Should force ESPN to display this post in a panel at the top of the screen at all times.
|18 min 43 sec ago||you are correct||
SMU was the last team out per the head of the selection committee. Their RPI was something like 125. The worst RPI of an at-large bid was something like 90. SMU's out-of-conference RPI was also in the 300s.
|24 min 11 sec ago||I respectfully disagree||
UVA is a poor man's Wisconsin. Villanova and Cincinnati both play in dubious conferences. Cincinnati has been terrible on offense when I've seen them.
|28 min 52 sec ago||If OSU and Syracuse play...||
I'm not sure they'll combine for 80 points.
|32 min 48 sec ago||I do not...||
...view college basketball from a tournament-means-all perspective, but most people do. So the perception of Michigan in the eyes of recruits and others will be driven by what happens in the tournament.
|46 min 31 sec ago||I don't like that...||
...I wish Michigan was the 14th team right now. Winning the Big Ten wasn't worth it from a tournament-means-all perspective. Better to play some weird guys and land in the East.
|51 min 24 sec ago||this is what I dislike the most...||
...about college basketball. It should never seem even for a second like a whole season was eclipsed by a weekend's worth of games. This is why I don't long for a college football playoff.

The NIT went and got all high and mighty on us this year.

When I think of the Boilermakers, I think of Johnsons. Now Purdue Pete isn't even going to have one Johnson? Odd.

...many people here are down on him. I, for one, am simply blowing off almost-lost-Illinois steam with my posts...From what I know of Nash, I want him to have a bunch of money. He'll probably do good things with it. /no politics

X + $9.8 million.

I'd like to announce that I will be playing for the Lakers next year too.
|2 days 5 hours ago||Would this be history?||
Has Michigan ever defeated OSU in the conference tournament? The years of being knocked out by them have created a memory haze for me.
|2 days 7 hours ago||I'm a broken record this time of year, but...||
...I very much hope no one is expecting anything in particular in the BTT or the NCAA Tournament. The nature of a one-and-done tournament is to bite you in the ass pretty often.

|2 days 7 hours ago||Thank you, J-Mo! Great relief!||
I hate these games, where you have little to gain and much to lose and the other team is in the opposite situation. Michigan has some major flaws - as we've always known - and needs to work on their offense against a 2-3 (which I assume most teams don't throw at Michigan much because of their shooting). But I will take a win in a box or with a fox. Time to move onto OSU or Nebraska.

I'm not talking about little green men, just bacteria (or something similarly small).
EDIT: I guess that doens't really fall under the umbrella of astrophysics.
|3 days 10 hours ago||I wasn't alive either, but it was pretty bad||
I always associate Musberger with the way he botched that situation. He referred to the men in an article as "black-skinned stormtroopers." This was taken as a Nazi reference by many.

Is there an easy way to embed the video? I can't get it to work.

Every win has to be earned. Michigan could lose on Friday, for example.
|6 days 3 hours ago||that's the man in a nutshell, I think||
He's as gracious as anyone in sports but a hell of a lot more competitve than a cursory glance would have you believe.
|6 days 5 hours ago||I love the show||
I wish we'd learned more about the Yellow King/Carcosa mythology in the end, though. I don't mind Rust and Marty not catching every member of the cult, but we were given too many reasons to wonder about the nature of the cult/mythology to then be told as little about them as we were. That's not to say that I wanted a real monster at the end, but I did want to know more about what the Tuttles and Childresses believed. I also think Audrey's behavior was a bit too much of a red herring. She wasn't just a troubled kid - she was a troubled kid who acted out the exact manner of Marie Fontenot's death (or was it "just" sexual abuse?) with her dolls. I feel a little toyed with there.
Much of acting, much of the writing, and the cinematograpy were outstanding. I'm not sure I've ever seen a show that created such a vivid sense of place. The music was exceptionally well-chosen as well. The biggest compliment to the show I can pay is to say that I felt totally immersed in its story and place and wanted to spend some more time there searching for answers.
|6 days 8 hours ago||charge circle||
It seems to me that they won't call a charge if a defender is inside it - so it does serve some purpose - but they won't necessarily call a charge if the defend is outside it. That's correct in the abstract, but the problem is that there apparently are no charges now in the eyes of some officials.
|6 days 9 hours ago||Was Stauskas sick?||
He played well, but I thought he looked sick. His face was particularly pale, I thought, and he had black circles under his eyes.
|1 week 1 day ago||DG and Morris||
With all respect to Morris, I think he starts over a healthy DG only the in the following sorts of circumstances: a baby alien bursts through DG's chest, DG insists he will only play if he can have a live parrot on his shoulder, Lady Gaga becomes Michigan's coach and decides she'll start Morris because she thinks he's a better dancer.
We all saw what the two players did and didn't do last year. I think it's good for the coaches to talk about competition, but DG is Michigan's starter.
|1 week 2 days ago||the return to the board of guys who can run||
I'm very glad to see it. I know you can win with a pure pocket passer, but it's such an advantage to have a guy who can take off when things break down. Years of watching players like Vince Young, Donovan McNabb, and Troy Smith dismantle Michigan have made me heavily biased toward having a QB who can make things happen with his legs when no one is open.

I don't know why we wouldn't do it.

That was before the Marketing Virus took over everything in sports...In a couple of years, we will on a daily basis hear things like "Today's love and support is brought to you by your wife and her corporate partner, Proctor & Gamble."
