I thought that myself when I read that article that talked about a Data Scientist(tm)

Sam Webb said this morning that he was told - and believes - that the story was a "complete and utter fabrication." He also said Neal's coach said, more-or-less, "You have to understand my situation, but Mattison is a guy I respect."
|2 hours 25 min ago||Chatman and GRIII||
To add to what you said, GRIII came in with skills - leaping ability and shooting - that seem to me to translate to the college game immediately. Chatman is more of a passer and less of an athlete, and my guess is that it's harder for a guy like that to plug right in. He'll have to have an understanding of the college game and be comfortable before he can flourish.
|2 hours 37 min ago||Gotcha||
And you're very much right that he needs to pay off, IMO. As someone (Brian?) pointed out, it looks like he and Wilson are going to be the equivalent of the 2015 class, and Michigan hardly seems to have an abundance of impact guys (whether now or in the future) on the roster.
|2 hours 51 min ago||Robinson||
He may be able to shoot like Stauskas, but I have to believe he's not the same caliber athlete - probably not even close. Irvin would have to be Hardaway-plus for Irvin/Robinson to equal Hardaway/Stauskas.
|21 hours 27 min ago||Dear basketball gods:||
Please stop destroying this season. Alternately, please take all of your Michigan-related angst out on this season and then leave Michigan alone for the next many years.
|21 hours 54 min ago||Good enough||
I don't want to see the team caught off guard again by a dance competition that's used to break a tie.
|23 hours 32 min ago||re: his hips||
How does he project as a dancer of the samba?
|23 hours 39 min ago||Sam Webb has been hitting on this same issue||
Mora has to get over the hump of convincing Clark that UCLA will use a tight end - which isn't to say UCLA won't land Clark.
|1 day 2 hours ago||Attrition is already a problem||
This season is evidence that Michigan is already hurting from sending guys to the league faster than they can add NBA-quality players.
|1 day 5 hours ago||I agree with all of that||
Donnal is a 5. Doyle is a 5. Teske is coming in 2016.
I'd hate to miss out on a Thornton, Brown, Battle, or Langford because Michigan added a center of middling pedigree.
|5 days 3 hours ago||I'll take as many Chris Williamsons as Michigan can get||
I'd love to see special teams units loaded with guys like this. OSU seemingly has an army of such guys to run down the field on kicks/punts.
|5 days 4 hours ago||FWIW||
My takeaway from Rogers' time at CB is that it wasn't a disaster, which is what we'd feared when we learned he'd have to start at the position. I suggest filing him under "surprisingly serviceable."
|5 days 4 hours ago||I believe he was a DE and a QB||
|5 days 4 hours ago||yep||
|5 days 16 hours ago||Be careful, brother||
The commies can change your brainwaves through the internet. You should lay low for a bit.

I wish "M is falling behind Kentucky and Duke for [Player X]" wasn't such a frequently accurate statement.
|6 days 37 min ago||Ace||
Is there any movement at all on the basketball front? I saw that Jaylen Brown is going to reschedule his visit, but I haven't seen anything else for a long time (other than that Josh Langford likes Michigan).
|6 days 5 hours ago||I wouldn't say outraged||
My right knee is sore, though. Does that count?
|6 days 21 hours ago||"now the entire program is banking on the 2016 class"||
That's the situation in a nutshell (thought I suppose there is a slim chance Michigan lands Jaylen Brown). If I were still capable of feeling angst about a Michigan team (which I'm not b/c this football season drained that capability from me), I would be pretty angsty about the 2016 class. The recent suggestion that Derryck Thornton has lost interest in Michigan is bad news.

...who had posted this even before I clicked on the link.
|1 week 14 min ago||That's right||
Michigan had five guys drafted in '13-'14. Kentucky had four drafted in that time.
|1 week 4 hours ago||Andy Dalton made the Pro Bowl?!||
That is cause for concern.
|1 week 5 hours ago||Steve Clarke made an interesting point when talking to...||
...Sam Webb this morning: His understanding is that the Colts noticed the underinflation of the balls at halftime but didn't raise the issue until after the game. If that's true, did the Colts really think this was a big deal?
If I'm a baseball manager and I notice that an opposing pitcher is putting a foreign substance on the ball, I'm running out to the field and not leaving until the situation is sorted out.
|1 week 15 hours ago||proof||
The NFL is almost certainly reviewing every bit of video and every photo it can get its hands on from the game.

I've suspected as much, and that would confirm it.

From Jay Paterno (my emphasis):
Mike McQueary's testimony (emphasis mine):
Jay Paterno's first bolded quote is deeply misleading and also not very helpful even on its face. He admits Joe knew Sandusky was in the shower with a boy, and he omits the fact that, while the word "rape" wasn't used, McQueary said it was "extremely sexual."
The second bolded quote is laughable. Joe Paterno was a man who sometimes got out of his car and directed traffic in Happy Valley. He once kicked his bossses out of his house. And now he doesn't know what to do?!
|1 week 5 days ago||Fortunately...||
...they really can't remove Penn State from the stain of this. They can claim vindication all they want, but they won't be seen as a model program like they once were by the outside world for a very long time.
|1 week 5 days ago||you are exactly right||
Paterno didn't just turn a blind eye - he facilitated what Sandusky did. Paterno's supporters ignore this.
|1 week 5 days ago||The wins are trivial compared to much of the rest of the deal...||
...but that cuts both ways. $60 million toward preventing child abuse is much more important than wins and losses, but it's also something well beyond tacky for Penn State to push to have the wins reinstated in the first place.

Regardless, Hogan has completed 65% of his career passes and has a TD-to-Int. ratio of 48-21 (with another 9 TDs rushing). I've been underwhelmed by him too, but he's a good player.
