I really hope that Harbaugh was more or less telling him, we don't think you can play anymore, you most likley won't see the field much or at all, you won't be able to make the NFL, so instead of spending countless time and effort practicing when you won't play, focus on your studies. I just can't see why he would push out a soon to be senior when we aren't over the scholarship limit.

He could also know that player X isn't playing tonight or someone else has the flu, etc. Its not hard to picture that scenario.

Tank 7 is amazing and I love the balls the brewer has to face the wrath of the cultists that I'm sure he is on the receiving end of right now

Its not like he bet on the Reds to win every day. As such a prolific gambler, the mere act of him not betting on his team to win on a given day would be just as bad.

Seriously? We had a shitty coach the last four years that was gloriously ill prepared for the job. They are a walking inferiority complex, even after owning us for the better part of a decade.

This isn't someone hanging out in the slums or with drug users/dealers. Hernandez is a sociopath that shot up people multiple times based on some perceived slight. Can't chalk that up to not being able To leave it behind.

The great majority doesn't give a shit whose logo is on the shirt. Ugly is ugly and don't care if it has a swoosh or a few bars (or whatever the Adidas logo is) and both companies make just as many brutally hideous clothes as each other. To think there are thousands of fans just itching to buy clothes if we switch to Nike or would immediately replace their gear just for a damn swoosh is insane.

Wife and I both went to Michigan and were introduced as to the Victors playing as we walked in which the band then segued into our first dance song. Pick a good song and try to avoid the generic first song cliches.
Other things that I considered non-negotiable:
- I would not get married on a football weekends or any other significant weekends that I didn't want to go to a wedding on (NFL playoff weekends, NCAA tourney, holiday weekends).
- Wedding has to have an open bar with a good choice of beer, liquor and mixers. Make sure to get it in the contract what they will serve and specify brands ifyou have any favorites. I picked the scotch, vodka, beer that would be served and also specified if I wanted a particular mixer.
- Pigs n blankets were not negotiable at the cocktail hour. A wedding without pigs n blankets is not a wedding.
- Have a do-not-play list for yoru band or DJ. We had most disco and generic wedding songs on there that people under the age of 50 can't dance to. We told our band that the primary thing we wanted was to have our friends dance and to pick appropriate songs for that.
Another piece of advice, once your reception starts, it may be hard for you to actually sit down and eat. If you get married on site (rather than at a church), most places will have a room for the bride to get ready. Highly recommend that you ask them to stock it with the cocktail hour food so you can relax for 20 min after the ceremony and get a bit to eat before going to the reception. Once the party starts, you'll have a tough time eating so get it while you can.

Some terrible advice re: band. Good wedding bands are better than a DJ playing his ipod. Good is the key word. Nothing can ruin a wedding more so than either a bad band or DJ. Do your diligence. If you've been to a good wedding in the area, figure out who played that one.
Try to remember every wedding that you have been to had terrible music and remember those songs. Put them on a do not play list. Having a do not play list is much better than picking every song (but shouldn't stop you from having 1-2 must play songs)

On the honeymoon, I would highly recommend waiting until Monday or Tuesday after the wedding to leave. That way you don't have to worry about rushing to the airport the day after your wedding and can just relax for a day after the wedding

You mean it would have stopped when they did not have a documented initial inflation number for each ball. You cant draw a conclusion on an amount of change without a starting point. The only known and provable facts are at half time most (all?) of the Patriots football measured at a lower psi than the four Colts footballs tested. That is it. Can't conclude about starting point or amount of change without documented evidence.
|7 weeks 2 days ago||Agreed. I love how Wells||
Agreed. I love how Wells discounted the Anderson's recollection of which gauge he used (the discounting of which conveniently supported the NFL's assertion of deflating) but relied upon his recollection (of the same event) of what the psi of the Pats' and Colts' footballs were pre-game

|7 weeks 3 days ago||Agree, I'm not sure I would||
Agree, I'm not sure I would really consider anyone outside of a first round pick (maybe just the top 20 picks) that didn't wind up being a successful player a bust. This list is a joke. Funchess was the first player on this list selected and some of the others were 3rd and 5th rounders.
A bust is a first rounder coming in with sky high expectations that fails to live up to them. How many 2nd rounders, let alone 3rd or 5th rounders, wind up being difference makers? There is a lot less invested in them and less hell to pay if they don't wind up successful.

They really don't make jackets like they used to. That lovely nylon that was wrinkled off the rack, the yellow lumpy quilting lining, the oversize elastic cuffs and waist. A thing of true beauty.

Yes Simmons was a unique presence and probably the first person to really crush it in the pop culture/sports intersection, but I'm not sure how him writing a basketball book or being an internet star 10 years ago has much of an impact today.
I also don't think Grantland is that successful of a website (not talking about its content just a success as a business). it was trying to be a big independent attraction and recall reading that it still generates a majority of its hits from ESPN. It hasn't become a standalone site.
I think he has an inflated sense of his self-worth and infallibility. I think he is going to rue the day that he left probably the biggest platform he had. Maybe he can sneak a few more bucks from some other company for this contract, but who else could give him the visibility and the platform that ESPN does?
|8 weeks 1 day ago||Did Simmons even do anything||
Did Simmons even do anything on Grantland? He certainly didn't write very many articles. Maybe he was the key creative figure behind its creation but how involved was he?
Simmons was great but his star, at least as far as being an anchor writer, seems to have been diminishing for the last few years. Without the reach of ESPN and in a much more crowded field, I wouldn't be surprised to see his star start to fade.
