|2 hours 34 min ago||bpenning is my agent...||
...and you are my OC.
I have to disclose something to you both, though: I am going to need a lot of mentoring to make this work.
|3 hours 39 min ago||I may be a little late to the game here, but...||
I am willing to be Michigan's coach for that amount of money. Does anyone know where I can send my application?
|1 day 3 hours ago||Well...||
...I've certainly never made a dumb joke, so I am aghast!
|1 day 3 hours ago||That's good||
I hate it when relatively powerless people can ban together to stand up to more powerful interests.
|1 day 3 hours ago||EDIT:||
Now my Simpsons quote makes no sense.
|1 day 21 hours ago||Why would he reveal the name at all?||
This makes no sense to me. You don't reveal the name if it's a source, but you do - without waiting - if you're reporting on what a third party is saying, because then you're not burning anyone. Right?
|1 day 23 hours ago||nah||
You have to deny your candidacy for the sake of recruiting and keeping the locals happy. You keep your position at LSU as strong as possible until you're at a press conference announcing you're now at Michigan (assuming the latter becomes possible and you want the job).
|1 day 23 hours ago||I don't want Miles, but...||
...this tells us nothing. He'd be a fool to do anything other than deny his interest in public. This is very different than privately telling Hackett he's not interested.
|5 days 5 hours ago||Great news, Ace!||
Fun (?) Fact: John F. Kennedy had Addison's Disease.
|5 days 8 hours ago||Dear Mr. Lochman:||
We like Denard Robinson much more than we like you.
|6 days 8 hours ago||It's Mike Brown who...||
...wants to take on the reclamation projects, though maybe Lewis does too. But it's Lewis who let guys like Terrell Owens and Chad Johnson be knuckleheads in ways that distracted from the team - though I suppose Brown may have forced that on Lewis in a sense too.
In any event, Lewis has had a hard time getting guys to fall in line. And he seems comfortable letting Brown be involved in things for which he has no expertise in return for Lewis being - IMO - Bengals coach for life.
|6 days 8 hours ago||Wendy||
I believe Harbaugh was simply saying that's his focus right now, just as he's said in press conferences (about the team, anyway).
|6 days 8 hours ago||Agreed||
IMHO, Lewis is a weak leader who tolerates bad behavior by his players and tremendous meddling by ownership, all because he will never be fired by said ownership. The Bengals are not the putrid, fraudulent corpse of an organization they once were, but they are still not at all an entity we want Michigan to borrow from.
Lewis is now at the top of the list of names I do not want considered.
|1 week 4 hours ago||That's interesting stuff - thanks for posting||
The ability to develop QBs is a pretty great trait for a coach, at the risk of stating the obvious.
|1 week 4 hours ago||Per Sam Webb/Marcus Ray this morning:||
Per Sam: The players expressed their concern to Hackett that they won't fit the scheme of a new coach.
Per Ray (who is on the "advisory committee" for the search): Offensive style - especially with regard to fit for the current roster - will be taken into account, but no one has been excluded at this point because they run a given style.
|1 week 7 hours ago||Is this the coolest thread in blog history?||
It has to be near the top.
|1 week 9 hours ago||A fair point||
That's not as bad as what Miles has done, but it's still a mark against Mullen.
|1 week 9 hours ago||Sure||
But cutting kids shows a lack of concern for your players. Recruiting JUCO guys doesn't say anything that important.
Here's an article about Miles and oversigning:
|1 week 9 hours ago||Apparently...||
...Mullen signs guys who both parties know will have to go the JUCO route so that he has the inside track on them when they qualify. Signing 29 players doesn't necessarily mean you're cutting guys.
|1 week 9 hours ago||Serious (non-rhetorical) questions:||
Has Mullen ever cut guys from his squad like Miles? Has he ever questioned the manhood of a former recruit during a press conference like Miles did with Gunner Kiel?
|1 week 9 hours ago||FWIW||
Ray sounded more flexible with regard to offensive systems when talking to Sam Webb this morning.
|1 week 11 hours ago||Very much the latter||
Domestic violence is very common. (I don't mean to comment one way or the other on this particular situation by saying that.)
|1 week 11 hours ago||I think there is probably a lot to this||
It's worth remembering that the team lost Stauskas, GRIII, McGary, Horford, and Morgan. As you say, that group includes three NBA guys and a fourth - Morgan - who was as valuable as an NBA guy by the time he left. And Michigan's replacements for those guys include only one guy - Chatman - whose recruiting profile suggested that he might be able to start right away.
Ideally, all of Michigan's remaining 4s and 5s would be coming off the bench. That's not to say they won't be good in the future, but they simply aren't ready right now.
|1 week 12 hours ago||I wish I could...||
...upvote you more than once for the pot/Worldwide Wes comment. Watching the Calaparis of the world thrive while the Beileins of the world suffer reminds me too much of real life, and then what's the point of sports?
|1 week 12 hours ago||I don't know||
I have a hard time believing the national sports media would fail to understand nuance.

|1 week 2 days ago||My grandfather...||
...didn't die fighting alongside George Washington against Kaiser Wilhem so some red could prevent me from posting what I want to post on the internet. Sam Webb will never win the Freedom Trophy - I can tell you that.
|1 week 2 days ago||Question:||
Has Tom Beaver ever proven to be more accurate with his information than a coin flip would be? I don't have a Scout subscription, but my second-hand knowledge of him has always made me wonder how he and Sam could co-exist (given that, in my opinion, Sam says things that are based in fact).
|1 week 2 days ago||And Coach Rod runs nothing but zone?||
Am I correct that he doesn't pull lineman? I know it's not his bread and butter, but I can't remember if he never does it at all.
|1 week 2 days ago||Sam's assumption seemed to be...||
...that any spread-to-run guys considered would be guys who ran power at least at times (something OSU does, for example). I should have noted that to begin with.
