I want to beat Ohio and all, but I feel bad for the guy.
|1 day 17 hours ago||Just for the heck of it, I'll ask||
What do you think that is? It is too wide to be an elbow, isn't it?
Is there a doctor in the house?
|1 day 20 hours ago||WTF?||
First Question - The whole "law school dork" factor aside, who the fuck gets a knee tattoo?
Actually, I do not want to know the answer.
|1 day 20 hours ago||Just a bit of confusion||
Brandon scheduled home and homes against Man United and Real Madrid. Imagine his embarassment when the whole "football" translation thing came to light.

I am sorry, but I don't see where all of the Gardner as elite monster QB hero is coming from. Per ESPN, he was 32 out of 130 in QB rankning last year. That's just inside of the top 25%, which is good, but is not an elite monster. The projected 145 for 2104 would actually drop him a few spots.
It seems that when evaluating Devin, Michigan fans are perfectly willing to allow him the excuses of a bad offense, while ignoring the fact that he was part of that offense. His game has limits that impacted the offense and contributed its woes. For example, he wasn't able to consistently read and deliver quickly so as to force defenses to take a step back from the line of scrimmage. He also reverted to his tendency to double back and spin away from pressure when he should have gotten rid of the ball. He also had "Gallon-lock" in key situations.
I am not suggesting that Devin shouldn't start. He is celarly our QB this year. I am also not saying that he sucks or anything like that. My point is that he is what he is - a good QB with some serious flaws in his game who loves Michigan and plays his heart out for us. Let's appreciate him for that and not blame everyone else on the team if he doesn't get flown to New York in December.

But that is how life is sometimes. It is unfortunately that he had to learn this lesson the hardway.

Plus 1 for taking the opposite view. I don't think I agree with you, but I appreciate the willingness to go against the grain (or Panzers as the case may be).

|1 week 4 days ago||So||
Your point is that we should change our uniforms to shitty mock-throwbacks because your 15 year old nephew likes Oregon and said shirty fake throwbacks will fix our current problem of not getting any attention from recruits?
|1 week 4 days ago||At least||
the uniformz worn for UTL 1 were a "one-time thing," right?
|1 week 5 days ago||Love it||
Especially enjoyed the file photo of Hoke and a bunch of football players.

1. I love the OBC. Entertaining as hell. College football is waaaay more interesting with personalities like him.

It's gotta be me, right. It's not possible that you're wrong is it? I mean those unis are just sooooo badass.

Next thing you'll be trying to tell me that Tom Osborne was not a Legendary Big Ten coach! Or wait, was he a Leader?
|2 weeks 5 days ago||Cringe||
Anyone else find that to be 100% awkward? He was trying to get his players to cheer their new uniformz and the players were just not having it.
However, Bo is making a hell of a case for being the Most Interesting Coach in the Big Ten.
|2 weeks 5 days ago||I'm glad you pointed that out!||
I would have been confused wondering when Michigan changed its name to the Tigers, and where Price would play on the football team.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Leadership is hard||
It is harsh to lay this all at Lewan's feet.
Leadership is not easy, especially when you are 22 years old. These guys have so little experience with being a leader. Maybe they were a team captain in HS when they were throwing future engineering students around the field. Then, they were to told to "watch Denard" for a season or two (during which they are busy trying to adjust to being in college.) After that, they are told to "be the man." Sometimes, it just doesn't work.
From my very uninformed perspective, it seemed like Lewan became the team leader by default because he was one of the best players on the team. It seemed that he tried to be a leader, but it never seemed to click. (See the comment about not being pushed around by MSU and the rumors that he would yell at others.) It seems like he was trying to be a leader by doing what he thought he was supposed to do. Maybe he was just better off as a talented but goofy guy on a twosie.
There were a number of others who could have acted as the team leader, but none of them really did. Hopefully someone will this year.
|2 weeks 6 days ago||Not worthy||
I can't get past the fact that there is zero reason why the NFLPA would ever even consider this. It would actually hurt proven players who could be "replaced" by a guy with an MIP from five years ago who would only make 75k.
|3 weeks 15 hours ago||Thank you for the update||
Thanks for letting me know that my copy didn't get lost, and that my wife didn't accidently thrown it out or something.
As has been noted, your apology is 1) accepted and 2) totally not needed.
|3 weeks 1 day ago||Talkers gonna talk||
If you have a sweet gig at ESPN talking about college football, you will find something to talk about. Because, you know, it's your job.

|3 weeks 3 days ago||My thoughts exactly||
He isn't making NBA money, but he isn't going into debt so he he can bust his ass in Law School (as did I) nor is he making 40K in some random job. He is geting paid (is it really tax free?!) pretty well to play basketball in Rome! There are worse ways to spend your mid-20s.
Of course, he can do that for a few years and then come back to law school or whatever path he wants to pursue.
|3 weeks 3 days ago||Really||
You want a freely flowing minor league free market without and cartel restrictions on the players? Ok, then get ready hear that Funchess signed with UCLA for 1 million, to help form a dominant Big market team. Peppers is long gone to Rutgers to join their 120M in payroll funded by rich donors. Get ready for Gardner to hold out because he wants more money. Get ready for Jake Ryan's agent to been seen out with Urbs s talking about a contract to bring JMFR to the Shoe. Get ready for Saban to sign a 14 year old for 500K and to be hailed as a genius for doing so.
|3 weeks 4 days ago||I agree with Cope||
Your question is a good one, but I agree with Cope's comments. Of course, amateurism, by itself, dosen't include all of the stuff we love about football Saturdays. But, that stuff is already under attack by athletic departments commercializing the sport. Turning the players into paid professional athletes kills what's left.
Admittedly, that's just, like, my opinion man.
