FWIW. Michigan doesn't seem inclined to get re-involved.

I went to the same HS as Penn State DB Kimani Herring. Kim's older brother attended UM and was a big fan. Moeller's staff apparently was late in getting his plane tickets for his official visit and that turned him off. I suppose it would have been uncool for them to point out it was only a three-hour drive.

What does a S&C coach do with that?

I couldn't believe he was the same guy. DIdn't really give his career much of a boost though.

Vulgarity 10, Cleverness 0. It would be nice if we could get back to being as smug about our school's relative football prowess as we are about basic decency.

that there weren't more dirty songs insulting Michigan. What kind of Buckeyes are these people, anyway?

or perhaps that he wears blue jeans occasionally. That would indicate he was really out of control and needed to go.

They report a bunch of secondary violations and conceal the really dirty stuff.

My Norelco (Philips now, I guess) is going strong but the cord broke. I did some googling but it didn't seem like replacement cords were readily available. Then I remembered I had Grandpa's shaver somewhere. By some miracle I was able to dig it out and the cords are the same. Grandpa earned two UM degrees in the 30s (BA and JD). Go Blue.

Super awesome. Loved the final climb, echo SuperStringer's comments.

There is an element of the OSU fanbase that feels a compulsion or even a sense of duty to be rude to Michigan fans. It shouldn't surprise you that this compulsion grows stronger once they have tucked into a few Budweisers. I wore my maize and blue HAIL shirt around downtown Cleveland last Saturday. The score: one high five, two hecklers (one drunk started the "O H" cheer, one who asked my wife what my problem was), and one insurance adjuster who thought it was about a hail storm. My wife didn't attend UM but she takes more offense at the heckling than I do. The worst so far was a policeman working crowd control at a county fair last summer who said out loud that it would be okay if the horse-drawn carriages ran over my 6yo daughter because she was wearing a Michigan shirt. Mrs. EE hasn't gotten over that one yet. At a golf tourney, give any detractors your best smile and marvel at how easy it is to get under Buckeye fans' skin.

In fact, I did predict that when I heard about it earlier this afternoon. Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people? I know the US shot down an Iranian passenger plane in the Gulf back in the 80s, but at least the combatants or would-be combatants in that region were using planes for something. Is there any element of air war in the Ukraine fight, especially as large as an airliner that travels at that altitude?

And it reflects almost exactly the conversation I had with my best friend from high school when we saw eachother at Christmas after our first terms at Michigan and Ohio State.
He: At my orientation, my RA told three Michigan jokes.
I: That's interesting, I didn't hear my RA mention Ohio State in four months.
That was a different era, as Gordon Gee's greatest 13-13 win took place that autumn after four straight UM wins, but I think that supports the larger reality: saying nasty stuff about Michigan is deeply ingrained in the OSU fan mentality, regardless of the current state of the rivalry. Dicks will be dicks. Sure would be nice to get a win though.

thinking that Memphis was hiring three new assistants, each of whom is a father of a future recruit. I was impressed at their enterprise. The actual story is no big deal imho. Is it really that different from Penn State hiring Larry Johnson?

Helped get our team to the state semifinals. One really good pitcher can take a team pretty far. This story is like Randy Moss and Jason Williams without all the legal trouble.

Great show. Of course it was the substitute lead singer (great voice and and a Scarlett Johanssen lookalike) so I've never seen the usual lineup.

The Oklahoma game may be on my 51st or 52nd birthday. My second grader may be a UM freshman or sophomore if we can afford it. I have to go cry now.

that I didn't realize or remember that Feagin ever appeared in a game. I arrived in Aruba the day of the Minn game and flew home the day after the NW game, and that was before I had a smartphone so I was oblivious. Plus I chose going to see the Twilight movie with my wife instead of watching the OSU game (nobody had offered me a free root canal that day) so I didn't watch any of the three games Feagin played. It sure nice that Michigan is back to winning all the time again.

"Following University President-elect Mark Schlissel’s selection in January, concerns were also raised on secrecy specifically in the presidential search process. All Michigan public universities have been allowed to conduct presidential searches in private as of a 1999 Michigan Supreme Court decision."
Why the passive voice? Who raised the concerns? It's too bad the Daily doesn't have an ace journalism school like MSU's at its disposal.
For good or bad, this paragraph is a far cry from the "Duderstadt is Illegal!" protests in 1988 that the Daily promoted with front page exhortations to the student body.
FWIW I am amused by people who get shirty about job searches that are conducted out of the public eye. That's how recruitment works for nearly everybody except pro athletes.
|2 weeks 2 days ago||The OSU games are too high-stress for me||
I live in Ohio so we simply must win that one. I've only attended two losses to OSU: 2001 and 2005, which sucked.
2002 Michigan State was good. The margin was almost enough.
I watched UTL 1.0 from my living room. It was awesome and I don't think I could have handled the strain in person. The two late Michigan TDs were at the far end from my usual seat, so that wouldn't have helped.
UTL 2 was on my birthday, a beautiful evening, and following some pregame jitters I was never really worried that we were going to lose. Plus: chicken dance.
