"It's a lot easier being a drug dealer than an AAU coach" - this guy. Tell me something I don't know. I mean, don't think but have never tried either.

Record against the rivals: 1-2
All of Michigan's losses are close.
The defense is very good but not good enough to win games on their own.
Smith gets the majority of carries and yards among the RBs. DG still leads the team in rushing.
The OL starts off as seal pups being clubbed to death but work their way up to not quite middling.
Peppers returns an interception for a TD in one of the first four games.
A ferret runs onto the field during the Indiana game. He is wearing a vest, but he is not anyone's pet.
Rutgers and Maryland both prove to be annoyingly tough games.
Space Coyote becomes exhausted from defending Funk.
Hagerup excels. Wile struggles a bit on FGs.
The season ends with most of us optimistic for 2015.
The offseason: We laugh. We cry. We are born again in a fast German car.

That might change some opinions.
|1 day 10 hours ago||These are fun to watch||
But I wish these teams were better. Playing games is better than not playing games, but you have to wonder how much more beneficial these outings would be if the opponents were tougher.
|1 day 10 hours ago||Absolutely||
He's not classically handsome, sure, but he's a reliable guy with a good sense of humor. And you just want to cuddle him.

...is the damning one. I don't think RR's QBs or Meyer's QBs make their own audibles. But I can't think of any reason not to give someone on your side time to audible.
|2 days 3 hours ago||Right||
I'm 99% sure the QBs - no matter who it was - didn't have to worry about finding the Mike under RR, because RR and/or Magee would signal in an audible (or not) before every play.

|2 days 5 hours ago||Best non-conference schedule since 1991?||
They played @ Boston College, ND at home, and FSU at home that year.
|2 days 6 hours ago||I agree re: the record (more-or-less)||
I think the defense and passing offense (and special teams?) can beat most of the teams on Michigan's schedule so long as the rushing offense isn't imploding.
|2 days 7 hours ago||That's my impression, but...||
...maybe I'm misunderstanding people.
I'm with you. I'd be pretty happy with 65th.
|2 days 7 hours ago||I can't even find that online||
Did a cave man say that? :)

Michigan has Mitch McGary.
|2 days 8 hours ago||I don't think...||
...wondering whether the first-team OL from the scrimmage will be the first-team OL next Saturday is the same thing as being in denial. FWIW, I was attacked a day or so ago b/c I said the OL would likely not ever be above average this year.
|2 days 8 hours ago||Yeah...||
Kalis was out, so it seems to be true that the entire starting five weren't present. And Glasgow was hurt, so you could count that too.
I'm never inclined to trust an assertion that a coaching staff has a super-secret plan, but I also don't get to visit U of M practices.
|2 days 8 hours ago||I've wondered about how fired up the players will be||
None of them were on the team, of course, in 2007, and none of the coaches (save Fred Jackson) were around either. My guess is that the players and coaches care less about revenge than we do as fans, but I don't know.
|2 days 8 hours ago||Per Coach Hoke...||
He wanted to simulate a game experience - running through the tunnel, being in front of fans, etc. I think he even said he wanted to simulate a night game, but my memory is foggy with regard to that detail.
|2 days 8 hours ago||A distinction||
The pass blocking appears to have been at least middling. The run blocking was another story.
|3 days 8 hours ago||Then..||
...I think you're actually right.
|3 days 8 hours ago||Hmmm...||
...do you mean that literally?
|3 days 8 hours ago||This is a great development||
I have to believe that a great many athletes - for a wide variety of reasons - don't obtain degrees before they leave school but later wish they could go back to do so. And I've never understood why you necessarily had to use the academic scholarship that you earned by playing a sport while you were playing the sport.
|3 days 8 hours ago||I hope this isn't true||
Apparently he had to be convinced to come back this year, and I doubt his family is wealthy given that he's from Huber Heights. Hopefully he can recover and make it to the NFL in one role or the other...Also, better to play your opponent at full strength.
|3 days 9 hours ago||Well...||
|3 days 9 hours ago||Speaking of possible OL/Funk discussions||
Is it possible to turn Xanax into a gas and then sent it through the internet so that it seeps out of the computers of everyone logged into the given thread?

Hopefully he navigates the legal system without his life going totally south and then manages to get back on track.
|4 days 6 hours ago||Just to be clear:||
I'm advocating stocism, not unhappiness.
|4 days 7 hours ago||That's a fair point||
My (non-panicked!) pessimism is intact, but that's a fair point.
And just to be clear: I hope my position is totally wrong.
|4 days 7 hours ago||Consider the hatchet buried||
And, fwiw, I do not mean to dump on the players. I'm sure they're busting their asses.
Another thought - I envy your connection to the team! That is awesome stuff.
|4 days 8 hours ago||You are angry||
I want you to know that I accept you as part of the Mgoblog family despite this. It's okay to be angry. Everyone is angry sometimes, and it's important not to stuff it down so that you end up eating five Cinnabons for dinner.
You will be okay.
