So 1yr probation because…

So 1yr probation because recruits came during the dead period.  And 1 year for each cheeseburger…. Wow glad we didn’t host an actual recruiting weekend like that team with a nut for a mascot….

Surprised the Big10 is okay…

Surprised the Big10 is okay with this.  Oh it's not something they can screw over Michigan on so...

That was a momentum changing…

That was a momentum changing play and then the whistle and that was Burke's fourth foul which was a total bs foul.

I also thought Beilein should have sat spike once he went cold or sat him for most of the 2nd half.  The fouls on Burke altered that game imo but Spike was great the first half.

If you can't shoot when you…

If you can't shoot when you are guarded you aren't a shooter.  I expect any d1 player to be able to hit an open basket.  And for much of that game there were open shots for purdue to take and they kept hesitating passing it back out or around not taking the shot they had.  They kept trying to get the wide open shot and not take many shots that were challenged.  No one else could hit a shot that was challenged.  Not to mention they were missing open shots when they got them.

Uconn was definitely the better team and Clingan for the most part made Edey earn his baskets without committing bad fouls.  But again, after Edey nobody for purdue could shoot with a defender on them.

02 Indiana just got hot like…

02 Indiana just got hot like several other tournament darlings and had no business in the championship game.

07 Ohio st lost a solid game to Florida, can't say I was disappointed at all.

2015 Wisconsin, that was a game I thought Wisconsin should have won and had a few bad calls that were just lets gift coack K another one...  maybe my bias here.

05 Illinois was a great game, don't kick out to the three on that play, take it to the hoop cause they were sitting on it..  I was thinking that and he turned and kicks it out..  ugh.  great game with worthy teams.

09 Msu losing to North Carolina, another of the big ten teams that not enough length, problem illinois had, and just out classed in a year where msu was really good but not close to great...  again, can'ts ay I'm disappointed in an embarrasing loss for izzo

What boggles my mind is how…

What boggles my mind is how many times I see the Big Ten get in and just don't have the ability to score baskets in that game.

If Purdue has a second player that can just shoot the ball they win.  Michigan vs Louisville we faced a really good team where I don't think this years teams were on the level of some past tournament teams. One could argue a few teams got shafted by officials in those games on a few close calls that going the other way changes the outcome of games.  What it boils down to is getting elite players and the BigTen hasn't really had them across the conference since the 90's tbh.

For spring ball a few things…

For spring ball a few things needs to happen.

Orji, cuff his legs, and I mean, he has to throw and not allowed to break the pocket.  Yes he's a weapon running we know that.  That isn't what needs developed!  Seriously the offense/passing game will need him to be not just a competent passer!  If he becomes more than competent the offense can take off!

Defense, Martindale has to back off the pressure 24/7 every play.  Yes this defense is great, but imo there is a ton to do.  We also have an oline to develop and yes I get it he has to get his defense ready but they are rolling already.

Oline, QB's and Rec's, don't go home at the end of spring ball cause they need to get snaps/reps and get a whole lot better!

I never thought Barwis was…

I never thought Barwis was the savior as fans worshiped him.  By year 2 with too may big ten teams making us look small and then lining up against the top b10 teams on the lines and we looked like a mac school…..  No joke it was rough.  That wasn’t on Barwis…  he did his job.  RR told him they were to fat, take the bad weight off..  didnn’t realize how bad it was till year two and once again we couldn’t line up with the top teams in the conference and were still fighting it out losing to Iowa and Illinois while getting rolled by Wisconsin, Msu and Osu…  And people still defend RR today..   1 DT that was legit b10

Not discounting Herbert as a…

Not discounting Herbert as a top s&c coach.  But we got worked by Wisconsin Osu and Alabama in 2019…   2020 was a total disaster.   So while Herbert is a top s&c coach the buy in was not there!  And that’s a team culture thing.  The entire culture and environment changed when the new coaches came in and reset the culture and work ethic of the team.  No amount of Rah Rah changed that the year before.  It was the team leaders that changed it with the new coaches.

Don’t get me wrong, Herbert had the program annd guys were getting physically developed.  But it takes a lot more…MacDonald changed the perception of how much philosophy, 101 fundamentals and how much energy is needed in the program.  I think Hart and Moore on offense added so much here as well and our team led by the Head Coach selected the mentality on this team from there.

Good interview.  I thought…

Good interview.  I thought he needed to step back with the surgery.

Imo his mistake with Sanderson is the second Sanderson replied, "I had to deal with this bs last week"..  that is the moment Howard should have stopped  everything regarding practice and told sanderson and the assistants to meet and lets get this resolved and stopped now.  Should have immediately ripped Jace to come back tomorrow and he will meet with him and the rest of the coaches.

IDK, not being there, Juwan sure allowed things to happen that let entitlement and disrespect of his assistants ruin the program.  The second it was allowed and happened in front of other coaches and his team mates is the second he lost the program!

Idk, He started in 2018 here…

Idk, He started in 2018 here and I get it it takes a couple years to get things going for your program..  Everyone was done with the staff i 2020, though I thought covid year was a raw deal anyway for any staff that followed the rules only to watch programs come out like they didn’t miss a beat.

While I do think BH was great here and I like his program.  I believe the biggest impact were the coaching additions of Mike MacDonald, Mike Hart and then Sherone Moore taking over the Oline… guys like Aiden Hutchinson and company getting the full team buy in!  That imo changed everything and happened after Ben Herbert was already here.  Yes, he’s a great s&c coach.  Yes, I’ve never seen a Michigan team more prepared but I think the coaching and player buy in to the entire program including full buy in to the S&C program

I don’t recall well enough…

I don’t recall well enough but landing Onwenu and Ruiz are pretty significant.  Not that it really was a huge deal then because he was gone before they were developed.  Overall his Olines he coached here were good not great qb play was a bigger issue at the time.

Harbaugh praising the QB…

Harbaugh praising the QB that won Big Ten Titles, out dueled CJ Stroud to win, won a National Championship and out dueled Penix, it’s not a stretch.

The common projections of Williams, Maye/Daniels, then McCarthey, Penix is the most likely.  But what is often missed is the team and organization they go to  If I’m JJ, there are several I don’t want to go to.

I still believe the Bengals ruined a few QB careers in the 90’s and think they held Carson Palmer to mediocre never investing in free agents or improving things for the team/players.  The Browns, and many other teams, just I’d rather not go.  Yeah it got better for the Bengals as the organization got better when Mike Brown allowed others to run day to day.  But many teams the ownership just doesn’t get it done.

You get a turd, he gets a…

You get a turd, he gets a turd, everyone gets a turd...    I'm all out of turds and ....Sing along, stay with me

LOL, given our OOC schedule…

LOL, given our OOC schedule the last few decades compared to many other programs including osu, I didn't give two turds about the criticism of the ooc schedule!  Then given we played the same number of power conference teams in the regular season of all but one or two sec teams and acc teams, refused to give even one turd...  Then given the annual sec scrimmage week against fcs schools..

There is a truth to that. …

There is a truth to that.  When things are great you can’t do anything wrong.  And when things are bad, you can’t do anything right.  And we’ve seen that over and over again with how our fans talk about players, coaches and ad.

Gorgeous Al Borges, went from Genius to can’t coach an offense to Fire him now.  Well, he got fired and the next season under Doug Nussmeier, Al Borges was a genius again.  How fickel fans can be.  We went through it with Harbaugh, best coach in cf to fire him to give him the keys to the kingdom again…  Funny how that works.

Warde though, I’ve been consistent about him from the outset.  Not a huge fan and never was.  Too passive with coaches and things that matter.  Rather or not things were his fault it does stop at him.  Super quick to publicly cut Jim’s salary.  Also quick to cut athletic support staff and let coaches roll without an effort to keep them.  Some could argue old coaches retiring or the other reply to that could be, coaches in position to retire and don’t want to put up with BS as well.  More than one way on this street.  Was slow to offer Jim a relevant contract based on the successes of three seasons.  I mean, legit 2.5 weeks passed before he made the real offer to be the highest paid coach in cf, and meet other contract demands when anyone that really wanted that would have had that contract approved by Ono and regents Jan 10th and in Harbaugh’s hands Jan 10th when the plane landed!   And when it’s clear Harbaugh wanted a shot at the Lombardi Trophy, sure, but that doesn’t give any excuse to not trying to make the real effort.

Anyone notice that Big10…

Anyone notice that Big10 officiating didn't change towards Michigan until after the SEC invited Michigan and Ohio st to join after covid?  Notice how different the officiating has been?  Much cleaner in games not the off the wall PI calls against our team where there wasn't contact, or our rec's getting tackled with no pi call against the other team.

100%, the 2016 game should…

100%, the 2016 game should have had the ire of every last person in the Athletic Department namely Warde Manuel!  The fact that he didn't say a word publicly until the 2018 game against Northwestern when the B10 officials calling bs penalties for now two full seasons called holding on our RB after a read option QB keep and Higdon was tackled off the fake..  and the official look Harbaugh in the eyes and said yes, Holding #22..  and Warde's response after the game.  It's time I make a phone call to the B10...  yeah..

The fact of the matter is Warde always held the power position with the Big10 and never once intervened.  The screw job by B10 officials didn't end with NW.  Go watch a review of the 2018 game, the crossing route game.  Where osu rec's were clearly blocking defenders on the route with the ball in the air.  It wasn't just pic plays it was straight up blocking the defenders out of the play and the ball wasn't thrown or was still in the air.  That's OPI every time.  Sure teams can get away with it a couple plays a game.  Not the entire game and not when 5 scoring plays happen on them..  Warde had nothing to say..   Not a damn thing to say.

Shoot first is usually a bad…

Shoot first is usually a bad idea unless the other gun is drawn ready to fire.

Michigan has one true money making sport among the very elite in this country!   Warde will be continually judged by Harbaugh’s departure!  No two ways about it.  He will also be judged by Moore’s tenure as hc.

May could be a great hire or a misfire but it’s the football program that better be right!

Well, no one alive today is…

Well, no one alive today is responsible for what happened a century ago let alone before that.  Not looking favorably on the royal family, understandable.  But to hold such feelings today is a bit much.

Bama, Osu 22, osu determined…

Bama, Osu 22, osu determined Michigan would not run the football that game, on the road just demolished that defensive backfield..

 JJ's success will have…

JJ's success will have nothing to do with some armchair qb rather he's from Detroit and a huge Michigan fan or some fool in columbus being an osu fan...  Some fan or analyst saying they watched every throw from JJ and they know he's a success or failure is hilarious.

NFL scouts get this wrong half the time and they are paid professionals.  NFL coaches get this wrong half the time.  Circumstance, organization, structure, roster, coach, scheme, oline and receivers ie players around them.  It all is part of it.  And there is no telling how that player reacts when they get there.

JMO I think JJ is going to be very successful if he hits the right team and situation.  I hate the idea of him going to the Giants or Broncos strapped with massive qb contracts that are horrible in Wilson or Jones..  in the first couple years of his career while it's time to build the roster and give them all a chance.  Who knows, I could be a 100% wrong and Denver be great for JJ with Sean Peyton as his coach..  Who knows..  I wish JJ the best, he's forever a Legend here and for ever our first 15-0 Undefeated National Champion to win the CFP, Rosebowl, 3xBig Ten Champ and 3x winner over osu..  So yeah, I'm going to cheer for JJ, but his success isn't going to be based on my opinion or anyone elses..

Bama players, NIL money and…

Bama players, NIL money and how much am I playing or starting next year?  Saban isn't wrong about the direction of cf and the focus and mental make up of players now.

It sounded a lot like osu players after the loss to Michigan.  Rather than lose with class they all jumped in the portal or were in Day's ear about NIL money and how much they would play next year.  McCord and his family wanting a guarantee he would start next season or he was gone

The program is losing…

The program is losing horribly now so nothing done is right and everything done is wrong.  The obvious only right move is to part ways with Howard which is a sad thing but seems necessary at this point.  It does seem the very public incidents and the now behind the scenes incident made public even if it's only half the story are making it impossible to retain Howard.  Given what's happening and the teams performance there is no way to continue beyond this season with Howard as the head coach.  But, Warde is in charge so...

Look at the difference in…

Look at the difference in scheduling between Michigan and osu for the foreseeable future… again.

Official measurements, some…

Official measurements, some workout data to get baselines and test speed/agility..

QB's letting them throw under measured conditions.

I do think too many are taken based off of good performances at the combine or even pro-day at their school.  As we have seen, practice like Tarzan, plays like Jane, or practice all american's.  The funny thing is how hard fans defend these or go after a poor drill at the combine as if that is definitive about that player.

Sprained mine in 08, pick up…

Sprained mine in 08, pick up bb game.  Ended up black and blue from my knee to my toe.  The game was with a bunch of dr’s all standing around discussing the grade the sprain was…. All the pain somehow I didn’t feel it as I was laughing so hard at them discussing it and not actually looking at it… my friend an rn was checking it out..

Saab imo had more to do with…

Saab imo had more to do with Paige and Moore returning and wanting a starting role.  Could he have slid over to nickel safety?  But it's a big deal losing him.

Graham and Grant, Will Johnson all three could command big time dollars so who knows who offered. This is the part where it's tampering and ncaa is powerless to do a dang thing.  But, bring the hammer for signs or cheeseburgers...  and watch Warde finally step up and later fold.

Well the issue will remain…

Well the issue will remain the politics for control rather the ncaa or some other governing organization takes it's place.  The lobby for control of this to force the favor of the cfp is going to exist and no way around it.  The sec somehow has controlled this with the ncaa for a long time.  The new tv contracts has put the Big10 in the driver seat and the money I believe is too big for espn to control and play the same spin it has against the other conferences, namely the big10.

Hence the complete turn around in coverage towards Michigan during the CFP..  Yes beating bama shut up a ton of naysayers but if you listened to the coverage the week leading up to the RoseBowl it was vastly different than before and vastly different than the regular season and seasons before.

If autobids are the deal…

If autobids are the deal then look no further than the NFL. The NFL does it right, and while people cry it's not fair it does set the most fair stage.  Want an autobid, win your division within your conference and you're in.  Everyone else is fighting for the record qualifiers set forth not by eye tests or popularity/tv ratings.  Hard fast rules.  Does it makes sense, yes, do people still cry that a 13 win team has to travel to a 9 win teams home stadium.  Yes, but that doesn't change the fact that they didn't win their division and if they are that good they shouldn't be complaining about where they play, they should worry about winning.

On to Autobids...  Big10, Sec, ACC, Big12, should each get two autobids and by division winner, not by conference champ.  All conferences go to two division winners.  Then G5 the highest rated champ gets autobid.  However, the 2 highest rated teams get the bye week.  And just like the NFL, it's by conference.  Opposite brackets and conferences paired with a 4 team limit per conference.  We don't give two turds about your 5th best team..   Idk if the 5th best team is Michigan or Alabama, you shouldn't have placed 5th in your conference!  Also no guarantee of 4 spots either.  If the 4th best team sucks with 8 wins, then the 4th best team is going to the alamo bowl not the cfp...

Schedule consistency, A miniumum # of games vs power conferences or conference schedule must be played.  No more watching an sec team play a total of 8 conference games and no other power program loaded with 4 cream puffs and then get to sneak in with that schedule and claim sec...  no, you played Chattanooga, Citadel, UAB and Tulsa.. that isn't going to cut it...  And the same for all conferences you play min 9 or 10 games vs p5 programs, should be 10 but we can go with 9 and no fcs.

Manningham was never the…

Manningham was never the same after that knee injury.  Just didn't get it back.  He devastated defenses before that.  They said it was just a the meniscus and maybe so.  That also hurt as the 06 offense already lost Bass.  Manningham and the nfl, idk..

Agree, not a bust but also…

Agree, not a bust but also not the career we thought Braylon would have.  Terrell yes, bust but also think he was a guy that maxed out in college and skills didn't transfer.

Devin Bush, I thought he got injured in the osu game and wasn't quite as explosive after.  I could be completely wrong but I never thought he looked good for the steelers.  Also never thought that was a good fit for him in that style of defense. An undersized inside lber in a 3 front defense isn't ideal.  Which is why I was surprised the steelers took him.

Blake's 40 time will matter…

Blake's 40 time will matter to where he gets drafted.  That injury set his overall top speed back but how much?  His inside run improved a ton this year and imo that is huge for him.  Being both a strong inside and ouside runner in the nfl is huge.  Knows how to get skinny in the hole, has that jump step the old L2.  He did it against every defense and against future nfl lbers....

and we want Moore!!!!!  2023 Business is Finished but 2024 is here and we want Moore!

The reference for lower…

The reference for lower position is that he turned down a college offensive coordinator position to accept a position as rb coach in the NFL.  Which most would consider a lesser position.

Was the OC job at USC or a power program?  Was it a co-oc?  Pay and growth potential?  Program and players taking over?  These are all huge now in college not to mention just how fast a college roster can change everything.  So it may not be a better position while it would be a higher level position.

LOL goor or not is…

LOL goor or not is irrelevant.  He's getting paid and the number one job is perception of direction.  He has that in his favor at this point.  He's also getting paid at a place that will pay him all that money to go away!  Same as other schools paying their coaches to go way.  But it's at least for the immediate future looks like a great investment for Texas.

Made the CFP, Beat Bama in the regular season and the greatest sales job every coach can possibly make is Next year can e even better!  IE, Hope!

Well then lets stop the…

Well then lets stop the idolization of all.  People, corporations and more.  Woo hoo look at my latest Nike's made by some kid somewhere in a sweatshop in asia working 18 hours a day for pennies an hour only to be forced by their parents to come back and do it again tomorrow.  But I got the latest pair for $250.00..   Let's celebrate those massive uni deals..   Michigan signed with Jordan Brand..

Brad Hawkins good college…

Brad Hawkins good college player but struggled when faced with elite players.  That isn't a knock as few are elite.  Earlier in his career he had the unenviable task where Don Brown would line him up in Man Coverage over elite speed rec's in the slot..  WTF was he thinking because it worked against Indiana and Rutgers it was never going to work against Osu or anyone else with an elite rec.  That's not on the player that's on the staff.  MacDonald never did that. He kept DJ Turner and his fastest corners on speed rec's and kept his safeties in zone when the speed rec's went to the slot.

Hawkins properly developed and shows how well they can play as evidenced by the 2021 osu game he had 7 tackles a season high against the nfl rec corp..  that is what a good player does put in the right position!

Not a surprise when both…

Not a surprise when both Moore and Paige return next season.  Most of us expected to lose one or both next season.  But with everything happening and these guys returning it's not unexpected.  Does suck cause I thought he'd be a starter for 24 and 25 seasons.

Exactly!  What is funny is…

Exactly!  What is funny is they went after the one that follows the rules more than any other!  He played by the rules they printed, he didn't play by the ones that were unspoken by them so they hated him.

Manuel just chased off the coach and one of only a couple head coaches that have went 15-0 to win the National Championship!  Verge of building a dynasty at Michigan and they have this.

It rings to me that Warde…

It rings to me that Warde befriended the devil.  From the Ncaa and Jim Stapleton the meeting he had with Warde before all this went public.  Then the B10 and Petite and cowering to all, two suspensions over complete and utter bs nonsense and changing / altering rules to do so.  This in fact tells me who both are.

It was a clear and concerted effort that all 3 were a part of.  Manuel, Petite and Stapleton..

That's impressive.  Look at…

That's impressive.  Look at the two games that were closest.  Games on the line.  Vs osu 2nd half 9att, 8 completions..  That's clutch..  Against Bama, clutch the last two drives 7att, 6 completions and game tying td to go to overtime!

Folks, dude was nothing but clutch for us in the biggest plays on the biggest stages for us!  He got judged for plays being slightly off target..  got judged for a few that were flat dropped or went through the rec's hands.  Come on guys, you have to catch these.  QB's get pressured, get dline or blitz in their face and we judge them for the ball a half yd off target with 300lb dudes in their face.  Numbers don't lie and JJ's numbers back up he is a massive reason we are National Champs!  Want to know the difference, Kyle McCord is now in Syracuse, Penix regarded as the top qb in cf last year lost to JJ.  All the other qb's under pressure their numbers just didn't add up.

Several are said to have higher end wr's, namely Penix and McCord but their are others as well that had elite rec's and many also dismissed Michigan's receivers.  Doesn't matter JJ is the real deal and has skyrocketed up draft boards as people watch him play.

Basically any osu loss but…

Basically any osu loss but in order..

2016 hurt the most.  Out played them by a massive amount. The officiating in that game from start to finish was flat BS!  I will never count that game as a loss!  I don't count it as a win given it will never count as a win just never see it as a loss just a complete screw job.

2017/2018 vs osu same bs with officials.

The toughest losses outside of these come back to a few.

2006 Osu, that late hit hurt.. that game hurt.  The fact that officials called the late hit and never called the lber for jacking Manningham was straight bs.

Most painful outside of osu.

TCU after winning the natty the pain of this loss and most all of these losses really subsided.  But it stings because I thought we had a serious shot with Georgia and a shot at redemption.  Idk if we win that game but I wanted to see it.

2016 OB loss to fsu also stung, to get back into that game and blow it the way we did stung.  It just felt like all the wind was out of the sails of the program for a bit after that.

NFL rosters can largely be…

NFL rosters can largely be turned over in 2 years.  Harbaugh knows the nfl andhas taken over a bad franchise with a far lesser qb than Herbert and overall bad roster according to the pundits.  Only to turn everything around the first season.  Not suggesting that same immediate success is duplicated.  The NFL is the one league where the playing field is as level as possible from talent distribution and roster management between the draft and free agency and player retention or releasing them.

Harbaugh's no nonsense approach identifies who wants to be there and who's riding the wave holding on for paychecks.  Hence why I would expect several that weren't putting in the effort before to suddenly be all in, coming in shape and definitively playing much better than before.  And many of them won't make it based on the past, they will be let go because of.

That was a well written…

That was a well written response and as fast as they folded and didn’t follow through, left it toothless and zero bite.

I still believe that had they fought in court and Warde came with the legit contract offer, Jim may have signed and not looked at the NFL.  Pure speculation but actions do matter to Jim.

If we are done chasing down…

If we are done chasing down the raven's assistants lets promote Clink as DC, and bring in a really good lbers coach.  Or Clink-Elston as co-dc's.

Last 6 games 3 top ten…

Last 6 games 3 top ten scoring defenses 1 top 20, 1 top 40 and 1 top 56 not that it matters much but all were formidable defenses with Washington being the lowest rated scoring defense at 24.8ppg.

The last 6 games the offense scored 24, 31, 30, 26, 27 and 34 against the top defenses for a 28.66 off ppg avg.

The last 6 games the defense gave up 15, 24, 24, 0, 20, 13 against these teams for a 16ppg avg for a 12.6ppg scoring differential vs that schedule!  A two score differential!
