I was at the Arizona vs Utah

I was at the Arizona vs Utah game last night and the PA announcer and the U of A fans had a similarly annoying shtick.  Every time...[player name] for [yardage gained] for AN ARIZOOOONNNAAAAAAA FIRST DOWNNNNNNNN all with the fans joining for the first down part.  That, along with all of the other manufactured cuing for fan participation, including a nuclear siren sound through the speakers on defensive 3rd downs (wtf?), just makes the environment feel forced and almost cringeworthy.  I guess I'm saying we are lucky to have Grapentine and his subdued style and organic fan involvment.

Certainly they are a somewhat

Certainly they are a somewhat common injury and you are correct in that having a previous ACL reconstruction does place one at higher risk for re-injury. Yes, athletes are likely at higher risk for injury of the ACL due to monsterous joint reaction forces caused by large magnitude, multi-planar accelerations and decelerations, but the risk for non-contact ligamentous damage can be increased with improper hip loading resulting in the knee valgus/tibial external rotation fault noted with lateral cutting.  Derrick Rose is another athlete which demonstrates this dysfunctional mechanic and likely contributes to his nagging knee issues which have plagued him since his initial tear.  The ankle can play a part in the mechanics of the leg, but even more important is motor control of the hip in the context of football movements.  I see this all the time as a PT where a movement can be strong statically and dynamically in the clinic, but once on the field, old motor planning takes over and similar dysfunction is observed placing him/her at risk for reinjury.  Movement patterns are learned over many years and can be difficult to re-train.  The success of therapy can hinge on whether or not there is adequate carryover from clinic to field.

It's something I've seen

It's something I've seen stated on the boards a few times (if it's on the internet, it must be true).  So Adidas does not have any claim to the old jersey colors?  I always felt the notion of an apparel company claiming the official colors of a university ridiculous.

Would a switch back to Nike

Would a switch back to Nike allow M teams to use the old (less highlighter-y) maize again?  I thought I remember Nike having trademarked that exact shade of maize and was the reason why our maize changed around the time we became outfitted by Adidas.

To clarify, you mean MSU's

To clarify, you mean MSU's football facilities are lackluster in contrast to our excellent basketball facilities?  This may be true, I don't know enough about MSU's situation. But there is no doubt our excellent facilities have been part of what catalyzed our recent return to greatness in basketball, but I still believe, despite that, our current program will not be able to out-recruit "NBA-lite" teams i.e. Kentucky, Duke, Kansas, UNC, patially due to those teams success at translating those players to the NBA, and also due to the current cohort of kids growing up with those teams as powerhouse BB schools.  We haven't been there long enough to make that impact yet for most kids.

Exactly

And this was approximately the point I was going to make.  Our recent success in basketball is rougly  analagous to MSU's success in football.  We need to have sustained success over a longer period of time (decades, perhaps), and even then, the one-and-done schools will always attract more top elite prospects as long as the "1-year removed from high school" restriction on entry into the NBA is in place.
