents in cities like Chicago or aren't the types who were into football growing up.
|2 weeks 15 hours ago||Combination of factors: Lots||
Combination of factors: Lots of immigrants, no where to play except outer boros, outer boro schools don't have budgets for football and there is no major interest to provide funding. As someone who went to school in NYC, you just never even thought of playing organized football, more likely to play soccer, basketball, baseball, squash, tennis, or maybe hockey.

You're welcome. My research was using 247 which seems to have a much better interface but I had to do a lot of it manually because most of the players aren't committed to Michigan. Knowing he recruited the mid-Atlantic helped knowing who to look at.
|2 weeks 1 day ago||His numbers took a big hit||
His numbers took a big hit with all the decommits but he was responsible for the mid Atlantic region and Michigan has done very well there recently. Roseborro and Garrett Taylor were largely creditted to Manning and there might have been others were it not for the terrible season. He was also the recruiter for Da'Shawn Hand who very easily could have picked Michigan if the season went better.

I feel like there may be some early season losses as there are growing pains with new teams and coaches but everything starts to come together in early B1G play. The pieces are there to have a great defense and if a QB can emerge over the season the team should be decent come November. If Harbaugh can tap whatever Hoke did in the OSU game, I think MIchigan has a shot there.

How exactly does an 8 team bracket work with #1 and 2 getting a first round bye. If teams 3-8 play the first round you are left with 5 teams. Should just accept 6 teams and give 1&2 a bye.

A lot of throwing power comes from the legs so if he really had a torn quad it would hinder his "arm strength". People are too quick to jump to conclusions about players when they have a few bad games. Anyone remember when people said Brady was on the decline at the start of this season?

I don't quite understand the obsession everyone has with post season stats and titles in a team game. In todays world of advanced stats and data why does a win in the playoffs mean more than a win in the regular season? Why does being able to win 3 or 4 in a row at the end of the season mean more than winning 13 of your previous 16 games?
