barbecue

Best barbecue I have found in ann arbor/ypsi is Ron's Roadside Barbecue. It is a hole in the wall place on pontiac trail (near dixboro, so kind of far out). But unbelievable. Mostly a takeout place, they have a couple of picnic tables, that's it.

But surely the coaches have

But surely the coaches have influence as to whether certain players should be checked out or not, right? Is the medical staff's role to run to coaches and say, "get that player off the field"? This is such a copout. I would like a quote from "the medical staff" who in all likelihood was tending to someone else at the time and not watching the field to search for players who need to be evaluated.

sad

Morris collapsing into a lineman's arms (braden?) was ON THE SCOREBOARD. Everyone saw it apparently except the coaches.

I was seriously almost crying in the stands. This kid, on what probably started out as the greatest day of his life, was left out there injured and probably concussed to the attacking wolves, and then when he stayed in there were loud boos, and when he came off loud cheers, which he most likely assumed were directed at him. THEY WERE DEFINITELY NOT. I was horrified. I have never been horrified in that stadium for something like that before. It was a total collapse and dereliction of responsibility. IT WAS ON THE SCOREBOARD.

Meanwhile, the band and PA system were clearly being instructed to not leave any possible silence for people to boo at. And when Morris was finally removed, they were taking their sweet time and had no seeming concern for anything at all.

This was just a horrifying experience. I thought last week was the low point. before that I thought the bowl game was the low point. Before that I thought the Nebraska game was the low point. It can't possibly get any worse, right? It is patently obvious that these players are leaving their guts on the field in the first half and being abandoned. I just hope that their confidence isn't shot, especially Morris. I was a Hoke supporter until today because despite the results on the field, he is a decent man and recruits well and has the right attitude for college coaching. But after today I just don't know what to think.

This would be a great season

This would be a great season to just say, "what the hell, let's do something that will endear our students to us" and drop the price to like $5 for student tickets or something. Call it fan appreciation year or something.

I think an email with more

I think an email with more exclamation points would have helped.

High schools and state

So how does someone like McGary or ALbrecht or Stauskas fit into this though? They did not go to high school in the place where they are "from" so is McGary considered to be "from" New Hampshire or Indiana?

I see you mentioned it above for stauskas but is that true for everyone? And how do you know whether someone transferred to a basketball factory instead of going to their natural high school?

p.s.

And by the way, just have to say the recaps you guys do of these games are so incredible. Informative, enjoyable to read, intelligent, etc. Thanks.

Payne

Weird to say but I am going to miss Payne. I love watching him play (except against UM!) because he is so versatile and such a beast. I really couldn't figure out what was going on with him in this game because it seemed like they stopped going to him after the first 10 minutes or so. But then I started noticing how gassed he looked and read those comments in the articles about it, and it made sense. He was taking "I'm tired" kinds of shots and not making them.

Amazing

Amazing stats but reality was amazing too. It was actually unbelievable to watch last year how terrible the O-line was. There are times watching football when I tell myself that the O-line performance isn't THAT important as long as they are big and can get in the way, but last year just proved how wrong that was. And it can't be talent. I refuse to believe that it was talent-based. Or even skill based. Because you could have probably plugged any one of these guys into a really good O-line and they would have performed well, right?

naming things

The naming rights thing is amazing in how crazy it gets. I got a tour of the Basketball facilities last year, tons of stuff had names on it. There was a room back there where they warmed food up for guests, like a mini-kitchen. It had some dude's name on it. The "so and so food warming room" I think. If I was that rich no way in hell I would name stuff after myself. Seems like a recipe for people coming after you for your money or googling your house to show up and steal something.

rankings

The poll is just a total crapshoot at this point.

O'Brien

Danny O'Brien got arrested recently too. How high was UM on him ever? I think I remember he had an offer at one point but it never seemed like he was intent on coming - was it mutual dislike? http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/10427311/tennessee-volun…

woman?

One of my sparty friends says a lot of this is about a girlfriend either he met up there or who is going there. Does this have any validity?

I am just wondering if this kid will actually be good or not. Seems like he has a lot of issues. If he does make the NFL, he seems like the odds of him getting into financial trouble because of some family member stealing and spending all his money are pretty high.

face palm

I was at this game, my head seriously started to hurt from all the face palming I was doing in the first half. Giving up wide open layups, giving up wide open threes, refusing to box out after misses, taking contested 20 foot jumpers, etc.  Offense and defense. My 4 year old was with me and he kept asking me what was wrong, then just said, "michigan is terrible daddy." Wisconsin wasn't even shooting that well.

Gif #3

Am I wrong or could Walton have been called for carrying the ball there? Kind of a high dribble.

Plastic Man is pretty good. For some reason Levert reminds me of the greased up deaf guy.
